What the **** is a daemonic soul?

Beyond that though this is pretty cool. Good writing, and it's clear you put a lot of effort in.

Love this magic, but holy **** that time for learning the magic is abysmal. Lotc should not be a part-time job, 4 months is insane bro. at least like equalize it to Templars of 12 weeks.

Pretty good write. Lot of spells, though.

You can only pick one miracle so it's 8 spells for a [3] slot MA with a few rituals to go with it, which I think is OK

Thnx for metagaming, metagamer. Even though Llort (Troll backwards) is the forgotten god somehow Clerics (Paladins) know that & heh.. HATE US? Well! You've just earned yourself a rightful spot in the Dj*nn blacklist buddy! For dare trying to oppose us and our secret cabalic stranglehold over the server.

Heh. I'm comin for you...

i did want to bring up some concerns though -- i'm unsure why clerics have an armor restriction to light armor, esp when medium armor in the form of mail is a huuuge staple in fantasy for clerics (looking at you Shadowheart !!).

however I don't agree in the slightest that the magic should bar a cleric from wearing medium armors (or even heavy but that's besides the point.)

I will say that for the record I fully agree. The decision to keep clerics locked to light-armor is in light (get it?) of LT feedback for previous cleric writes where they've all been quite adamant about keeping clerics as robe-wearing spellcasting holy-types. I think it still fits the fantasy of a cleric quite well, and If LT decide to change their mind about this in the review I'm more than willing to allow for the compatibility.

Johann, honey, can you hit me with the tldr this lore is as long as mysticism; ******* gorgeous though brilliant work to you and other writers

Of course. I'll even throw in a subway surfers video if u get bored halfway..

Tldr; Clerics are holy-casters that are agents of Tah's purity and justice, who has a divine hateboner for anything that fucks with your soul and make you impure. Clerics can use priest healing (out of combat healing), incantations (combative damage-dealing spells) and ONE miracle that they pick upon reaching T5 (their epic ult spell basically). They're holy-mages so they also have cutesy stuff like holy casting implements, a system to gain their God's favor by doing deeds, and a few neato rituals to judge spooks and let people peacefully pass on!

I don't believe daemonic "soul" was ever mentioned in the lore. If you meant daemonic CAs, they're just soul-warped CAs with DIRECT associations with Daemons, i.e. Djinn, Azdrazi, and Moroi (pending admin approval). Beast CAs are on the Apostate list as they are objectively freaks of nature created by the daemon Metztli. A similar line of reasoning applies to Greater Dragonkin with Dragur.

As much as I also dislike the 4 month progression system that voidal magics have, I do think Clerics in particular are a unique case because you're pretty much going to be building your character /around/ clericism by taking it up which I think warrants a longer progression than standard. Tahariae would also (understandably), be demanding of clerics who DO want to reach the precipice of his powers, hence the steep jump between T4 and T5 - he isn't just going to give anyone MAX tier of his magic.

Even asides from this, you already have access to the vast majority of your kit (7/8 spells, 3/4 rituals) at T4, which is more than enough to cover your day-to-day as a cleric as they're your bread and butter.

“Undroppable” magics such as Necromancy, Mysticism and Naztherak are overruled by Tahariae’s divine authority, where their blighted soul is recovered and restored to the creator’s original image.

It’s a cool magic, however I’m real iffy about the Redemption ritual thingy. By having the option of getting rid of these major character-influencing magics, it takes away from the brutality of not being able to rid yourself of it. It’s supposed to be punishing, damning, and permanent for a character to take on. Having this ritual kinda just wipes that feeling of “no going back” which I’m really not a fan of at all.

itd be nicer if the ritual wasn’t for the types of magics that can’t be dropped by natural means.

I am not arguing for compatibility, I am pointing out the Klone does not have a warped soul because nothing about tawkin touches the soul. Should have probably clarified
