Still Here, Still Writing

 

A Beginning

Hi everyone.

with a new year approaching it felt like the right moment to finally say hello properly and share a little of my journey here. 

 

So hey, my name is Lavender, or Lav, I joined LOTC in May of 2021, at the time when real life was overwhelming and heavy like many people, i came here to escape when reality felt like too much, i came here to exist in a world that felt a little more manageable but what I didn't expect was how deeply this place would affect my life. 

My Identity within the server

I've always been a fantasy player at heart, I don't think I've ever truly fit anywhere else. I'm the type of person who grew up obsessed with everything fantastical, Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, Narnia, you name it. 

 

Since joining i've always roleplayed as an elf, its my main go to, ad honestly i've always refused to play anything else, not out of stubbornness but because due to comfort, i joined the server to escape reality, playing lets say a human makes me feel like im stepping into something a little too close to home. Playing a fantasy creature helps me distance myself from the real world which can feel far to loud or fast.

Struggling with a sense of belonging

Right now much like I have in the past, I'm struggling to find where I belong again, not just as a player, but for my character too. I feel a little out of place, I'm caught between wanting connection and not quite knowing where either of us fit. 

 

Over the years, LOTC has given me communities that felt like home, like a family, and I've lost them as well. I've formed meaningful connections, and then watched them fade. I've come to find out just how deeply an online space can affect you, for better and for worse. LOTc has supported my mental health at times, and at others, it has honestly undeniably strained it. 

Gaining something incredibly important through the server

But that being said LOTC has given me something that i will forever be grateful for

 

Through this server, i met the love of my life, my partner, some may know him as echo, thanks to LOTC i've found the person i intend to spend the rest of my life with and one day marry, in a server that felt unsteady and at times often impossible to stay with, it helping me meet my partner has been my anchor, no matter how complicated my relation with LOTC has been, and may continue to be, meeting my partner here i shall always hold this server in a special space of my heart.  

Looking forward

I've had my ups and downs, long breaks and quiet returns, I've had times I've enjoyed the server and moments I've also questioned if I even belonged here at all, but somehow I'm still here. 

 

And as a new year approaches, im trying to hold onto what this server has meant to me, a space i can be creative, a place i can escape to, and a place i can meet individuals i can connect with.

Honestly, got the same issue here. Doesn't feel like there are a lot of places oocly and irply matching my characters. Despite that, you've been amazing. I haven't spoken to you recently but the times of celianor were fun, playing games outside Minecraft to.

P.S. I would love to play games with Echo sometime, can I have him for a bit?

it truly is difficult at the moment, but thank you, you've been amazing too, it has been a really long time since we last spoke, we use to have a lot of us fun together and honestly i wish it was still the same as back then, your more then welcome to join us again if youd like but im not giving up my fiance even for a minuet, hes mine XD

Before I met you I use to have a dark twisted view when it came to this server. Got to a point where I thought everyone was selfish and manipulative. But since I met you, It paved me to a new point of view of this server. I am very appreciative of you. Thank you, Lav. For being my best friend.
