Smelting the stone around the diamonds... because we totally had that type of high-power technology in medieval times.

Cool down :)

((Well diamonds are pure carbon and it's converted to carbon dioxide after smelting it, but that's real life logic)), Don't compare LOTC to the real life technology we have in real life. Although, lotc expresses it's realism, there's time for change in Asulon, whilst people may learn and find many things. It's easier for vaquxine to use this type of made up knowledge to make it easier for the fellow blacksmiths, who are already legends.

The way in which she posts her feedback is questionable. But her points are valid.

Vaq you have a crazy way of naming variables. :P

Everyone I know has a completely different way of naming their variables when coding :D

Seeing how when you find diamonds in real life you have to put them through a massive stage of refinement before they can even be used, this makes a lot of sense.

....chance of success on tools? I don't want someone to make me something that is still below 65% to make.

I was under the impression we were allowed to voice our opinions in a place of safety, without being attacked for doing so left and right. Simply because she doesn't agree with it, doesn't mean you have to snap at her. Sure her feedback is done in a fiery manner, but that is because she (and myself) are driven by our opinions on roleplay and getting pushed by the way we are being treated by some of the community, when voicing said opinions.

I would think Lord of the Craft would value our opinions, despite their going against the mass consensus, and take them into account. As Lord of the Craft is a family, but that doesn't mean we should all act like little siblings and bicker constantly. We should come together and view the issues, and get what needs to be done, well done.

That is the same for the whole community. Not just the players, but the admins, and Game moderators as well. We should be seeking to help one another, not bring the other down.

Now for my opinion on this update. It doesn't really make much sense to me. Sure, the diamonds needed to be refined, but like Rhisereld said we did not have the technology in medevil times to refine them. To be frank, I never thought diamonds ever truly worked in minecraft, realistically of course. I always referred to them as mythril, or some other form of fantasy-esque material. Perhaps we should come up with a different roleplay name for it. As diamonds cannot be realistically shaped or forged into anything at all, with our given technology.

Possible names:

Adamantium

Mythril
