During September of 2024, we saw a total of 221 applications submitted and reviewed. Out of these, 103 new players were accepted! Our accepted/denied percentage ratio during September was 103/118.

We currently have a number of projects that are currently in the works from the media team, all in different stages of production. As well as a number of ongoing interviews for new potential members of the media team. All in all, not much to say right now, but keep your eyes out as loads of new projects will soon be dropping!

the application process in general is extremely scuffed and unfair towards new players. most of it is a consequence of the application requirement (which requires admin/telanir approval to alter or change) itself being unclear in what it actually wants out of new players, such as the powergaming/metagaming questions being phrased oddly, players being  put on pending/denied for not including stuff on their app that they weren't told they should have even included in the first place, or just nitpicky stuff in general

I'm a strong believer in a very liberal application process and I think it would immensely increase our rate of player retention if whitelist application requirements were lessened. the only thing a new player realistically needs to know to join LOTC is the basics, such as powergaming, metagaming, that we're a text based RP, what kind of character they're playing, and maybe basic information about the race they're playing. there's no reason a player needs to be denied because their skin has red eyes as a human, or they didn't include a specific detail about their character, or because their backstory isn't long enough. these are all things a player can learn and adapt to as they play the server and it doesn't hurt anything whatsoever

I appreciate the people who do apps a ton. Over the past month we have had people waiting 5+ days to join and I even spoke to a few in Wandering Souls chat who had waited for longer. We appreciate those who grind out applications and keep the server flowing. Shoutout to @Blake0205for grinding apps during bedwars.

most of the denied applications are because of players who are placed on pending (meaning their application has some errors that need to be changed) and they just never end up changing it before the time limit so they are denied. sometimes they make another application, sometimes they don't.
