  1. 1. How should we go about the Soulstone Pillar System?

    • Able to bind to One Soulstone pillar at a time.
    • Limited Unlockable Soulstone pillars throughout world, depending on donator rank.
    • Infinitely Unlockable Soulstone Pillars throughout the world. They're accessible after they've been unlocked.
    • Other, I'll post a comment of my brilliant idea.
    • None, I dislike Soulstone Pillars

It's clear the majority agree that traveling by road is great for role-play. Not only does it increase the chance of it taking place but it can also be a shared experience. Now let's say you can click a pillar that takes you to a particular city. Why not merge both these concepts? Make it mandatory that a person must follow the traditional road. After some time, say 5 - 10 minutes of walking there is a pillar. This can then take you 5 - 10 minutes away from your destination.

Users are grateful they have had there 40+ min walk reduced and they still get to enjoy 10-20 minutes of potential roleplay whilst traveling. For so long we have been under the assumption that all forms of warps must take you directly to the desired location. I think we should address that. In regards to personal /setsoul that it should still be in affect but can only be activated at one of these pillars. Meaning that yes you can warp to your own location provided you do some initial traveling.

I hope I have not repeated anything already said and would like to know what you think.

I agree! Don't fix what ain't broken. What you must understand is that Vaq's plugins were terribly broken.

If you have a house in the wilds, use your /setsoul location. I never removed that, you just don't get multiple locations at the moment.

Then /setsoul is broken or glitched because I can't use it

I totally agree, however for characters that live in small villages, this is a serious problem because they might not have a road accompanied by a pillar just for their individual village...

Good point, however, I still think there are a lot of other superior methods, the one suggested not being one of them.

Sir, Ski_King3

Why do you not suggest them, then ?

How about this; Bind to 2(other numbers are fine here) pillars, have one location selectable by you. Donators can select more locations of their own accordance.

How about 1 pillar for each capital then two select soul options for people who live in villages and so forth

That's actually what limited represents in the poll. :)

This sounds good to me, in some ways. I'm still not sure about the donator thing.

I don't understand... The new message system isn't new. It's the default one we've started with.

I haven't had any experience with the old system, but to me only having one or a small amount of locations seems best. I think a big part of rp is realistic journeys through mountains, valleys, towns ect. If people could teleport anywhere they wanted then small encounters on the road and staying in an inn would not happen.

It's always the..

well there still be custom locations?

And I am opposed to infinite soul stone locations, it would kill travel rp, and as a sailor, has the potential to also kill half of sailing rp there as well.

I think Soul stones destroy roads RP which is a very unique form of role playing. People usually don't know how to make it interesting. When I am on Roads I usually stop periodically when I have something to say about the scenery or about my characters experiences. I like to think that if I am leading on a road my character becomes Hadvar/Ralof from Skyrim. I will point things out and cite random facts I have learned as well as tell interesting tidbits of stories. I think this is a much better alternative to holding down the W key and the space bar.
