The Order of the Temple Knights

History:

The Temple knights were a secret order founded by the first Highcross, Tiberius the III in the late years of Aegis. The order thrived under the noses of many unaware citizens until the point of Tiberius’ death, after which it declined, dividing into many groups with their own intentions. One branch survived in the end, carrying the ideas of the Temple Knights with them to Asulon. This seed of Tiberius further declined in Asulon, eventually fading into one family, the family of Wulfguard. The members of this family passed the ideas down from parent to child, an eventuality that would lead to Gunjar, who attempted to once again raise the order. Although he did not succeed with his goal and his time on the earth was drawing to a close, he set his son, Brinyolf, with a task, a task that would rule over the rest of his life….. To revive the Temple Knights.

Information:

The Temple Knights are a secret order created with a simple purpose, to protect the many people inhabiting these lands, though serving the people may differ for the eyes of the Temple Knight than a non-brother. The Temple Knights view the governemnt as the Citizens it contains rather than just royalty, although they respect the Emperor and his officials as leaders of the people, and know their roles are important for order within the Empire. They live by a strict ordinance set down by Tiberius in the final years of his life, and a code of knight’s honor.

The Temple Knight Ordinance:

“This ordinance was forged by the blood of the first Highcross Tiberius, and it is to be the standard for Temple knight conduct to come.” –Temple Creed book vol.1 ch.2

1. Thou shalt respect thy brother.

2. Thou shalt submit to authority within the Order.

3. Thou shalt remain in silence about thy order to any non-brother unless permitted to speak by an Acolyte or higher official.

4. Thou shalt not dishonor anyone of the order or any symbol pertaining to the order.

5. Thou shalt remain silent during gatherings, unless permitted to speak.

6. Thou shalt follow the orders of the Highcross above all others.

7. Thou shalt not profess to be a different rank than what you are within the order.

8. Thou shalt respect all higher ranked members.

9. Thou shalt follow the Knight’s code.

10. If one chooses to retire from this order, they must remain silent about the secrets of the order, even on the pain of death.

The Knight’s code of Honor

1. You must strive to protect all innocent peoples to the extent of your ability.

2. You must grant your enemies a swift death, if you are forced to end them.

3. You shall not seek to dishonor thy enemies.

4. You shall not seek to challenge a weaker or unarmed opponent, though you are allowed to accept one from them.

Ranks:

Highcross:

The leader of the Order, This rank is one to be both feared and respected. The Highcross serves a lifetime role, and deals with gatherings as well as commanding the order. He is the only one of the order with the right to promote members of the order above initiate, although he listens to the Acolyte’s suggestions in this matter. When a major decision occurs he has the final say in the matter, although he will gather votes from the rest of the order and base his decision off of that.

Acolyte:

The senior members of the order, these knights have shown great loyalty and skill in mind or battle. They are the only ones entrusted with the full secrets of the order. They are tasked with advising the Highcross as well as the recruitment and training of Initiates and Proselytes.

Proselyte:

The standard knight of the order, they have shown a good amount of loyalty as well as perseverance. They are entrusted with a few of the order’s secrets, as well as receiving the order’s signature weapon, the Clawblade. Their duties are defending the order among other tasks.

Initiate:

A recruit to the order, they are subject to rigorous training and discipline. The task of a Temple knight is not one for the faint of heart. They are not entrusted with any of the order’s secrets and are carefully watched throughout their training period. They can be tasked with whatever the order needs done.

Special ranks:

These ranks can only be occupied by one person at a time. These will only be given to the highest ranking and most trusted Acolytes of the order.

The Sword:

A professional warrior of the Order, The Sword is tasked with defending the Highcross with his life as well as leading a division of knights.

The Shield:

The guardian of all the secrets of the order, he is sworn not to speak of the secrets unless the brother can give proof of his rank as an acolyte.

The Voice:

An ambassador to Temple knight aligned areas, he is charged with keeping order amongst the Temple knights in different areas around Asulon as well as representing them.

You cannot be a part of any other order, being a Temple Knight is a full time job.

You must understand all rules before joining.

You must be initiated into the order Ic’ly before you can call yourself a Temple Knight

You must not lie about anything concerning yourself on your application.

You must have a decent amount of roleplaying experience, This is a Roleplaying guild over a fighting guild.))

Our names are the names of angels, we do not gather for fame, we gather for health and justice. Our lives will save hundreds, we harm the harmful, we protect the weak and save the innocent. How necessitous this mad world shall be as I Triglav War, redeem my holy rank as The Sword, I shall breath the rank and be grateful for having a part in making the realm a fair better home for those who sleep and wake up to chaos. We shall make use and protect the realm in shadows night!
