I hate the idea of a new map since we spent so much time building, but I think we expanded way to far, I hardly see anyone around, the most people I see are respawners or people passing threw the cloud temple the server seems dead because it's too big, I love the traveling feel to rp, but what's the point if there isn't enough people around to rp with?

Aye,

I can confirm that we do have a "Limited Creative" plugin and a reasonable amount of minas you can hire "workers" and build with the ability to fly and vanish, while in this rank you will be unable to soulstone and will have a "No-exit" region flag placed around the area you're building. There's so many incredible builds in Asulon we felt, when we do switch we have to assist in this process. More time spent RP'ing and possibly more detailed works!

I am pleased with this, quite pleased indeed, perhaps I'll finally be able to use brick without scouring half of the wild's rivers for clay

I saw the layout post for 3.0, and had a few suggestions.

1) I hope for more integrated mixed nations, perhaps some lore that has much more traders living in other nations or even possibly multi-racial nations. I see too many one-race cities, when even IRL cities are a melting pot for people of all races to congregate. It creates great civil conflict when multiple races are cramped into one land under one banner, and I find it more interesting.

2) I believe Cloud Temple should NOT be in the center of the map; that is why this map has so much crime and incidents occuring in the temple. Keep the temple like in Aegis where it is not in the center of the realm. Because the Asulon temple was in the center, it became somewhat of a highway for travelers to go through, and ended up being a great spot for conflict RP. But it is a temple, so keep it off to the side and rather have a "King's Road" esque path for trouble to come.

3) I ask that if possible some of the cities be prebuilt, so it provides an excellent quality RP atmosphere through great builds, over the haphazard, dull, boring builds which occur when players have to make their own buildings (they often rush the projects, so they have buildings to RP in). For RP purposes though, these cities should be somewhat derelict and damaged, so players have things to do such as to repair buildings and fix workshops.

4) I think working more on landscape/environment and less on dungeons would be great, dungeons have always been a thing for only a few players to participate in, while a landscape always cultivates great RP through the atmosphere, acts as a selling point to new players, and affects everyone.

Upon Leaving Asulon do we get to keep stuff in our inventory/Wearing this time?

Apparently one chest full of items will be carried over. This is bullshit and will ruin the new maps economy before it has a chance to even begin.

not really bullshit, perhaps not too well thought out, but let's refrain from lowly insults

how about you put together a clear suggestion post/thread about how you think inventories and the like should be handled, I'm somewhat for nothing but what you're holding being carried over, if even that much

I actually like the ideas of resources being carried over but having very few resources in the new land. Suddenly everyone's items would become much more valuable, leading to major economic problems. Why shouldn't Asulon have economic problems?

Really? News to me, I don't recall every mentioning such a thing. Hearsay will always be, hearsay!

That goodness then Native. Could I send you some ideas on armor and resources in 3.0?

Please have a designated trade building near the center of everything. Not a town, just a building. The building should have trading cages in it and item chutes that make it safe to trade. The problem with trading among races is that the all the races want the other races to come to their land to trade.

These are just some of my thoughts on what I would like to see in 3.0.

Settlements and Nations

Although having many diverse settlements is something I'd like to see, I do feel that our player base can’t populate them. A problem which many have already stated is that many settlements have sprung up, which has caused our player base to spread out.

Currently, our system of starting a settlement is through charters. With the new map, I think charters should be limited to the wilderness, whilst within nations there should be RP where players should announce their idea to noble players for them to decide whether or not to go through with them, maybe after this occurs a charter can be written up. As for Asulon, it might be a good idea for charters to be closed for the time being, and we'll see how it will affect the server. If charters do continue, the amount of supporters should be changed. To make a village you only need a measly 5 signers, which should definitely be bumped up. Overall, I personally believe that charters should be used as a last resort.

The amount of nations the server has is... iffy. We have our four main nations, Oren, Dwarves, Malinor and the War Ugz. But, we also have our independents Empyreal, Levanthus, Holm and Aeroch Nor. Even though we need our main nations, we still need independents in the mix to rival our larger nations. However, our independents well... don't seem to be able to fight their battles against the big four. I personally believe we need our four main nations to be the back bone of the server, while our independents are there to deify our larger nations.

At the moment I find capitals on the map such as Arethor disappointing. In my opinion I feel that the capital of the nation should be able to accommodate at least 1/2 of the nation's citizens. Unfortunately, Arethor, the almighty city which it is, only has 20 or so houses within its walls, with houses currently being built outside of it. Making capitals larger will give a good central place to RP in each of the nations.

Map

While Asulon is a great map, I still do think we need to move on in order to rewrite some wrongs.

The size of the map is something that the community has been targeting for a while now. Almost everyone has witnessed how the size of the map has spread out RP. Personally, I don't mind the size of the map, it's just what people do with it. For example, if we didn't have all these settlements throughout the map there would be almost no reason for players living in or going to unpopulated areas, therefore making the map seem smaller to the player. It’s still good to have things thoroughly spread out in order to have distance between settlements.

The new landscape is something I’m most looking forward to. The use of Minecraft’s terrain generation is something that I feel has no place on this server. I find it very bland and repetitive. We should be hand sculpting our own map with custom and varied biomes to make our map unique and visually exciting to look at.
