ȶhey sat there together, leaders of the various Maehr groups of Cauróst. Discussions had been going on for hours at this point. The final signature had been penned down, the one of the High Prince. Aytheln, Veluc and Marywen sat under a gazebo. One that recently has been the scene of so many meetings.

They knew what they had before them was only the start, the foundation of something bigger, something that would set their kin on a new direction at last.

The plight of their kin would soon be over, the diaspora was to come to an end.

ʅaybuurel-kerukyl, or the Ashen Union is a collective of Maehr guilds all found within the Prinicipality of Cauróst. Together, the leaders of the Ramasarian Company and the Ashen Union and Clan Tudorix, known throughout this document as the signatories, agree to the following terms:

ӄ¤ʅ ¤ӄαᵲʊʅɛʅ αɛȶɦ ψɛȶαɱψչɦ - On the protection of persons

  1. The signatories agree that any external threat made against one of their individuals, is to be treated as one against the entire Union.

  1. The signatories strive to sort any attacks on their kin diplomatically first, regardless of who may have committed an offense against them.

  1. The signatories agree to create a mutually shared storage of both weaponry and armour, so that they are able to arm their members.

  1. The signatories agree to further expand the distribution of daggers from the Uhshom edict towards all Maehr active within the signatories’ groups.

  2. The signatories agree to combat any darkspawn threats, found within or outside of their ranks. Furthermore do they agree that no member of theirs is to knowingly associated with the dark arts, directly or indirectly.

ӄ¤ʅ ¤ӄαᵲʊʅɛʅ αɛȶɦ ӄαʂψ - On the protection of culture

  1. The signatories agree to work to preserve the cultural integrity of their groups, but also to spread their ways to Maehrzh interests. They agree to host language and history lessons, as well as to teach the wanderers amongst their people the ways of the true Maehrzh.

  1. The signatories agree to ban the mixing of Maehryl blood with that of other descendants, malyl or otherwise. Further they agree to disallow romantic relations with non-maehr.
    1. Should one of their members indulge in such sinful behavior, they will seek to set them on the right path again, rather than casting them out.
    2. The non-Maehr of the couple that has engaged in this, is to be banished from interacting with the Union any further.
    3. Failure to adhere to these terms by the offending Maehr, will result in them being cast out from the Union, and its member groups.

  1. The signatories agree to protect the cultural practices of their own kin through whatever means necessary. They agree that no Maehr should be subject to the cultural influences of the other races, but only to those of their own blood.
    1. They agree to provide education to Maehrzh who have fallen under the influence of foreign ideals and cultures, not befitting of their noble kin.
    2. They agree that no Maehr should be blamed for the corruption of their mind, if they have only ever known these foreign influences.

  2. The signatories agree that the Union is officially based in the Princedom of Cauróst, and agree to recognize it as the only safe haven for Maehrzhel. All members are still beholden to the laws and authority of the Princedom.

  3. While based in Cauróst, the signatories agree that they will invite representatives of all other Maehr groups as advisors to the Council of Ash. Further they agree to encourage cooperation with the groups outside of the Princedom.
  4. The signatories agree to let any willing Maehr or Etamaehr individuals, not part of any of the signing groups, take part in the Union. They may simply add the signature to the missive, and send a letter to any of the Council of Ash' members, confirming such.

Spoiler

Special thanks to the people who have been a part in the various roleplay meetings leading up to the creation of this treaty, it's been a super enjoyable ride so far!

The Dark Elf community is seeing a big revival in Cauróst! If you are ever interesting in playing one, do not hesitate to reach out to myself either here, in game (Zhikarta) or on discord ( qraw_ )

Karys Marinnor, fellow ashen elf, hummed to herself in a tone of agreement as she read through the missive.

A regal and refined Maehr read over the contents of this newly implemented concordant with approval. Her fingers ran along the parchment as she read it's contents. "The Dark Elves will see prosperity with this, we shall see a golden age for our people once more."

[!] The Elfess signed her name as instructed

The bardic Maehr mindlessly roamed birch forests near, strumming a tune much the sameone that glided 'mongst the flora, yet made no rustle of the leaf. Canaries and finches near offered their chirps, though they remained hidden in natural canopy.  "'Fore the moon became the moon; she looked towards the stars, envy in her eyes." Came an odd saying from his lips, 'fore they uttered nothing more than a simple hum.

Needless to say, it was a union most certainly enjoyed.

As the Etamaehr read the missive that was given to her, the female would take in the words that was spoken to her. It would be left deeply in her mind, to not be cast out. Majority of her life she was always casted out due to her race- it was never her fault for what had happened.

"The Ashen Union, a place where every maehr can be accepted it. I hope this missive will continue to be successful with the impact it's already accomplished."

[!] The human-dark elfess hybrid, would place the missive on a hard surface as she began writing her signature. [!]

After reading over the document, Kamina would scribble her name alongside the others.

Sometime later, A crimson eyed ker signed her name as well. though hers was far more legible.

A young dark elf, just wanting a community, was quick to sign the paper when presented with it. It was a messy signature, but was at least readable.

Velkyn Seeris.

The elf shook his head. He made up his mind. With haste, he signed his name. It seemed a bit sloppy, but overall it still seemed readable. He then passed it over. “Thank you.”

His name was now written on the document.

Much thought had crossed before a signature had been made, Zathros pondering the notion of a purpose at last. To be with a community, one that would accept and guide him, where others never could. And so, after further deliberation, ink was taken to parchment, and the name was signed.

The elfess went to sign the parchment. It was clear that while her handwriting was well practiced, her signature was not at all. regardless, the name stood sound and clear:
