Heavily plate clattered through the palace halls as Dame Gwenyth slowly paced towards Queen's bedroom with Sybille in her arms. She was holding back tears, quietly mumbling to her friend as she forced the door open. Each step felt heavier than the last until Gwenyth reached the bed and slowly set her friend to rest, her eyes never leaving the late Queen's bloodied face. "Ea was supposed tae go first, vy fool," A broken laugh forced its way from her lips, and a hand quickly raised to cover her mouth as she fought back a sob. "Vy get vyr rest now, da? Ea've got vyr kids tae look after now," She leant down to pull Sybille's braid from beneath her head, carefully resting it over her shoulder. "Ea'll take mea time coming tae see vy again, Ea promise."

"Nen, that isn't true. I told her to be safe,"
Ariadne stressed, jaw clenching as she looked to Hilda who held the unfortunate task of breaking the news to the Princess Royal of her own mother's passing.  "My Imma has to be alright!" She cried out, sobs following soon after as she fell into what felt like an unending cycle of confusion and denial. For the next few days, Ariadne was rarely seen outside of Tuvia besides visiting her mother's body. The visit was short, though she was sure to say a final, "I love you, Imma."

Marc Galbraith shrugged at the news, clearly saddened to hear about the passing of the Queen "Her Majesty Sybille I was the Queen of Balian and did her best for the Balianese people and our Kingdom. May she rest in peace in the Seven Skies. The Queen is dead, long live the King!"

The announcement came with a mixture of disbelief, shock, regret and anger.

Elianos had taken to withdrawing to the Palace for much of his free time nowadays. He had become reclusive, despite his recent marriage, his sisters marriage, Ari and Xanders children being born- there was just no happiness left, he felt.

He had been angry when he had last spoken to his mother properly. She had met with Ophelia and himself as they had argued- some family squabbles relating to life choices. You know, that sort of thing.

He had dismissed Sybille and refused to explain. At least now she does not have to worry about it, he thought.

Elianos took the missive in hand. He had already been delivered this inheritance her farewell letter had spoke of. A banner he would truly treasure forever, for the memories it held. The letter she had left struck an unspoken cord in his heart- and some fury rose before it dispelled quickly. Now just wasn't the time.

But what time was it? What did he do now? Did he seek out his siblings, his wife, or set off to explore and be free? Be free, he thought, was something he had fought for as a child. To sail the seas and to adventure.

They had wanted to be pirates, after all.

Spoiler

I've already said this to you HF but thank you for everything, for the character and for the support you gave me during my time of Poppiya, Cosima and Elianos. I wish you all the best, and hope that your next chapter in life is a good one, no matter where you go or what you do.

Andromeda of Ba’as, Queen Mother of Balian, tenderly lit a solitary candle as the heart-wrenching news of her beloved daughter's passing reached her ears. Despite her diminished regard for Balian since relinquishing her throne, her maternal love for her children remained unwavering. With a solemn prayer on her lips, "May Mirtas watch over her precious children and bless Balian," she gently blew out the flickering flame and found solace in the seclusion of her chamber within the hallowed halls of the Hand of Horen.

Bon'Ox Flat-Zniffa, the newly converted & then un-converted goblin squints at the missive.
He remembers seeing the Queen on the battle field, fighting along-side her. But he did not notice her fall.
The one-armed goblin sighs - he wished he had ask about her time serving in the Coalition War with his father before her death.

A tiny half-elven woman had only just stopped wearing black, she proceeded to fish out the dress and wear it once again. Agnes pressed her hand to her chest over her rosary and wept. The girl wept for the woman she had loved, and she wept knowing she would never see her again. Agnes wept for her mother, who would no doubt be lost without her diety, and she wept for the world.

In her bedroom in the palace, the princess would be curled up on her bed, the very room she grew up in. Thoughts began to race through her mind of when her mother was alive, one which felt like mere moments ago for her wedding. What is supposed to be a joyous day turned dark and gloomy by the news of her mother passing, "Imma.. I wanted to make you proud, to see you grow old with your children and grandchildren.. May you rest in peace, and find solace knowing you're with padre." She said as she turned around and covered herself with her blanket, not wanting to face the world.
