A formally written missive would be distributed throughout the Duchy of Lumbridge.

The entirety of the note is written in Blackspeech. Those who do not understand the language would be unable to read this note.

For the past several years, I have been learning the paths of Xionism alongside the mortal powers of the soul. After intense introspection and reflection, I have realized that such a path is not for me to take. I have been searching for one to disconnect me from such powers within Lumbridge’s walls for months with no sign of such a person. Due to this, I make this open call for those that will see it when I am unable to attend. Whichever of the Barrowlords are willing to undo my conjoinment, contact me.

The Devil-Knight

A wax seal in the shape of a female lion with devilish horns would be attached to the bottom.

A response was given posthaste, a formal handwriting in similar tongue. Before being sent, it is also shown to Melandrach to ensure their permission.

    To The Devil-Knight,

We have met in brief, and it's my great apologies we could not have spoken more, and with great regret it we haven't managed to do so before initial conjoinment as per standard procedure. From conference with the other Barrowlords, it it would seem none were made aware either.

It is as such that you have my condolences that you find yourself in this situation. The path of Shephard is a great undertaking that in no circumstances should be thrust upon by any uninformed, unwilling, or otherwise unready.

That being said, the process and rite of sapping is one that can absolutely be performed. However, it is not without consequence. Note that by severing ones self of the art, the phantom from which you are conjoined will be lost, and your soul will remain scarred and disfigured. The process will be excruciating, and you will likely face great mental and potentially physical detriment.

Continue to consider, and when you are ready, seek Melandrach. If you wish for any further counseling on the matter, such can also be arranged with I or any of the other Barrowlords.

Best wishes,

Barrowlord Mek'Abiri

Though the missive never crossed Villorik of the White Comet's path, the Devil Knight did cross his mind every so often.

She, and a certain letter.

Unfortunately, the templar that read through the letter was capable of reading and speaking black speech. Said individual seethed at reading what the young knight had become; she already had some suspicion after a darkstalker within delivered her some information. Therefore, she fervently penned a letter back, addressed solely(as in only Leoni can read this) to the young knight without signing the letter in a clear manner:

"You have lied to us, you snake-forked beast. It does not matter if you seek redemption by seeking the assistance of a wight canine to remove the knowledge you craved. Warnings have been given to you along a hand of mercy, a warmth embrace of camaraderie. Yet, you sought the dark nonetheless, like a fool. I'm afraid to tell you that even if you withdrew from it, your soul is now tainted until judgment is given upon your wretched being. There are consequences to be learned. Watch your back, liar."

- By the ones you have deceived

Somewhere, in a lone abode of Norland, rested a lone ‘Fenn, her physique having grown soft from years of rest and home life, and blissfully unaware of the many happenings around her for the past few years.

The young devil-knight haven’t been on her mind much after their last encounter at the Paladin’s hold. Though the devil-knight’s fury from those years prior had shook her, she did not pay much heed to it then. And perhaps she’ll never know of the path her niece had walked upon.

Missives of the growing conflicts in the land south of her current home have begun to reach her, yet she remained decadent still. The days of fighting have grown behind her, after all.

As she poured herself a cup of ikurn’vallei along with her routine, if not somewhat lazy dinner of blood sausage, potatoes, and cabbage, however, her thought wandered to one figure: that young short-haired, valiant she-devil. Perhaps of a habit grown from solitude, sometimes Ariane would find herself pouring a cup out for a friend or sibling unseen across from her table, and as of tonight, fate would have it that she would have poured a cup out for the one Mali who could tolerate her drinks other than those from her family: the devil knight.

Yet, the seat across from her remained empty still, and the estranged ‘fenn left a soft sigh, completely oblivious of the happenings in that dreaded land.

“… It has been some years, my dear niece. I wonder if you’ve became someone your mother would be proud of… Ah, what am I doing, saying such silly things? I can’t be growing old at just 50.”

”Perhaps I should ask her to visit me…? It has been some time… I wonder if she’s still over there with the Tali’bortu in Dunwen. I know they can be a handful for sure. Hopefully she haven’t grown even redder from what headaches they may produce…” She chuckled.
