Cyber-Bullying

This so much. Especially when cyber bullying is apparently the cause of someone really close leaving. It's very severe in many cases.

People also are afraid to go out of their way to report it. They just keep taking the constant bullying which is bad. If anyone is being bullied in any shape or form (from annoying teasing to outright flaming and insulting), they should PM someone of authority immediately...

The worst is when you have a friend who is a cyber bully and you don't wanna' point him out... It's even worse when he has cyber bullied you despite friendship...

Then he is no friend.

So this may seem stupid but.. Does this only really apply to the forums...? Because stuff happens outside of LOTC but still about LOTC... * looks behind her self. *

Its not like we can regulate skype or your home for bullies. But if someone is hurting you or attacking you persoanlly Im sure the Admins will take in any proof of cybering. All I want is a happy safe place for you all to have fun it

I hope and expect that this was already a policy that is just now being put under the spotlight due to recent events. Bullying of any form never has been okay, nor will it ever be.

As for those who are dealing with issues they might not want to discuss, lashing out at someone is never the answer.

Remember that these are strangers. They don't know you, and you don't know them. Would you walk up to someone at the mall and yell in their face that they're stupid and deserve to die?

There's always someone to talk to, no matter what. I'm here, if anyone is reading this and needs to vent. About anything. Seriously.

Find a way to deal with it that doesn't involve hurting someone. If you sink to bullying, then all you have left is to ask for forgiveness.

The same stands, of course, for if you've been bullied. I'm here to talk, and I'm sure most of this community is as well. We, as a whole, won't put up with that sort of thing and we'll do whatever it takes to keep it out of our corner of the internet.

I've had more personal experience with this issue than I'd like. It has no place anywhere, let alone LoTC. Like it's been said, this should be a safe-haven. *knight costume*

Any personal attack is rather silly.

Disagreements ought to be solved through reason and civil conversation; there's really no reason for animosity... ever.

Both.

I've seen a number of decent, contributing players known for being friendly leave the community recently, and though they almost never mention why, the one thing that it can be traced to is this. Of course, this excludes those who leave due to school or other time-demanding events in real life.

Anyway, seriously, if you leave because you're simply being mistreated or harassed by someone, why not simply inform a staff member? Admittedly, this may sound blunt, but you should honestly stay and get their ass banned rather than just leave so they can sit around and laugh. LOTC will always be welcome to everyone - though it shouldn't be welcome to these cyber-bullies as we refer to them as, and you (the craftsman/craftswoman) have a say in that.

Forum ban or game ban?

Not that it realy matters.

Well considering it's bullying/Harassing through the Lord Of The Craft community I would say In-Game and Forums. This being said if you are banned from the forums for bullying you could still bully that person in game through PMs and the OOC chat.

I have lately been reading many goodbyes from what appeared to be excellent RPers because of bulling. I am glad to hear that the hammers are going to start dropping.

Yeah, this cyber-bullying really does need to stop. It's downright hurtful to those it's aimed at and cruel of the bullies themselves. Besides that, it's irritating for us who have to watch it and deal with the aftermath.
