Bait title.

Post anything about either IRL or LOTC history that interests you. Doesn't need to be in-depth, though it's appreciated, can just be a general topic that you think others should read about.

personally I feel everyone should read Roadside Picnic by Arkady & Strugatsky, it's a short novel but it basically is the centrepiece of which STALKER is based on; Soviet Union allegory with the deep question of the reality of human autonomy and how our society may perceive and understand advanced intelligence

I'm reading a book about Metternich by Wolfram Siemann and it's really made me admire the man I hadn't known much about before. It seems like he correctly understood that the revolutionary spirit was coming from the press and the universities, which must have been hard to tell back then and is still true today. Next I plan to read Kissinger's treatment and then move on to Tallyrand.

genealogy is so ******* fun. I am absolutely obsessed with LOTC's big ass human family tree, I could look at it for hours. But even in other games that is always the fun part for me, like in the sims or any game where one can have a family. Genetics is also super interesting as well. When I was in middle school there was this game I played where you could breed horses, and I had so much damn fun with trying to get the best horse with the prettiest colors.

The stories of real people during world war 2. On both sides, what drove them, what made them take the choices they did, etc. Listening to some very interesting podcasts about that shit. Losing myself in it

recently just wrote my bachelors dissertation on catholic and protestant literary portrayals of the clergy in eighteenth-century england (-: it's more fascinating than you would have thought in terms of subtext and context to the period and i highly encourage people to deep dive into the subject when they have the chance (recommend the gothic novel 'the monk' by matthew gregory lewis as a starting point).
