Couple of things I don't quite understand about halflings...

If I am not mistaken, Halflings are the the hybrids of Dwarves and Humans in LotC lore (if I'm wrong about this, please correct me). With that said, wouldn't their height be between dwarves and humans? Meaning they're taller then dwarves? Also with that said wouldn't they be just as strong as a dwarf/human?

I've seen people claim that halflings shouldn't be using swords well or even be able to fight, but a dwarf can fight just fine as well as a human so I was just wondering how that actually plays out.

((I have always thought they have the stature of a dwarf but the physique of a human. Making them incredibly weak. Dwarves are short but robust making them ideal warriors. Halflings are meek and unaggressive due to their short height and small size. In essence they are like human children.))

OOC: We are indeed shorter than dwarves. The precise reason is unknown, but the increased shrinkage is most likely due to either an outside force such as a curse way back when, or inbreeding and evolution over time. I mentioned it a little in a History of Halflings.

With that said, we also don't focus on fighting, we focus on farming. Therefore, we have little to no experience with a sword.

Indeed, the majority of halflings are fairly non-violent. Of course, if a halfling decided to become a thief, they could certainly become adept at wielding a dagger or shortsword. In the old days, many halflings were thieves of the sort. It's all explained better in A History of Halflings, which is now in the Halfling RP section, as well.

((Halflings have their own lore in the lotc universe, but they are for all intents and purposes, hobbits. At least, that's how I've always seen it. In the Lord of the Rings Books, I think frodo is called a halfling a few times.))
