Neri 3590 Popular Post Share Posted June 9, 2012 Greetings, Asulonians! Over the past few days you may - unless you live under a halfling burrow - have noticed a spate of bans for 'Cybering'. Now, most of you know what Cybering is and our stance on it. But, recently apparent by the number of bans, it seems like, somehow, a majority of you do not. 'Cybering', for you who are misinformed, is; Cybersex, and also it's colloquial form, cybering, is a virtual sex encounter in which two or more persons connected remotely via computer network send each other sexually explicit messages describing a sexual experience. Of course, the term 'Sexually Explicit' may seem rather vague. So here is my final verdict on what 'Cybering' boils down to in RP. Anything that involves the human reproductive organs interacting with another person - or in turn, any part of the body interacting with the sexual organs in any way. Nudity, whilst allowing some rather good (or hilarious) RP, is essentially obscenity, and therefore is not allowed - there's a reason why it is against the law IRL, after all.So, some of you may ask - "What is okay? What isn't?". I'll give a brief range of examples here; Barry kisses Annie on the neck, nibbling her slightly. This is OKAY. As following the final verdict, there is no contact with sexual organs or vice versa, as well as no nudity. Barry pulls Annie's skirt off, slid- Okay, hold your horses! This is definitely breaching the 'No Nudity', or at least - intends to. Don't do it! The stick goes in, the stick goes out, in out in out shake it all about, do the hok- Okay, you know what? There is no need for examples. I'm sure the final verdict tells you all you need to know. If that wasn't clear enough, I will state it again in simple 'layman' terms;-No touching the genitals of yourself or another.-No indecent exposure of genitals or breasts. Skimpyness is okay. Just keep it tasteful.-Try to keep sexual language to a minimum. Words such as (Hover over for terms - caution : foul language) are allowed, if making viable sense in RP - I don't want to see High Elves shouting "OI D**KHEAD!".-No Rape. This is final. It's not something we want to see RP'd. Even with consent of both parties and the use of Fade to Black, rape will not be permitted and will be dealt with harshly. Basically, don't do anything you wouldn't do at a family reunion. Okay, so now that's over with, I will move onto WHY Cybering is banned. "Why is it banned?" some may ask. Well, that's easily answered. Unless our server is specifically a 18+ server, with a disclaimer clearly visible on our site, server, and other applications, sexually explicit material (This includes text, like RP) is illegal. That's it. That's final. And we aren't going to do that - 70% of our community, if not more, is under 18. We'd die if we made a decision such as that. So, no matter how much you argue, we are not going to do it Secondly, as said by most people during these 'Is Cybering allowed' debates, what would happen if a parent of a child saw sexual intercourse being played out on their childs screen? If a parent of a child requests to see our chatlogs, we are bound by law to show it to them. This is why Cybering in tells is also banned - they are very easily accessible by anyone who is given permission. The banning of Cybering is for our and your protection - we don't want to be shut down for condoning sexual interaction with and around minors. It's just not tasteful or right. Finally, if you've been banned for Cybering, think to yourself - your actions put the server in jeopardy. If we didn't ban you for your actions, we could be shut down for being seen to allow it - and this, essentially, would be a ban for you anyway, would it not?From this day, we will draw a line in the sand. Anyone seen Cybering, whether in tells, public channels, TS, or the forums, will be banned indefinitely. This is your final warning. This is your only warning. We've stated it a thousand times, and it is now upon your shoulders to listen to what we have said.Cybering is lose-lose for everyone. They have been doing this for a while although I'm unsure if they can continue. This essentially includes touching of the genitals but in no way is it sexual.
