The Herald of Embers poured over the missive. They had none to quip to, yet failed to contain their excitement at the prospect of what might follow.

At the promise of war, at the acceleration the zealot deeply craved, the wraith rejoiced...

For the jihad was finally upon them.

Was it better, the spectre wondered, to lock a princess in a tower, or be locked in a tower full of princesses?

The Wraith smiled at such a missive, her gaze rising in thought of such tower. . . Her smile turned to a grin, as one by one her features fizzled out- leaving naught but her shadow as she walked on.

"Glory to the ICE QUEEN, maker of the great coven. Mother of my kin and the embodiment of iblees ahahahahs." A short witchling hag ran around the northern wasteland of aevos with the missives of their great leader.

Spoiler

A Hag would write a quick letter for a certain knight of Numendil:

"Hello, Petal! I can't wait to fight alongside you. We, of the old dark, shall assist your people's quest of saving your princess and bring her back to you! You got a hag on your side, and if that does not help you, nothing can! See you on the battlefield."

- Your Spider, Igarashi Jorogumo.

A xionist- err vitalist orc used this missive as rolling paper for her cactus green as she walked to halls of the frost witch lair.

Ilyana, rejoicing in the recent victories of the northern covenant, read the missive - a slight tinge of disappointment coming to her mind.

Another city off the menu. But who was she to question Naele? Certainly, she had led them to unimaginable glory thus far. So she gathered weaponry, for the inevitable slaughter of Xion.

Caraneth was very confused about how exactly her kingdom was ending up third-wheeling in the spook turf war. She sat bouncing between ideas and endeavors and conflicting opinions on the matter for a time. Though she chose ultimately not to argue; all the better if her enemies chose to weaken one another.

Victor sat in his camp. His eye read through the first letter with great interest. Having recently been put to the head of the New Crusade, he'd click his tongue. Things were started off on a good note...!

His face would, sink, a bit, reading those first words.

Hello, Petal...

The ranger-knight shivered, recalling the cold that crept, the warmth that left, and the scar left upon his head once the mark had healed. He'd fold the letter with some disgust, and, read no further.

Asphodel, the Boreal Witch, waits cutely for her magic teacher to actually teach her so she can be as useful as possible for the upcoming war, as opposed to a living ice bolt factory. She considers making some banners and embroidering them all pretty like for her sisters.
