"It's over," the Princeps of Ivoria shouted, as he departed from his keep, with his punishment of having to end the siege. This was a devastation, surely. "Effective immediately, lower the canons! Lower the banners! We're going home!"

"Bah...."  The knight grumbles to himself, readying the cannons to be towed away by the donkeys "such foolishness... but alas tis the will of his holiness..."

Lorelei Mairi, the rightful Countess of Enswerp, smiled as she read the missive that had just crossed her desk. “God always provides for the innocent,” she mused, her heart swelling with hope. “Now, whom shall I consult to restore my lands and replant the trees? The Keens have left quite a mess in their poor attempts of a siege.”

A former creature of the Hell's watches, in mute disappointment, as battlements are torn down and cannons wheeled away from a distant treeline.

It beckons away the gathering behind with it - to more vicious pastures it will roam.

A young Alwin Ludovar, interested in canonist law, would set the missive of the verdict down after reading it in his family's keep. "Ea can't believe grown adults would act so recklessly without the approval of the church!"  he'd say to himself in bewilderment. "Ea would hope the Church will have someone keepin' a keen eye on those bagools to make sure they aren't stirring up more trouble," he would giggle to himself, amused by his pun.
