The Official Salvus Military

Introduction

'ail citizens of Salvus, as many of you 'ave 'eard, I 'ave been appointed as t'e new 'igh Constable of the Peacekeepers. I understand t'at since I am new ter t'is nation many of yer will not know me too well and so I'd like ter introduce myself ter t'ose people. My name is Valen Blackaxe, t'e second son of Decks Blackaxe, fat'er of t'e mighty Blackaxe clan and noble 'ouse of Karik. I am a Dwarf, as yer can tell and fer many years, I 'ave served as a Grand Councilor of Kal'Urguan. 'owever, I took t'e decision ter resign from my position in Kal'Urguan, due ter clan conflict and petty rivalries t'at broke t'e nation apart. Many of yer will know me as I often served as an Ambassador and spokesperson fer King Thorik but I 'ave also 'eld other positions in Kal'Urguan, includin' Longbeard of t'e Legion and previously, I was a Guard Officer. I 'ave chosen ter move ter Salvus as I am very impressed wit' t'e developments in t'e city and I know t'at in t'e past, Dawn and Enor 'ave served as great allies of t'e Dwarves.

I 'ave 'ad many past experiences in battlin' wit' both the livin' and t'e dead, includin' battles such as t'e Battle of Wrath's Clutch and the fall of Al'Khazar, in which I was in command of t'e Dwarven forces on t'e ground. Many of yer may also know me fer bein' a veteran from t'e Great War between t'e Dwarves and 'umans, versus t'e Orcs and Elves, where I personally 'elped plan t'e tactics used in many of t'ese battles. It was also Lord Gideon and I 'o organised ter counter attack on t'e Purge at Galahar and I was one of t'e commanders in the Dwarven siege of Alras. In t'e final days of Aegis, I was one of t'e Champions 'o managed ter survived t'e Nether and I was a great friend of Urir Ire'eart, t'e Dwarf 'o sacrificed 'imself ter defeat the undead. In my time as 'igh Constable, I 'ope t'at I can share some of t'ese past experiences wit' yer.

Anyway, as I mentioned, Queen Dawn 'as appointed me as t'e new 'igh Constable of Salvus and so wit' t'is position, I am goin' ter be makin' some changes to t'e current state of t'e military. I 'ave been thinkin' of makin' changes to t'e rankin' structure ter keep t'ings organised and ensure t'at we will be ready, in t'e case of an attack by another nation. T'e begin with, I feel it would benefit us if all of t'e current members of t'e Peacekeepers could come tergether fer a meetin' ter see what people's concerns are and so t'at I can get a chance ter answer any questions, yer may 'ave. After this, I will begin t'e implement w'at I am confident will work ter get t'e Peacekeepers more disciplined and organised.

It 'as come ter my attention t'at in t'e past, Salvus 'as struggled ter fight against a group of bandits, run by a man, known only as "Prince." I 'ave spoken wit' contacts in t'e Dwarven government and we 'ave decided t'at t'ere is a possibility t'at both the Legion and t'e Peacekeepers can work tergether ter bring down t'e bandit group known as t'e 'ollowed Bandits, once and fer all. Fer t'is 'owever, I will 'ave ter quickly begin trainin' and so in t'e days ter come, I will be steppin' up recruitment ter ensure t'at we 'ave a military, capable of takin' down a fort such as t'e one owned by t'e 'ollowed Bandits. There will be more information on t'is in t'e comin' days.

Duties of the Peacekeepers

• Prevent undesirables from entering the city.
  
• Prevent crime within the city.
  
• Arrest and prosecute criminals.
  
• Serve as an army in times of war or great conflict.
  
• Protect and serve the people of Salvus as much as possible.
  
• Obey your superiors.

The Laws of Salvus

*Arrests are made at the descretion of the arresting Peace Keeper in accordance with the laws of Salvus

**Laws may be added or amended at the descretion of the King and Queen

High Constable

He or she acts as Head of the Military, only answering to the King and Queen. This position includes a position on the council. The High Constable reports back to the King and Queen every Sunday, detailing any occurrences in the last elven week.

Role of the High Constable

• He/she is in charge of organizing, implementing and overseeing military exercises at his own discretion, or by order of the King or Queen.
  
• He/she is in charge of leading the Salvus Military and the Salvus Militia into battle.
  
• He/she must organise the recruitment and assignment of new recruits.
  
• He/she is in charge of the promotion and demotion of all Military personnel.
  
• He/she must collect fines from those who have been charged with a crime.
  
• He/she keeps order within the military of Salvus.
  
• He/she must make sure all duties of lower ranking military personnel are being fulfilled.
  
• He/she must make sure the law is upheld by each and every military member of Salvus.
  

Constable

He or she will act as the advisor and personal assistant to the High Constable. The Constable will be personally selected by the High Constable and so if the High Constable is away or not present in Salvus, the Constable will take charge of the Peacekeepers.

Role of the Constable:

• He/she will serve as a commander, helping to lead the Salvus Military and the Salvus Militia into battle.

• He/she helps the High Constable keep order within the military of Salvus.
  
• He/she must make sure all duties of lower ranking military personnel are being fulfilled.

How to become the Constable:

The Constable is selected only by the High Constable and is his/her most trusted member of the Peacekeepers. Commanders who have served in many battles and have proven themselves to be loyal to Salvus and the Peacekeepers have the chance of becoming a Constable. A Peacekeeper will also need the approval of the Queen in order to be promoted to the rank of Constable.

Commanders

There will be three Commanders, each of which take control over a particular duty within the city. It will be their job to ensure that the Peacekeepers beneath them are doing their job correctly so as to ensure that the city is defended to the best possible standard.

• They must help recruit and train the new Recruits and decide when they are ready for a promotion to Peacekeeper.
  
• They must make sure all the laws of Salvus are followed by it’s citizens.
  
• They will help command the main fighting force for Salvus in times of war.
  

How to become a Commander:

Commanders are only selected by the High Constable himself, with recommendations from the Constable and the other Commanders. Only the best and most experienced Peacekeepers can become Commanders of Salvus. This is not easy as for somebody to become a Commander, they will need to have mastered a combat skill (To level 100) and have participated in at least two large battles. Peacekeepers who do their job correctly and achieve more than expected of them, each have the chance to become a Commander.

Peacekeepers

The Peacekeepers are the backbone of the Salvus military. They are regarded as some of the bravest men in the nation of Salvus and are held in high esteem by the people of Salvus. When in the city, Peacekeepers will take on guard duties, protecting the city from potential threats. In times of war however, the Peacekeepers will serve as Salvus's main fighting force, whether defending the city or raiding enemy locations, at the orders of the Queen and the High Constable.

• He/she must report back to a Commander EVERY time he/she makes an arrest/Fine and MUST pay the High Constable the money he fined the Criminal.
  
• They must participate in all training exercises.
  
• They must look out for their trainee and make sure they can handle themselves. If the trainee can not handle themselves it is the Peacekeepers duty to report this to a Commander.
  
• They must make sure all the laws of Salvus are followed by it’s citizens.
  
• They will serve as the main fighting force for Salvus in times of war.
  

How to become a Peacekeeper:

To be considered a full fledged Peacekeeper, a Recruit must go through training. This training can take a couple of forms. The first is being mentored by a Peacekeeper. In this case, a Recruit is partnered with a Peacekeeper and they stay together at all times, hoping that the Recruit will slowly pick up the finer points of being a Peacekeeper. They may also be given training by one of the Commanders such as obsticle courses, survival tests and various forms of combat training. After the Recruit has been recommened to a Commander by the Peacekeeper he has been assigned to, the Commander can decide if they are now eligible for a promotion.

Recruit

Recruits are the people of Salvus who wish to become Peacekeepers and are willing to prove it by going through training everyday and performing duties similar to that of the Peacekeepers. Each Recruit will have a Peacekeeper who will look out for them and make sure they are able to handle the tough job of being a Peacekeeper.

Role of the Recruits:

• They must make sure all the laws of Salvus are followed by it’s citizens.
  
• The Peacekeepers in training can not make arrests or fine people however they can detain criminals and must inform a peacekeeper of the crime immediately.
  
• In battles and raids, they will serve the same purpose as the Peacekeepers. They MUST follow every order given to them so as not to endanger any of the other Peacekeepers.
  

How to become a Recruit:

To become a recruit, you will first have to fill out an application form. After the application has been accepted, one of the Commanders will give you a a short interview and then a test to determine any knowledge and skills that you can bring forward to the Peacekeepers. Once this is done, the Commander can choose to accept or deny you. If you are accepted, you will then be assigned to one of the groups as a Recruit.

Guard Rota

Ter keep t'ins' more organised, I am settin' up a guard rota which will be switched around every Elven week. Each of t'e Commanders will be in charge of one of t'ese duties and t'ey will be responsible fer makin' sure t'at t'e Peacekeepers under 'em are doin' t'ere jobs correctly. As I still need ter recruit some Commanders, I will be discussin' with Vrol as ter 'o 'e would recommend. 'ere is t'e current rota fer t'e week. If yer group does not yet 'ave a Commander, yer will answer ter t'e Peacekeeper of t'e group.

Border Patrol - This is patrolling the city's borders, including the outer city, to look out for any strange occurences that should then be reported to the Commander.

Gate Duty - This is ensuring that those who pass through the gate are not there to cause harm to the citizens of Salvus. You should ask their name and business and make sure that they reveal their faces so as not to let in anyody who could cause trouble.

Each Peacekeeper will receive no monetary pay. Instead, their armour, weapons, food, and housing will be provided by the government. Each Peacekeeper will also be allowed to keep any armour, weapons or supplies looted during battles or raids.

The Salvus Milita

The Salvus Militia are those citizens of Salvus who do not wish to perform the regular guard duties of the Peacekeepers but still wish to fight for them in times of war. There is no application to become a member of the Salvus Militia but they must contact the High Constable if they wish to join. Members of the Salvus Militia can be trained by the Peace Keepers, providing they follow orders and are loyal to Salvus. Anybody found breaking the law or found being unloyal to Salvus will be immediately dismissed from the Salvus militia.

I wish to further protect my people and serve in any way I can. Even if it comes down to giving my life, I will gladly do it. To protect all of Salvus, from Queen Dawn, to the lowest of citizens, to serve and do my part, to follow orders without hesitation, to help defend, sort out situations, and when the time comes, bring justice. Its not about the minas, its about the people. I would be more than honored if i could join the military and do my best to serve my people in every way possible.

What military experience (if any) do you have: I have tons of experience. I have helped local militias, fought in the Aegis Undead and Ibless wars, and have been in the guard of a small city far North of Seventis.

Why do you wish to join the Peacekeepers:

I wish to further protect my people and serve in any way I can. Even if it comes down to giving my life, I will gladly do it. To protect all of Salvus, from Queen Dawn, to the lowest of citizens, to serve and do my part, to follow orders without hesitation, to help defend, sort out situations, and when the time comes, bring justice. Its not about the minas, its about the people. I would be more than honored if i could join the military and do my best to serve my people in every way possible.

What military experience (if any) do you have: I have tons of experience. I have helped local militias, fought in the Aegis Undead and Ibless wars, and have been in the guard of a small city far North of Seventis.

Have you read and understood the military order and laws post? (Name one of the laws of high accord and the fines that can be imposed from it.):

I have deeply studied the laws and understand each one, A law of high accord would be "Killing of livestock" including Pigs, Sheep, Cows, and Chicken. The Fines Are: 2000-5000 minas. Also possibly jail time 3 to 7 Minecraft days, execution, and even banishment from salvus and also can be seized of all possessions and land located in Salvus.

((not to start an argument but taps2316 why are you applying when you're a criminal? you still havent done your sentence and you own the city 3000 minas for your fine.))
