i think you read that wrong.Let me rephrase for you,What i meant was that if you try hitting someone for no reason it wont actually hurt the person or do anything.Which is why to battle someone you should type something just incase,Also i just think that this should be in like protected area.Like if your in an protected area and people start rping and get into a fight they wouldnt really be able to fight because they would be in protected area.So then they would have to type there names with a plugin or something they could fight in that protected area. But the person/people you want to fight would have to accept the request

No. You would ruin breadfight club.

-While I do want the next world to be more city based, one city per race seems very limiting. Instead, what about this? One major capital city controlled by the dominant Sub-Race, and then two smaller ones for the two minor Sub-Races. Like such.

LOTCMAPV3.jpg

Cities:

Human

-Southeron City (Capital/Major)

-Northerner City (Minor)

-Halfling City (Minor)

Dwarf

-Mountain Dwarf City (Capital/Major)

-Forest Dwarf City (Minor)

-Cave Dwarf City (Minor)

Elf

-High Elf City (Capital/Major)

-Dark Elf City (Minor)

-Wood Elf City (Minor)

Orc

-Nomad City (Capital/Major)

-Goblin City (Minor)

-Shaman City (Minor)

Kharajyr

-Kha City (Capital/Minor)

Monks

-Cloud Temple (Capital/Sanctuary)

-The Major Cities are all connected by the King's Road still, so you have to go on the more dangerous minor roads to reach minor cities, so most traffic will still remain in the big cities, but for those looking for a more specific culture to their Sub-Race they will have a home as well. Just something to ponder on.

Thanks. That's obviously just the basics for borders and such, I'm working on the aesthetic parts now.

From the rumors that I have heard, the cloud temple will no longer be in the center of the world and the wilds will be on a separate continent entirely. Trust none of what you hear and half of what you see though.

Looks like the humans are seperated from the rest of the world by the orc territory... Could lead to some interesting conflict

If there's anything I want in a new map it is city building rights to be reserved to the GM's only. It's extremely annoying having five major cities when the playerbase isn't big enough. I'm a dwarf so whenever I go to one of my cities there is never anybody around. If we're going to start once again I want there to be one enormous central hub for each race and main roads from them connecting to the cloud temple as it was in Aegis.

By main roads I mean clear cut permed roads with PLENTY of signs pointing the way. When I first joined over a year ago there were no signs pointing to any of the major cities, I ended up in Orc territory which Availer kindly guided me out of. Towns are a good thing to have and along the main roads there should be smaller roads leading to player built villages and towns. Notice how I said roads, that does not mean 2 block wide paths, that means ROADS at least 4 blocks wide so newbies know for sure they are heading to civilisation.

Now we come to paths, I believe each town should have a series of paths stretching out into the wilderness, a kind of beaten track which doesn't really lead anywhere or leads to houses further away, or places where RP events could take place like monuments.

By the sides of the main roads players should be able to rent the permed land and put up inns and rest stops (these must NOT be allowed to turn into towns). You may have noticed I said rent, that's because anybody could just buy some land set up a shop and leave for a year, leaving a useless eyesore behind. A month of inactivity should be enough before the ruler of the main road declares the building void and its ownership must be passed on or the building destroyed. Inns are a good thing because starting out in the world you have absolutely nothing and livestock is hard to come by walking around so people mostly starve on their first day or are murdered.

Those are my ideas, I'm fed up of disorganisation, there must be clear rules on buildings and settlements. Sure if you want to go and build yourself a keep miles and miles away go ahead but having shacks dotted around is confusing for everyone. Also having ALL the land permed is beyond irritating because it makes it extremely difficult to begin the game and kills RP. Example: Oh God I'm nearly dead of hunger, oh look some melons! 'You do not have permissions for this area' dies*.

Quick 3.0 question-of-the-day:

Will creepers resurface in 3.0?

I, how oddly it may sound, miss those guys... And their explosive urge for a hug.

Dont expect High elves to become part of Malinor again.

Well now I said that I want to say this:

I think it would be intresting if we had certain places that had a lot of a certain material, for instance the dwarves have a higher rate of finding iron and diamond, the humans of iron, orc of diamond, high elves gold, etc...

It would make some trade and actual economy real possible.

Note: this is just a concept, I am not saying that how I said it, the materials should be spread over the races.

Elf

-High Elf City (Capital/Major)

-Dark Elf City (Minor)

-Wood Elf City (Minor)

I also really like that we high elves have the capital ^.^

For as far as I still can remember:

A great dissadvantage of the Asulon map was it's size, it has been stated before and it is trully a fact.

The Roleplaying-events all occur on one or two places or cities, leaving the rest of the map fully deserted.

Many, many people have begun a city and left it aside after some time, causing weird landscapes and perfect cities just dieing in the wilds.

I myself made my fortress close to the Skravian lands, which after time became nearly deserted, forcing me to move.

If I look at the evniroment it would be a nightmare for me to get back to the Sanctuary. As the mobs were so extremely strong that I would die, without doubt.

The other problem was, I was being hunted at all times, thus I could not go to any of the two major roleplaying places as it would mean my dead.

If there would come a new map, or changing of the map, I think it would be good to:

- Limit the map size

- Create one central point

- Create a new 'kingsroad', or more.

- Try to make players willing to go further or closer to eachother, as how the situation demands for.

- Have a beautiful wilderness.

Limit the map size

It is fairly easy. If people are too far away from eachother they won't even have time to go to somewhere else. Some people can play for an hour or two, a day. I used to play around six to ten hours a day, but those who play less should have the ability to reach a certain destination, without using transport, within a certain time laps.

Otherway people won't bother to go towards an other region as they would spend most of their time running towards there.

Create one central point

The Sanctuary is a great example for this, but at the other hand also not quite right.

If you look at the infrastructure of the Sanctuary you will notice it looks like a spider.

Meaning it has a circle in the middle and four roads departing from it.

From the instant you leave the Sanctuary, you more or less leave the ability to encounter an other race. Or one who is not known by you.

Meaning that you will not interefere with new players.

The Sanctuary itself was a fountain of roleplay, at the start.

It still is but it is slowly going down, for asfar as I know.

( I love the looks of the Sanctuary, extremely much. But it's infrastructure isn't right. )

If you would make different roads departing from a central point, make the depart into the same direction. You could even let the turn later on, but all that matters is the very start of the road.

( And it's few comming 100 meters. )

Create a new 'kingsroad'

I think I speak for many if I say that I want a new 'kingsroad'. Kingsroad was the general place where you would go if you had no roleplaying to be found around you.

If possible, you should try and create a new kingsroad.

If this would not be possible, I would think about creating a civilization, very close, to the actual central place.

People must have the ability to log on for merely ten to twenty minutes and still find satisfying roleplaying-experience.

Try to make players willing to go further or closer to eachother, as how the situation demands for.

I know certain things that will make these things get better. Such as the trading of exclusive materials. But if for example one could set up a minersguild or any of those kind of facilities that a normal player could relay on and could get rather cheap resources then this would become a place of connection for players.

If a mouse doesn't come, lay some cheese on the ground.

There is always something that makes people more interested to go live in one area instead of the other. Mostly that is the ammount of roleplay, or the quality.

Now I would say, why did the first roleplayers went there ?

That's something you'll have to search, cus I can't anymore. ^-^

Try to find those things that attract players, that give them the joy to run for a few minutes and go to that very certain area.

I am pretty certain that there must be something at the core of those massive roleplaying spots.

Have a beautiful wilderness

I know that you are creating magnificent landscapes, Yes, I am referening to those snowy mountains on the LotC mainpage. They are brilliant. Trully great voxeling and detail.

But if I think back at the place where I made my fortress, which exists out of a mix of every possible terrain, I see that the landscape is not too great.

I, infact, recreated the ground around my whole fortress, for large parts.

Before I began to build even, as it just looked horrible.

I am not asking you to voxel all of the wilderness as that would be an insane job, but if you could keep an eye out at the wilderness, that would be fantastic.

As there are still many people whom prefere to live in the Wilderness.

Well,

I think that is all for now.

If I think of more, I'll post it.

,Thank you for reading

Haven't looked through all of this since there's SO much but if it hasn't already been said maybe we could have a text based thirst system like the old food system?
