VA VE ELDERVIK,

WITH THE TRANSITION IN REIGNS from Their Late Majesties to that of King Marius III and Queen Juliya of Reinmar’s, Ve Nadziesk Kort has undergone several recent reforms. Amongst these is the ascension of a new Grand Lady to serve as Her Majesty’s right hand advisor. Thus, the crown is pleased to announce the appointment of Her Excellency, SVETLANA VAS RUTHERN-COLBORN, Grand Lady of Hanseti-Ruska.

FIRRESS DEIA, HAVING FILLED THE seat after the unfortunate passing of Marjoreya vas Ruthern, served dutifully under King Ivan VIII and Queen Nataliya I for nearly seven years. The Crown thanks her for her decades of service to the Kingdom, and looks forward to the future of the courts beneath the leadership of Lady Svetlana.

Esfir beamed as one of her oldest friends was appointed to the Aulic Council. Surely, the Courts would thrive beneath them.

The new Grand Lady settled then into her office, staring at the paperwork infront of her. "Here ea go."

A woman read of the appointment with a look of confusion and a raised eyebrow. "How odd. I remembered Deia being utterly devoted to the role, saving up every little mina she could to do whatever was needed. The poor woman can barely afford tea for our meetings." She decided it must be some sort of red flag to let go of someone who fit the part so well. A sign of the times, even.

{!}
Caspian would nod as the appointment was made, he pondered about it for a moment before setting down the writ "She's earned it, I expect good things from her" he would comment idly to himself in his office, sipping his water before beginning his own missives soon to be distributed across Haense.

Making her way throughout the vibrant halls of the Castle Lesanov, the Duchess of Vidaus went to knock on the office of the new Grand Lady. "Vy have worked so hard for so many years. . ." She hummed as she stepped into the room, a fresh vase of roses offered to the woman along with a bottle of black liquid. "Eam so proud of vy, as mamej and papej would be also. Let us break in this room with a glass of Carrion like the old days."

Liesbeth-Marie looked to the missive, mixed feelings within her, though she was endlessly happy for her friend to achieve such a position within court. "Sveta will do good," she'd murmur to herself.

Marus Weiss peered to the missive with sceptisim. He took a long, slow breath wondering if his words had caused disorder. And, yet, he certainly thought the retirement for the best. Setting the paper aside, he buried his head in his hands, lost in what he should do.

Thank you ivery, you've been fantastic!!!

4 minutes ago, UnBaed said:

Rezalisa found herself swamped with more paperwork in these days, as she had come to officially govern the territory Kovgrad and gradually took to weaving her own webs of trade and connections.  She took to sifting through them in the evenings as she wound down from her general duties throughout her hold, pale eyes examined various scrolls and letters delivered to her by wing or hand.

As she came to spy this announcement, there was a glimmer of surprise in her gaze and she tilted her head.  The Kovachev had recalled the years of work Lady Deia had put in to the courts before she ascended as Grand Lady; she felt as if there were no one better for the position.  Though, of course, perhaps there was bias in this thought--given how she looked up to Deia much like a mother in her life.

When she thought of Svetlana, however, she saw someone closer to a sister for her years spent in Vidaus' hold of Morteskvan.  Yet. . when she considered the position of Grand Lady, there wasn't as much confidence.  A part of her felt guilt to think such a judgemental thought to a warm face in her life, yet it still lingered in her mind despite her dissatisfaction.   She'd hardly glimpsed Svetlana in the courts for years, perhaps even a decade; so early upon her return to the public that Ruthern had quickly found herself in the warm graces of Her Majesty.  Perhaps there was unknown bond shared between them, kept hushed from the rest of the courts.

A sigh then left Rezalisa as she sat back in her seat, what good did it do to linger on these thoughts of the courts anyways?  She had work to do in Kovgrad.  Her eyes shifted to the windows then, as she looked over the red flags billowing in the wind; the distant silhouette of the capital visible past them contrasting against the sunset.

Major shame that iv3ry got forced out of her position OOCly for this, alongside all of the other cases of mistreatment she was put through.  A new player to the Kingdom does not deserve what she was put through, when all of her intents were focused on RP and bettering the community.  All she's gotten in return for this is complaints and becoming isolated from everyone for having different opinions.

Spoiler

Other posts got scrubbed so I'm just going to echo UnBaeds point here. All facts. Straight up.

"Congratulations!" exclaim the Count of Salia, happy for his old time friend Svetlana, knowing she'll do good work in the Courts to further it all, having experienced the festival she hosted, he knew whatever she did next would be a splendid time to attend.

Beówulf raised a horn of mead in little Sveta's honor. "Skål!"

Elsewhere, beyond the walls of Valdev, a wild woman took account of the missive which had someone found its way to her hands. It was soon then crumbled and left to a blaze as she found herself unsure how to feel of these circumstances and how they had been brought.

The Lady Korvacz pursed her lips upon sighting of the missive in hand. Her sister-in-law had risen in the courts and her husband hadn't even told her. Of course she didn't care for most of it, having left due to a false promise of new faces. Oh well.

Congratulations liberty! I know you've had the grand lady position in mind for a while and I'm ecstatic to see you receive it. I wish it had been under better circumstances that weren't OOCly forced upon Ivery because others could not find patience in themselves.

"As one leaves another enters. And if you ask me it was the right time. Deia served well in her own right through the many years working in the courts and later as Grand Lady herself. It's time to pass the tourch one that seems motivated to put forth the Queen's work for the courts. May Svetlana serve well." Sigmund Ludovar states upon reading the missive.

Spoiler

Personally, I do not think it was OOCly based. Believe it was a time for change more than anything. Either way, taking aim at people in a spoiler and such is lame. If you have a problem sort it out with the people personally. This helps no one at all. Have a good day.

A young bard lamented, and her strings held no joy.
A friend she had considered, the one to employ.
Anxiety takes hold, as change comes to bear.
To stay or to leave, what would she dare?

One last melody in Haense she would sing,

One last song her voice would bring.

Oh lady Deia, most kind friend to thee
For y'to leave is a sorry sigh' to see.
Forget ya I shan', y'were th'bes'
Bes' er luck to y'successor, ahead lies quite th'test.
Beloved y'are, never forge'

To y'lady Deia, ay am always en y'debt.

Spoiler

Sorry, I'm burnt out. It was real!
