Cordelia Claudine raised the visor from the helmet that was too large for her young head. She looked up toward her mother's cold gaze that stared toward the horizon as they rode onward. Where will we go now? She wanted to ask her mother, but a voice within her chided the silly question. She knew what her mother would say.

The young Stassion bit her tongue as she held tightly onto her mother's back. "A dragon cannot be consumed by fire, it only burns brighter." She said to herself quietly.

And the fire within her sparked anew.

Sir Johanes lays his blade beside his bed as he returns to his quarters. Defeat stung, but he had at least recouped some dignity for honoring his end of a long-voided contract.

Ser Vylandris of the United Kingdom of Aaun returns home from battle, a victory hard-fought and a victory well-earned. He takes off his blood-stained armour before going to his barn. He tends to his cows, a peaceful interaction to conclude the adrenaline of combat as he allowed a sense of peace to overtake him. He knew this would not be the end. The stubbornness of Man has been a strong suit, but at times it has also served to be the downfall of leaders and their people. The king would surely not allow the Stassionite leadership, if they survived at all, to remain alive after murdering his former kingly nephew. Blood for blood. And the Stassionite leadership would surely not allow a war to be their end, following in the footsteps of the besieged Brascans. Stubbornness vs Stubbornness. A war that transcends time and creed. A war that Ser Vylandris had no qualms continuing to fight. A victory for Aaun is a victory that Vylandris can take pride in... as its success correlated directly with his own.

Spoiler

Good fight. Hope to see you in the next one.

Mathilde Augusta Stassion meticulously gathered her belongings from the formidable Castle Aurelian, the air thick with a solemn vow: "Blood for Blood." Whispering with determination, she furrowed her brows while descending the steps. "They did not scorch us. We are dragons, after all. May they find peace tonight, but rest assured, we shall pursue them once more." With a graceful mount onto her horse, Mathilde rode away with her family to an unknown destination. "Blood will be spilled, but it shall not be ours. Ave Stassion. Stassions never die." Glancing back at the home that cradled nineteen years of memories, Mathilde turned to her sister Cordelia. "We shall return, Delia, mark my words."
