Ranks

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Initiate: All new recruits are automatically initiates. During this time, they learn the ropes of how to be an effective bannermen. Usually, a new bannermen will spend one or two elven weeks as an initiate before being promoted to footman. Recruits are not always considered to be the most respected but are respected as citizens all the same. Initiates are not paid until it is known that they can be trusted upon which they are promoted to footman.

Footman: These are the rank and file men of House’s forces. Their tasks include patrolling the duchy in times of peace, and fighting for the House Valois in times of war. They gain slightly more respect then a regular citizen, being accepted into the bannermen. They are granted a larger space in the barracks as well as a base pay of 100 minas per elven week.

Sergeant: Footman who have proven themselves are made sergeants. They train new initiates, lead patrols, and in times of war lead squads of footmen in battle. It is a decently respected position, as it is directly below the captain.Their bonuses include their own room and a base pay of 150 minas.

Captain: The captain is responsible for recruiting new bannermen and making sure it runs smoothly. They organize that overall strategies and ensure that the bannermen are well supplied. In times of war, they usually command large groups of bannermen. The captain is a very respected position. Their bonuses include their own room in the barracks, an office, a large plot of land within the Dutchy and a base pay of 200 minas.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Rules of the Banner:

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I - Treat your higher ups with respect, as the higher ups should do the same with the lowers. Listen to the higher ups and do as they say, as a well fit community makes for the better organization.

II - Listen to the Duke’s words over all, including his family. Though the noble family is above all within Auvergne, the Duke reigns supreme.

III - Provide a good living environment to all citizens as they deserve it. This means to protect them and assist them in what they may need, so long as it is reasonable. Citizens assist in the building of our towns and Duchy, they deserve the respect.

IIII - Have the will and bravery to stand no matter the risk. Stand by the side of the Duchy and Duke at all times, and protect both with your life. Ill-willed men and women are not what the Bannermen need.

*Symodimi looks at the advertisement and mutters to himself*

"What is the point of having a Bannermen Order protecting a nearly deserted Duchy? There's no one in Auvergne most of the time..."

*He then walks away whistling*
