I would really not like this system as it takes away much of the personalisation of your character. My character is a axemaster but he's lived for 700 years and learned how to smith from his father.

I like it when you can choose to have a combat skill and another skill and they influence each other, Axe + woodcutting.

I like to be able to do other things then just have combat skills and be able to swing at people.

Oh god no, that would suck! There would basically be no use for a skills system :( I like the skills system now. People can ***** all they want about them having to do work.

Please, add this!

During the life of my dwarf, he could easily learn more skills, consider his life span.

It always annoys me when my dwarf learns to 100 in skill level and then he is done. Maybe remove the skill limit. You still have to dedicate time to learn the skills anyways.

Do this. People should not be skilled in multiple random areas, as it makes no sense. How would a Knight, who has trained in the art of combat all his life, be mastered in two completely different skills with the 175 credits he has left over? Or how would a peasant farmer, be skilled with a sword, if he's lived as a slave off the land, knowing only to kill the odd beast that gets into his farm? It would also stop people from having skills coupled together like mining/blacksmithing. People need to stop overpowering their characters.

I personally like the ideas that I suggested on my first post in this thread:

-keep it as it is, but make ~300 total skill credits if stealth and alchemy are added as new skills.

-At level 100 in a skill, you can't fail at making an item; for instance, you can't fail at making a chestplate if you have lvl 100 blacksmithing.

-increase experience gains for skills; combat skills, for instance - killing a mob should net you ~1,000 experience instead of just ~100 experience.

-every new player starts out with a few mina in their pocket, a wooden variant of the five basic tools, and maybe ~3 pieces of food to get them started.

I remember when one of the Admins told Bluudermore that the players opinions does not matter.. This was one of the reasons Blunder left... How can we be certain that this isn't just going to go to vain.? :(

R.A.A Blundermore

Considering this thread is asking players opinions... I think that shows we're listening, eh?

Wait, so if I had 100 with combat I'd have 100 with every combat skill, being the best at every combat skill?

I'd like to have a skill system that is good for small amounts of self sufficiency, because after all, I don't allow my characters to be identified by game mechanics, but through my own imagination.

I don't use the skill system for my character development, only to make my own chests.

If there isn't a blacksmith online, I can always improvise and make the items myself.

I'd like to see a skill system where all skills are assigned and not grinded.

YES!

I'm not 100% sure what this new stats system is but what I think it means is this:

You caan only pick one category so you only get the skills within that category. Kinda like starting out a game and them picking if you'd rather be a 'Farmer' or 'Soldier.'

If this is what all this means, then I TOTALLY disagree. It would take away from so much of what I love about the skills now. You can be who you want to be. I'm a soldier, who also knows how to blacksmith. I couldn't be that with this skills system.

I believe this is a REALLY big step, and with that, it'd be a big step in the wrong direction. I love the system the way that it is, and I see no need to change it.

Youre talking about overpowering, however we're giving every available combat skill in LoTC to one individual who has role played training for one. What do our new members say? if they want to be a warrior (like 50% do) then will their bio say "My father taught me the skills of swordsmanship, archery, wrestling, and axe mastery."?

People are saying they love the skill system the way it is, when they always complain that they hate it and want the old system back. They are confusing me.

The best warrior is a well-rounded one.
