Welcome, welcome, welcome to the first edition of the Lord of the Craft newsletter!

This newsletter is a thread that shall be posted every second week and last week of each month and will feature the latest news, useful information and amazing things of that week! Content may be submitted to myself for it, find more information about that at the end.

Introduction to the newsletter ~

The newsletter aims to keep you updated with the most important news and announcements. It also will feature the Most Noted Player and Featured Location of that semi-month!

You as a member can ask for things to be included, or suggest for things to be included by sending a PM to me with whatever you’re thinking.

Anyway, let’s get this kicked off!;

Most Noted Player

Most Noted Player (previously known as Player of the Week) is a programme that is aimed at rewarding a member who the GM team feel has done the community well. This is a title that we bestow upon a member and give them lots of huggles and cuddles for being so awesome.

I am pleased to announce - that this semi-month’s - Most Noted Player is:

This member has been chosen because of his commitment and amazing effort into maintaining the Kharajyr race - which we feel is a great feat. Ben is a great asset to the community and does a very good job at what he does.

Myself and Lirinya caught up with him to reveal to him his newly awarded ‘title’ and ask him a few questions:

[19:32:00] Danny ~ (Daniel Jamieson): Hello there!

[19:32:21] Benboboy: Hey. What's up?

[19:32:49] Danny ~ (Daniel Jamieson): Nothing... sinister. ;) We just want a.. small chat with you, that's all!

[19:33:01] Benboboy: Haha, alright.

[19:33:02]Danny ~ (Daniel Jamieson): I presume you've heard of the 'Most Noted Player' award?

[19:33:13]Benboboy: Yes?

[19:33:20] Lirinya (Vicky)(Rabbit): (chuckle)

[19:33:21]Danny ~ (Daniel Jamieson): Well, you've just earned it.

[19:33:38] Lirinya (Vicky)(Rabbit): (clap)

[19:33:43]Benboboy: Haha! That's great! Thanks so much!

[19:34:00] Benboboy: Hard to show my happiness via skype!

[19:34:05]Danny ~ (Daniel Jamieson): :P

[19:34:09]Lirinya (Vicky)(Rabbit): This is where we ask you random questions ^^

[19:34:17] Benboboy: Shoot :)

[19:34:44]Lirinya (Vicky)(Rabbit): First things first, when did you actually join LoTC and what was your first experience like?

[19:35:31]Benboboy: I joined in December, and it was nothing like I have ever seen. Simply magical, never before have I seen role play used so successfully.

[19:35:58]Benboboy: I had the time of my life. And the people already on the server welcomed me with open arms.

[19:36:25]Lirinya (Vicky)(Rabbit): Was it what you expected?

[19:36:57]Benboboy: Not at all. I honestly thought that it would fail like other RP servers I had seen, but boy was I shocked...

[19:37:23]Lirinya (Vicky)(Rabbit): I hope shocked in a good way? :P

[19:37:51]Benboboy: Oh yes. I never thought minecraft could reach this level of enjoyment.

[19:39:19]Lirinya (Vicky)(Rabbit): Good! Now, you've obviously earned some position in LoTC now, leading the Kha's and all. Is that something you expected to be doing?

[19:40:29]Benboboy: Nope, all my LoTC time has been spent in the background, never too sure of what I wanted to do. I joined the Kharajyr race and loved it from the very start, my best time on LoTC has been with the Kha'

[19:41:00]Benboboy: It was such a shame when Xerdun had to give up his position, and handing it to me was a massive surprise belive me.

[19:41:36]Benboboy: But I have spent a lot of time and effort bringing the race up to what it is today and I've loved every second of it. Totally paid off.

[19:42:18]Danny ~ (Daniel Jamieson): You do a very good job of running it also! I've always wondered, what is it that makes you actually have the drive and motivation to run the Kha? Is it simply your love for the race, or is there something else?

[19:42:44]Lirinya (Vicky)(Rabbit): I mean let's face it, how can you NOT love the Kha ^^

[19:43:04]Benboboy: Mainly my love for the race and it's members. I fell in love with the lore and come on... They are giant fluffy kitty cats, what's not to love?

[19:43:59] Benboboy: I almost feel that not doing what I do would decrease other peoples RP. With no Kharajyr, a wonderful part of LoTC would fade away.

[19:45:39]Danny ~ (Daniel Jamieson): Indeed, the Kha are a extremely good part of LotC, and do bring good roleplay to most people I've heard who've met them.

[19:46:01] Benboboy: ^_^ I should hope so

[19:47:16]Lirinya (Vicky)(Rabbit): What's the most interesting part of running them, for you anyway?

[19:48:56]Benboboy: Well, as some people know I basicly play as a complete Tyrant with a love for his people, the best bits are when somebody is either brought, or finds the city and it's up to me to decide their fate ]:)

[19:49:46]Benboboy: I love the amount of effort the Kharajyr players do for me too, all it takes is some good leadership to get a race moving.

[19:50:59 | Edited 19:51:06]Lirinya (Vicky)(Rabbit): Must admit I have yet to see the Tyrant behind your character ;) He seems a bit of a softie!

In terms of your character, what is he like? As an over view? I know he has the most adorable child ever! But thats about it.

What makes you, essentially make him who he is?

[19:53:15]Benboboy: Well, Tiazar isn't much of a tyrant to his people, but he makes rash choices without thinking them through. He has developed his character after a large amount of role play with many different people, for example; Tiazar gets moody and depressed at weddings after his lifemate Miian died just before their own wedding.

[19:55:16]Benboboy: Tiazar's hate for non-Kharajyr has come from the amount of disrespect, and general offences people have caused him and his people, he is very single minded about them and often judges them all just because he met a few bad apples.

[19:57:30]Benboboy: But under his hard, cold fur and skin lies a sweet and loving heart. But the death of Miian has buried these feelings deep within him and it doesn't look like they will be dug up anytime soon.

[19:58:49]Lirinya (Vicky)(Rabbit): That's really sad :I

He still seems to do an amazing job with the Kha. Despite what has happened to him.

Do you think that the roleplay for the Kha has developed, or is developing well? They have changed drastically since I first joined.

[20:00:32]Benboboy: Oh yes, I am constantly editing and improving things for the race and basicly adapting us into what feels right. It has developed a vast amount since the race was implemented with new members joining everyday.

[20:01:58]Danny ~ (Daniel Jamieson): Is it a hard responsibility having to manage the applications for the Kha? As far as I've seen the KAT is no longer existant? It appears you're soley responsible for the applications, is that not a difficult thing to manage, at the same time as taking care of the alrady existant Kha?

[20:06:01]Benboboy: I will be honest and say I'm a bit of a control freak. Yes, I do do most of the apps myself but I still enjoy it. It's great to see people looking up the player made lore and really going for it. I have had help from Roxthesox too with the apps. And I keep things organised, I keep a little to do list and slowly work my way through it. People are always comming to me in game with questions and I'm always happy to answer them. But I can certainly manage to keep control of the apps while running the race, but it may be wise of me to re-implement the KAT if numbers continue to rise.

[20:08:31]Danny ~ (Daniel Jamieson): Well, we're almost done, but one final thing we'd like to ask you is about LotC itself again. How do you feel it has changed since you joined, and how would you like it to continue to change ?

[20:14:51]Benboboy: Well, I almost feel as if it's been one big storybook. An amazing adventure in which I am a part of. I don't feel as if LoTC has 'changed' at all, I think it has developed, developed from a small seed of an idea to a beautiful flower that has blossomed under all the odds. LoTC has improved in so many ways, with the move to Asulon and the new plugins which introduce a sence of realism, as well as the new races with outstanding lore behind them. I can see LoTC continuing to develop too, but where it will head from here, I havn't a clue. I just know wherever it's going, we're going with it, and I look forward to it.

[20:15:41]Danny ~ (Daniel Jamieson): Danny ~ (Daniel Jamieson) nods,

[20:16:02]Danny ~ (Daniel Jamieson): That was very well said... Now, I believe that is all! Congratulations again!

[20:16:53]Benboboy: Thanks! It's just great to see my work has been noticed ^_^

[20:17:43]Danny ~ (Daniel Jamieson): I'll have this posted up very soon!

The Screenshot Contest

Recently a ‘screenshot contest’ was organized by Alan! It was extremely well responded to, and the winners were chosen and rewarded!

In-case you missed, the competition winners were as follows:-

In THIRD PLACE - Rasun with 'Sunset of a Lifetime'

In SECOND PLACE - (=>人<=) with 'The Weeping Willow'

In FIRST PLACE - ~KoTo~ with 'The Humble Horde'

Congratulations to the winners, and thank you to everyone who took part! You have done some amazing works in this competition!

Featured Location

This is something I’ve wanted to do for quite a while! It’s a ‘Featured Location’ sort of thing, making places that are sometimes not that well known - known. Unfortunately, I couldn’t think of anywhere! Please do make a few suggestions to me for locations, as I’m not particularly good with remembering places!

Recent Updates

As most of you will know, the server recently had quite a few updates made to it! This will cover any updates added in the last two weeks.

MORE PHYSICS - This plugin has weighed armour, so that you can not run as quick in it and you will sink whilst wearing it. This was suggested by the playerbase, and had a majority vote of support behind it.

WANDERING SOULS - The ‘Wandering Soul’ system was re-added! This means that anyone can log onto the server and look around, so that they may become familiar with our atmosphere before making their application. It also provides a simple and easy way for the Application Team to communicate and help applicants via the in-game chat. Wandering Souls are in creative mode, and are vanished - with the ability to do nothing except speaking in the Wandering Soul Chat (/join ws). This means that even though they have creative - they can’t shoot arrows, throw things, drop items, open doors, open bridges, activate levers or anything else. They can simply view the server from a good height.

NEW CRAFTING RECIPES - You are now able to make a few things in different ways that you originally could! ‘Hunters Traps’ (webs) can now be made via putting a piece of string in each corner of the crafting table, and a slimeball in the middle. Now you can capture them pigmen with the traps!

Also, a new alcoholic drink named “Pumpkin Wine” was introduced, as created by NekoDanie. Once drank it provides you with five minutes of the ‘fire resistance’ effect as well as making you drunk like ale does!

DATES - The dates plugin was reintroduced to the server, allowing for authors and biographers to ensure that they have the correct date in Asulon!

NEW GMS - Two new GMs were recently promoted to the rank! Alan and Viper! They’ve both done fabulous work throughout the community previously, and the GM team were delighted to welcome them aboard! They have both already done very well in their new positions, and will no doubt continue to do so.

THE CHAIR PLUGIN - A new chair plugin, coded by our very own Vaquxine was implemented as well! This replaces the old glitched one, and allows you to make a chair without having to put a painting on the back! Simply SHIFT+RIGHTCLICK on any stair block and you’ll be sitted in it. Be sure to include a block under your chair, or you fall right through!

PATCH 2.7 - SKILLS 2.0 - This patch featured major skill updates. See threads http://www.lordofthe...-system-20/][1] [2] [3] for more information!

NEW VOTING LOCATION - You can now vote on: http://www.xtremetop...ite=1132329774. This site could potentially get us a lot more members, so we have very high hopes for it!

Contributing Content

This newsletter can only work efficiently if it has some form of support - we need suggestions for things like Featured Location, or ‘under-viewed’ threads or ideas. If you feel we should include something here, then be sure to send a PM my way!

And finally, just a massive thank you to all of the Lord of the Craft members for continuing to support and play the server - you are amazing.

We hope you enjoyed your read, and I look forward to writing up another one of these in two weeks time! Next time we’ll have a lot more content, including:- an actually featured location, and featured threads and ideas!

~ Danny, and the LotC GM Team.

For the Featured Location you should visit Wachter Stadt. It's the Teutonic Order's home and where Hochmeister Mirtok's throne room is.
