Morkas (Wrathstar555) 34 Share Posted May 29, 2012 How about adding a stamina attribute, if that's possible?
Blawharag 277 Share Posted May 29, 2012 How about adding a stamina attribute, if that's possible? We have hunger, basically the same thing.
Aerinyes 402 Share Posted May 29, 2012 Anyway to answer the OP. I think it should stay the way it is but have it that: Iron should be slow I and diamond should be slow II. Leather and chain would be unaffected. Except that chain would still weigh you down in water. Leather doesn't slow or sink boats. But it does make swimming dangerous (can't swim up, but as long as you hold space bar you're not sinking). At least thats how it is currently. I kinda like that aspect. I have been in the equivelent of just a head piece (ACH) and chest piece (IBAS) of leather and had to swim for training. I'm a very well trained swimmer and have lived on the coast for nearly 30 years. I know how to swim through rip currents and undertoe and can remain in rough waters and stay afloat for several hours. And I doubt I could stay afloat in full head to toe, arms and legs, leather armor. Well I probably could but would tire out fast. Basically I can honestly say you'd want to get that junk off fast. Baconthief 682 Share Posted May 29, 2012 <3 it. It could have a nice effect to the economy. Armor would break faster so blacksmiths can have more buisness repairing armor, and traders will be able to sell armor materials and armor in general alot more frequently. Varstivus 98 Share Posted May 29, 2012 I rather like the idea, I probably haven't encountered the kiting tactics due to not being near everyone, but I think this is a good idea despite what others think.
Lyuin 65 Share Posted May 29, 2012 Random Idea maybe there should be a certain critical hit available with the sword which is called puncher. This would be a special critical which would do damage to the player rather then armour. This would in a sense represents a lucky hit on the gap in the plating. mylimo7 409 Share Posted May 29, 2012 Why not just make a skill so that if that skill is high enough you run faster..
gabriel101x1 463 Share Posted May 30, 2012 Why not just make a skill so that if that skill is high enough you run faster.. If we did that we would need to raise the max total skill levels. Or else make it not contribute to the total (275). The first one would be problematic. The second one would mean that sooner or later everyone on the server would have maxed out the skill. Elrohir Sil'Siol 7 Share Posted May 30, 2012 So people will need to destroy you, say diamond, armor to do any damage to you?
EpicDAX 2 Share Posted May 30, 2012 Really this isint the best idea. The best result of this is that glitched slimes wont be OP. I think that with armor it should reduce damage a bit more, but a axes would damage armor less but hurt the person more, and a sword would hurt armor more and the person less. This makes sense cause an axe has hard hitting force while a sword cuts and slashes. And as I think crackerjack said, add a stamina bar. Instead of just adding a virtual one could you also impliment one on the screen, through spoutcraft?
Zebanamana 410 Share Posted May 30, 2012 If anything when your armor breaks it should become unusable and removed from your body. Armor never completely disappeared, smiths can fix up most damages. I say if we go with this, instead of your armor completely breaking, it should be removed from your person should it get into the low red. Repairing it from the low red should cost 2 of the required material as opposed to the 1 it should cost to anything else. As for the update in general, I have heard good arguments for both sides so I really am undecided. I'd have to see in practice. We need a Test server and volunteers to see how these things work before implementing them into the server.
Mingpow321 285 Share Posted May 30, 2012 I personally do not agree with this idea, anybody who's ever worn armor and been hit can tell you that it still left a mark. Completely negating all damage until the armor is useless is not at all a realistic way of going about things. Football players still get broken bones in their pads, soldiers still get hit through the gaps in their vests, and knights surely got cuts and bruises through the gaps in their armor. If you make it so that a man in diamond armor takes no damage until his armor is broken then you're essentially giving him god mode to go around on a killing spree. Not to mention the fact that people are going to start going through suits of armor like hotcakes and repairing a suit of diamond armor isn't cheap by any means. BannanaToYou 196 Share Posted May 30, 2012 Hitting People Depending on your level of Axe/Swords/Lumber with Axe, you get a chance of piercing. Piercing shots destroy health. Shots that miss hit the armour, destroying it slightly? Whatcha think?
