Elven Fire

*Both elves of Malinor and Haelun'or are congregated around a small fire at night. The discussion appears to be of the recent events unfolding, regarding the elven aisle. The discussion appears to shift as a single elf approaches. White robes trail behind him then light appears to shift awkwardly about for a moment. He bears like others, the news that Sythra Duskwind was banished and the curious predicament Elene Silverwind finds herself in. The discussion continues.*

((Essentially somewhere to forum RP while the server is down. Feel free to post and continue in hopes some semblance of interesting forum RP will arise. It would be good to assume that elves, along with those of other races who live in other nations [including Oren] are not present. Worded carefully.))

Salamandra had been sitting near the fire for at least an hour as the man in white approached. During most of his time there, bored, he had begun drawing strange symbols in the dirt with a stick and staring endlessly into the fire. When the night was over, he would begin looking for Lafthi or Areon, and hope to spark some interesting conversation with them.

But why was he here now? He had no distinct reason, he simply had nothing else to do.

Without care for conversation, he continued drawing in the dirt as the man approached.

*The figure in white speaks.*

"It is the actions of the delightful heial'mali which have brought us to this point today, not Sythra alone. Indeed, it was the heial'mali which made the decision to ally with the bortu. This High Council, unwavering in its decision and alliance despite copious amounts of demur from the mali'aheral.

It was we who claimed the alliance was sheer folly. This same decision was one that those upon the council in the past had avoided due to the pugnacious nature of the bortu. Yet, it was done.

This defensive agreement was furthermore stretched when the High Commander Khel brought your delightful forces to aid the bortu despite what I was informed, that the pact was of purely defensive nature. Regardless of petty semantics, such should have been deliberated before such imprudent action was taken. After all, is it not the curse of the valah that we have more time to ponder such?

Now it seems Mrs. Duskwind has lost her very mind. The final vestiges of such only slipping away recently."

*The figure exclaims sarcastically*

"What impeccable timing, no?!

*He continues once more*

"Furthermore to all these ill-fated events it now seems the valah seek to force their rule upon the heial'mali with Mrs. Silverwind.

Not only has the heial'mali seemingly doomed Malinor to years of adversity but also has doomed its neighbor Haelun'or to what appears to be a similar fate. Perhaps it is a time to remember that a lack of foresight is also the mark of valah."

((For those elven impaired among us; heial'mali means High Council))

A male figure in a dark robe lingers afar from the fire. The garments he dons seem tattered and odd, and when closely studed, the Emblem of House Ipos, a Dark Elven house ruled by Abdiel Ipos, son of Vor'Kalan is visible. After several moments, Abdiel reluctantly treks to the fire and settles himself beside it. His hood remains on and it hides his facial features behind a shroud of darkness as as keeps quiet.

((Pardon any lack of responses, on my phone.))

*Lafthi walks up to the fire, just in time to hear the white figure's speech. Afterwards he simply sits on a slightly decaying log close to fire. He bundles himself in his robes a little tighter, and stares into the fire, with a face full of thought, but not saying anything yet.*

*The figure shifts his hood from his head, revealing Kalenz's face. He scans the crowd with his turquoise eyes intently.*

"Surely there is one who may support the hieil'ikru and its actions!? One who wishes to defend their decisions? Come! Speak!"

((hieil'ikru = Foolish council.))

Relgard Sintel sits before the fire, his hood over his head and veil over his face. Sitting on his lap are his knives, gleaming in the firelight as he sharpens and inspects them.

Looking up as Kalenz approaches, he tilts his head and listens, shaking his head slowly. He stands, muttering to himself. "This is why I left the damned city of theirs..." and leaves, placing the knives back in their sheathes as he walks.

"A corrupt government's peoples do not support their corrupt government unless they have as much dire intent than their very own rulers. You will not see any support from I, One In Whte."

He replies slowly, his voice deep. Abdiel's eyes lock on the fire or several seconds before he turns his gaze to Salamandra.

*Lafthi looks up from the fire and addresses the few surrounding the fire, in a quiet, but somewhat sharp tone.*

"Debating what has already happened is for the historians. The council has already made a decision. However, many more are still open to us. Perhaps we should be discussing those decisions we have yet to make instead of debating whether the decisions we have already made are good or for ill. Unless we can speak of the future, I fear the elves will have none."

"Perhaps you mistake corruption for a sheer lack of intelligence? I cause affront to them not because of corruption but rather because of their actions. As for you-"

*Kalenz looks to Lafthi*

"Multitudes of potential options do not solve a problem llir, they simply make the final decision more difficult and often the results far more grim. Especially if the hieil'ikru is to continue on its path of inferior decision making."

"No-doubt their minds are riddled with the plague of foolishness, One In White. Their minds have been like that for a time, but I believe the foolishness transitioned into a loss of sanity, or, ironically, decency. How I pale to see the comparison of the Malinor that was within Aegis to this.. abomination."

Another shrouded figure within the same robes as fellow member moves along the ground. As he moves a clear sign of House Ipos is seen on his tattered robes as his face is blocked out by the shadows. Silently he sits next to the other shrouded figure, nodding to him once before settling down next to him. He says nothing and watches as the White-Cloaked one speaks and listens on for anything that catches his attention.

*Kalenz frowns at this comment from Abdiel but remains silent, quietly observing those around him and the entry of the curious shrouded figure.*

"These open decisions you speak of are exactly what is required. If the council is making decisions that the people do not approve of, then the people must let the council know. How are they to do that without coming to a decision themselves? Complaining of a decision that is made will solve nothing. Elves coming together to make a decision is what is needed now."

*Lafthi turns to Abdiel*

I too agree that Malinor did not transition well from Aegis. Upon our move it seems we lost ourselves. How we will rediscover what we lost will be no easy task.

Abdiel nods to his brother whose just arrived, and continues,

"The End-Times of Malin's brood seems to be upon us. But what shall we do, retaliate against both the humans and Malinor itself?

I believe retaliation is what got the Elven race in this pitiful ordeal in the first place."
