The dim light of the moon slowly lights your path as you trudge through the deep snows of Hanseti. The cold wind pierces you like a dagger as you make your way ever closer to the capital of Dresden. You feel utterly alone whilst making your solemn journey there. Suddenly, a shrill cry pierces the stark silence of the night. You ignore the noise, figuring it to just be a wolf calling out into the blackness of the night. Nevertheless you pick up your pace slightly and begin to briskly walk. Once again the eerie cry fills your eardrums, yet it sounds closer. You begin to worry and once more pick up your pace. After walking for a few minutes more you slow yourself to catch your breath. As you do so a large footprint in the snow catches your eye. The footprint is large, looking almost Orc in nature, but you realise the footprint’s claws are much too large to be those of an Orc. Your curiosity sparked you bend down to get a closer look at the strange marking.

After studying the footprint for a few moments a sound rings out that fills you with fear. You hear a loud roar that bellows from what seems to be right behind you. You freeze for a moment, your mind filling with images of the terrible creature that could have made such a sound. Without another thought you take off sprinting. You run for what seems like an eternity before you reach Dresden. You turn around just before the gates. As your head turns you are just able to catch a glimpse of what seems to be a large white blur running back into the mountains of Hanseti.

Tired and shaken from this experience, you decide to head to the tavern for an ale and relaxation. As you enter the lively tavern, the smell of ale and the sound of jovial conversation drift towards you. The tavern is packed but you are able to find a place to sit next to a grizzled looking old man. You sip a tall ale as you glance around the room. You can’t help but notice the man staring at you. Before you get a chance to say something to the old coot he speaks in a gruff voice.

“Ye seen it ain’t ye. Don’t think I don’t know what ye seen. I can see the fear in yer eyes.”

Unsure of what he means, you shake your head slowly.

“Don’t play dumb. I ‘eard the roars from ‘ere. They ring out almost every night. They say it roams the mountains lookin’ fer travellers teh bring back teh ‘is lair teh eat. It’s huge, they say; almost 4 Dwarves tall. Starin’ inteh its snow white coat is like lookin’ death in the eyes. It’s dark black claws are longer than the fangs ove the Rex ‘imself and ‘e can cleave a man in two with a single swipe. Not even the Sariants are brave enough teh seek it out. They call ‘im the... Yeti.”

All of a sudden the old man bursts out laughing as if the whole conversation has been one big joke. Unsure of the man’s sudden outburst you stay silent.

“At least that is what they say. But who believes in those fairytales aneh way. I mean there is no way this “Yeti of Hanseti” could beh real? Right?”

You shake your head slowly. As you finish the last of your ale you stand up and begin to exit the crowded building. You see the sun slowly begin to peek out above the crests of the mighty Hansetian mountains, and you stop to admire this beautiful scene. As you do, you swear that you can barely make out a sort of roar emanating from the mountains. Perhaps the old man wasn’t joking at all?

sitting near a campfire with Bill in the frozen mountains NE of Hanseti. The two men hear an animal call sound out through the valley below, noticing some shock in Bills eyes, Lion begins telling a story.

You here that Bill? Thats the ol' eddy, he roams the night in search of lone recruits passing to and fro. On a night very similar to this we heard a cry of a recruit, followed by a huge roar, when we showed up all that was left of the poor lad was his chewed up arm and several pints of blood all over. tends to the fire We tracked the attacker up to this very mountain, and when we thought we were getting close a mighty shout of aggression rained down upon us, the new bloods ran frantic and Maur, Dain, and I had to go get them, but right as we passed this spot we noticed the recruits bloody sword still in its scabbard laying right over there in the snow. Ol' Eddy ate the boy before he could even pull his sword. They say Eddy only targets recruits because their easy prey, I cant deny that. Lion laughs and stomps out the fire, "we dont want to attract anything to us while we sleep." Lion lays down and leaves Bill to his thoughts.

(( I am very happy that y'all like it. Someone, most likely not me, will be playing the Yeti very soon. I am trying to get this made into an event eventually. Perhaps a kind of "Yeti Hunt".))

Dimitri yawned as he looked out across the frozen snows of the Hansetian mountains. He stretched and took another swig of his flagon. The liquor was like a hot fire in his stomach, warming him from the harsh winds of the south. Dimitri's chainmail felt especially heavy today, but perhaps it was because he was fatigued from the recent patrol he was forced to go on. But, such is the life of a Plebian in the Teutonic Order.

The patrol had started as many others had. One of the many Sariants, Rookie, had lead a group of Plebians to the mountains that border Renatus with the objective to watch for any intruders or suspicious activity. Dimitri did not especially enjoy these kind of patrols, but it was better than sitting at one of the many guard outposts and rotting away doing nothing. Dimitri and the rest of the men climbed up the steep mountains using old paths carved into them by the old Hansetian people so many years ago. Once they reached the summit, Rookie allowed the men a short break to eat some rations and take a rest. As Dimitri looked down upon the great forests of Hanseti, he swore he thought he saw some kind of white blur moving amongst the dense trees, but he knew better than that. The only thing that lived in those forests were deer and the occasional bear. Or at least, that’s what he had convinced himself of.

The Plebians patrolled the mountainous area for the rest of the day before deciding to set up a small camp in the forest, so they could make the trek back to Wacter Stadt the next morning. As the sun set, the men erected their small tents underneath the dense canopy of the trees. The sky was blotted out by the mix of branches and leaves. Before turning in to sleep, Dimitri surveyed the campsite one last time, assuring himself that the men were in no danger.

Dimitri awoke in a cold sweat. He could tell by the darkness outside his tent that it was still night time. Though confused, Dimitri knew why he woke up. The echo of the terrifying roar still hung in the air. Dimitri sat up quickly and let his hand fly to his spear. He bolted out of his tent, spear in hand, and joined the men already crowded within the center of the campsite. The men formed a small circle facing outward, each one equally terrified at the situation. Once more the fear inspiring roar rang out from an unknown place within the pitch black forest. The men stood terrified for a few seconds before the roar was heard for a last time. Dimitri, Rookie, and the Plebians stood in the circle for the rest of the night, each too scared to move from their place and break the safety of the circle. Even though the roar was not heard for the rest of the night, the memory of the frightening experience was still fresh in the mind of all the men who experienced it.

But that was almost an entire day ago, and Dimitri felt it was now a distant memory. He had heard whispers from the other Plebians that the roars had been from the Yeti that he had been hearing so much about lately, but Dimitri blamed the experience on a very large, very angry bear. Dimitri leaned back in his chair as he once more surveyed the snowy wasteland from the outpost he was stationed at. Dimitri closed his eyes and began to doze off to sleep when he heard something that made his heart stop. It was the same roar he heard the night before. Dimitri slowly opened his eyes just in time to see the same white blur from the patrol run past his outpost, not 200 feet in front of him. But this time, the blur stopped, looked at him and let out that same terrifying roar. Dimitri’s eyes widened as he got a good look at the beast. It was just as many had described it. Without question, Dimitri knew it was the Yeti of Hanseti. After roaring, the Yeti continued to run across the plains as Dimitri stared at him. Dimitri dropped his flagon and stood up. Now, Dimitri is not a man who knows much, but he is now sure of one thing; the Yeti of Hanseti is alive, and he is angry.

((The idea we want is that the yeti is so terrifying and dangerous that only fools would seek to hunt it.))

((In other words, if you are lucky enough to encounter The Yeti, do not attack it. Doing so ruins RP. You will have opportunity later on for a hunt but for now refrain from chasing down this monster whom should be so terrifying in RP that you shat bricks and run away; That is how stories are formed, survivors from encounters can come onto this thread and post their experience. Keep in mind that the Yeti is a real player, but act like it's invincible, and only post if you are confident your story is good or you have actually encountered the beast.))
