The prices aren't too high. I rent out very cheap rooms, but noone is interested.

If you want a home in Al'Khazar you should be quite wealthy, its not weird new people can't afford them. Besides, Al'Khazar is big enough as it is, there are other places you can live. Continually expanding the city will drain all other Oren villages an towns, and will make it harder for the King to manage.

Main thing is, no one knows where Talun and Winterfell is. I'm sure if there was enough encouragement from royalties and advertisement, people would quickly fill up these towns.

Talun is still under construction at my will. Houses will soon be sold.

The reason people need houses in Alkhazar is because everything happens there and it is good to live in places like that. Every human's stone that contains their soul also leads to Alkhazar so it is just handy to live there, Talun and Winterfell are too far for most to bother travelling to. It is also one of the only towns in Oren. I think only mansions should cost more than 17,000 and that there should be slums for the really poor to live.

Cheap, affordable housing is planned for the future, in and around Al'Khazar. (Or the new human capital in the 1.9 map.)

I stayed the night in Oren once when I was hiding from a few cutthroats, and I have to say the house prices were more likely to kill me then the people who I witnessed commit murder.

The house prices should be lowered, but still higher than they used to be. A slum home costing 12000 is, just a bit outrageous.

Edmund's prices were fine, even then we had a problem, we still had many homeless but that wasn't the prices fault, we just didn't have any houses for sale.

What's odd about the slums is that the homes really aren't that poor. The houses usually have 3 floors, and even with such little space per floor, are in a good position in Al'Khazar. I may not be expensive, but the position does give it a nice (well, maybe not nice) atmosphere. Even so, they prices there should definitely not be 12,000. perhaps 4,000-5,000; maybe lower depending on size.

Yes, when I see homes and plots going for 15-50,000 minas, i think it's a bit expensive.

Granted, I paid 20k for my shop, but that's a shop, and it's in prime location. I saved up a long time to get it, a house should be cheaper.

Aye, the slum houses are actually very big, they just look ugly. If we could have a district of one story slums that are VERY cheap then we'd have a lot less people living in the streets.

The absurdly high price of the houses is one of the main reasons why Al Khazar is a ghost town

Some prices in Al'Khazar are a bit absurd and that's probably the reason why there are so many empty houses at the moment, but I think that is the high cost of living in the capitol. The prices in Galahar and Winterfell are very reasonable, with both towns about a days march tops away from Al'Khazar.

I don't know if slums will be that good, since a halfway active player probably will outgrow such a small shelter very quickly. There are plenty of Inns in and around the city for exactly that purpose.

Main thing is, no one knows where Talun and Winterfell is. I'm sure if there was enough encouragement from royalties and advertisement, people would quickly fill up these towns.

I moved to Winterfell, because of the good housing offers. New housing is for sale there right now. As soon as you leave Al'Khazar through the north gate, signs make it easy to find Winterfell and Celestine for that matter.

P.S. While I'm at it. Does anybody live in New Alstion? It looks like a real ghost town to me and with the upcoming re-build of Celestine and Winterfell located so close to it, it doesn't seem to hold its own amongst the northern towns.
