Danny 2232 Share Posted January 9, 2013 UPDATE:Now only zombies, villagers, giants and 'zombie villagers' will drop minas. The item drops from other mobs have been altered to tailor to this. Still working on sorting this issue with leather. Money, Mobs and 3.0 Howdy folks! Danny here - bringing you a wee bit of news about the recent server updates. Today, we returned to a economy system almost identical to iConomy (it runs the exact same commands, so you wont be getting confused). This system is a fantastic way for us to manage the economy, so we'll be sticking with it. Secondly, today, we put 'mob-drops' back into play. Now mobs will drop minas when you kill them - initially (when we first installed this plugin) the drops were rather high, so they're being dropped lower again to stop us having a horrid economy. In addition to that, some of the current item drops shouldn't be happening (e.g. leather), so we'll also be fixing that. And thirdly - we've been having quite a bit of bother updating the forum software to the latest version. We'll be trying again shortly, and as soon as we successfully do that - I'll be popping out a rather fancy little piece about 3.0! Keep an eye out for that - as it's going to give you a huge amount of information about what it is that we're aiming for, what's changing with the new map - and all the other aspects that we'll be altering with our upcoming release. Enjoy your roleplay, Danny and the Lord of the Craft Staff

Danny 2232 Author Share Posted January 9, 2013 Money drops need to be removed. I disagree entirely - they have always been a fundamental aspect of our economy. The claims that they 'ruin the economy' are fruitless. They simply actually give people money, and not even large amounts at that.

Hiebe 2493 Share Posted January 9, 2013 I disagree entirely - they have always been a fundamental aspect of our economy. The claims that they 'ruin the economy' are fruitless. They simply actually give people money, and not even large amounts at that. People get food, money, and valuable drops from mobs thus making it easy to be self sufficient and do nothing good towards the economy. It encourages people to be mob hunters instead of farmers or guards which I will tell you are payed way less.
cruzazul 2815 Share Posted January 9, 2013 I also think the mob drops aren't entirely needed. For one it makes things a lot more grindy and unrealistic as people will go out and slay hundreds of mobs at one time. We could do without it, it would make people have to be more involved in buying and selling wares.

Not to be a nuisance, but there were farmers and guards aplenty toward the beginnings of Aegis, and the mob drops back then were much more than considerable. What I mean to say is that whatever lead to the change, I don't believe it was money dropping from mobs, at least not that alone.
no longer active 734 Share Posted January 9, 2013 Then the mobs drops should allow kingdoms to pay more and not be so stingy when paying the guards.
