((I'd like to know who these orcish shaman are that are being played by the Undead players, Brevias and AllentheGreat, also possibly Vardak. Nothing against them, I think they're solid role-players, it's just extremely confusing to see them popping in and out of character, changing their alts, etc. Just today we've got Brevias rolling into a Shaman Council meeting when I've never even seen his orcish shaman character in-game in the three months I've been here. AllentheGreat was casting lightning in the palace throne room a while back and hanging around as a shaman and Vardak has rolled through Sanjezal in an Or'Gok mask once before, then a cactus mask. What the hell is going on here? How do we factor these characters into the role-play when they're just showing up on a whim and most of us have no idea who they are?))

(breavis is not undead anymore, and is completely back as a elder shaman of krugmar. he has been around for like maybe 2 week he even had a hut in the verge. but his not that active.)

Okay, thanks, makes sense now. I thought I had heard somewhere that he was an orc once before. Vulgrak's usually just messing around in a disguise. I just wasn't sure if him or Allen were Krugmar orcs once again or just playing a temporary character role slash taking a break from having their robes sniffed by guards. I haven't been as active during peak times lately.

Vardak is not actually a shaman. He likes to show up sometimes just for fun, but its not actually meant to be super-serious official roleplay. Just light-hearted fun.

Brevias was originally a Shaman, in fact he is from the second generation of Shaman, before his character turned undead. His character was then cured of his undeadness and Brevias has since returned to acting as a Shaman. From time to time he will roleplay as a nameless undead just to bolster their ranks when necessary, because he still has his undead magic and the undead sometimes require a little extra man power. However Brevias the Character is 100% cured of undeadness and has returned to Krugmar as a Shaman.

I don't know who AllentheGreat is (he sounds familiar but the details surrounding him escape me) but he is not a Shaman lorewise nor does he have an characters who are Shaman. He may be in the same boat as Vardak, however I do not know him and cannot say.

((Alright, makes sense now. Like I said, they're all solid in my book, just needed some clarification as I've been seeing them more and more in different roles lately.))

(( Yeah, I became a shaman way back before Tre'bok and all that. However, I became undead whilst Sanhar was being constructed. So the majority of people won't remember me.))

I have another queztion for our little thread. What to you all makes a place feel shamanistic? For me it should be natural and yet unnatural. Like large caverns that have everlasting fires or intricate carvings in the walls. I kind of feel like spirits would be xrawn to places that the more attuned orcs that become shamans reside, and their collective energy would increass the flow of life, making things rather fantastical like giant trees or floating crystals and sparkles of burning mana, or strangely vivacious animals or plant life.

And also what do some of the spirtis look like to you? For me my little fire spirit is this cute little floating blorb of lava with eyes of the oal, and my storm spirit is basically a zappy Quetzaquatl rip.

I love giving forms to things that really dont need them... dunno why.. like neds adorable little plant spirit in the shape of a white doe fawn with plants growing all over her back and where she walks about. So skahin adorable~!

I get a natural, yet also mystical vibe. What separates us from the Druids is that off-kilter, spiritual dream-world sort of concept. Pretty much like walking around in the wilderness while tripping on acid.

My water spirit's a bloated, dead orc covered in eels that can liquify and vaporize, "possessing" bodies to some extent through their water content. Spirit of savagery is a self-mutilant that can transmogrify grotesquely, body parts oozing or falling off, taking other forms, etc. He rides a doomsday beast that also decays and becomes butchered into various forms, such as a wild horse, boar, and warg. The nature spirit's pretty interesting, and sort've what I imagined for her.

I considered summoning a spirit of laziness that was pretty much a walking chair that would gallop over to me on command to sit on. Not happening.

Im glad you like her. Ive been excited to use her ever since she came up in a a dream on mine I had in my medicated stupor during surgery. You seemed like rhe.perfect person to hand her off to, and you better treat her well!

Quezacolt from FFVIII/the Final Fantasy Series in general? Thats the only representation I can think of where the Aztec god was depicted as anything storm related.

If you want to join the Shaman, you must find an Elder willing to train you. It's that simple.

As for what I think of Shamany, I perceive altars and sights of reverence towards spirits (be it elements, ancestors, or immortal spirits) as shamany. No prettiness or strange magical occurances which cannot be explained outside of a natural level (that seems like more something Mages would be doing).
