Much has transpired since my last Curation, and I shall endeavor to relay these happenings with the utmost transparency. It is no secret that many challenges have tested our mettle: the specter of unrest and discord looms in certain quarters, and it is incumbent upon us to address these matters. Even so, the indomitable Haeseni spirit shall always persist, even in tumultuous times such as these; thus, I proceed with this publication.

ON KINGDOM-WIDE AFFAIRS

A fierce snowstorm has swept through the land, covering Valdev in a thick blanket of snow. The citizens of Haense have since faced harsh winter conditions, with freezing temperatures and limited visibility due to the heavy snowfall. In response to this crisis, the Queen has implemented Operation Nikirala to address the challenges posed by the snowstorm. Citizens are advised to don multiple layers of fur and seek refuge within the Palace, amongst other measures detailed in the following missive.

The Hospital of St. Amyas seeks to bolster its ranks of healers and medics in light of the recent blizzard that has befallen Haense. This recruitment drive seeks to gather individuals who wish to learn the art of healing wounds and varying ailments. Aspiring medics are invited to present themselves at the hospital, where they shall be assessed for their proficiency in the healing arts.

The Kingdom recently celebrated its sesquicentennial independence, marking a grand 150 years of independent rule, spanning three whole Saint's years. In honor of this momentous occasion, a grand ball and market festival were held, gracing the capital with splendid merriment and jubilation.

ON COURTLY AFFAIRS

Despite the tumultuous circumstances posed by this harrowing snowstorm, the Esrova Prikaz Court has continued to flourish. The latest appointments within Her Majesty’s Court include the esteemed Firress Laurissa Kort, who has been bestowed with the title of Mistress of the Abstract in Lord Haus Weiss-Vuiler’s stead. The beloved Lord Haus served dutifully under the Queens Sofia and Amaya for many years and has earned his well-deserved retirement. We thank him for his service within the Royal Courts, for he paved a considerable path in his studies of the Abstract.

 

Joining the ranks of the Esrova Servantry are Firr Iosif and Firress Danika. The Queen and her councilors are certainly delighted to have them and believe the Palace grounds shall flourish under their care!

The new Mistress of the Abstract, read over the missive with a curious gaze before her eyes reached the part mentioning her. A smile emerged on her lips, “Laurissa Kort.” She murmured the use of her bastard surname oddly fondly.

A once-Master of the Abstract, now simply a untethered man, reads the publication in the sanctuary of his former office. His star-filled gaze squints as he reads the few words hes been allocated, an amused thought entering his mind. The missive is soon set down on a nearby table, as he opts to instead sip away at a fruity wine, and pet the orange-furred companion within the office. 

 

He wonders, for a moment, if he made the right choice. It's a thought that quickly washes away from his mind as he thinks to another place, and of other people. He holds no doubts, as the feeling settles in.

 

Freedom. Untethered to bounds that held long since frozen over. It's almost as suffocating as it is liberating.
