Server Update: Money, Mobs And 3.0

People get food, money, and valuable drops from mobs thus making it easy to be self sufficient and do nothing good towards the economy. It encourages people to be mob hunters instead of farmers or guards which I will tell you are payed way less.

People don't get any form of valuable drops from mobs? They get a few minas, and a small item - how does this cause people to not roleplay as guards?

In-fact, I would totally consider the opposite. People do roleplay other jobs, even if they do make a small amount of extra money from killing the occasional mob.

I do believe that the 50/50 drop chance, along with the small amount of minas is more than suitable for us - and will benefit the economy, more than harm it.

I really like the money drops, they let those who can not craft things or cook things (Guards and hunters for example) make money for the work they do. Anyway... Thank you for the update Danny, have a good day all post readers :D

As long as the money drops are not very high I'm happy. We need less hunters and more cooks and smiths.

Yes, the mob drop rates were rather high. Thanks for the update Danny.

Money drops need to be removed.

Sorry to disagree with you Hiebe, but minas makes LotC more economically stable (IG at least) and makes the game more fun for everyone. Without money, you had to find different ways to pay, and something that might have been valuable to you could have been considered trash to another (One man's trash could be another's treasure!), and even though finding our own payment method is creative and fun, it just does not make buying and selling fair or organized. Without minas, it would be chaos, in my opinion.

I disagree entirely - they have always been a fundamental aspect of our economy. The claims that they 'ruin the economy' are fruitless. They simply actually give people money, and not even large amounts at that.

I'm going to have to disagree with you there Danny, sure the amount of money going into a players pocket may only be 50 minas or w/e rate you decide to set it at, but it with hundreds of players out there potentially farming mobs for Minas you are going to inflate the economy in a matter of weeks. The base rate of items will need to go up to compensate.

Kingdom really have no form of income, and we still have to hire guards. Meanwhile, bandit groups can make a small base, kill, and grind mobs, get minas, and attack an entire kingdom single handedly. I am against mob drops, for this reason.

Mob drops only help a few....well everyone now that there is no skill/profession plugin. Anyone can kill mobs make money and take on the world.

So we are breaking even more our broke economy. Normal workers do not have any means to get money from their goods as there is no demand, because everybody can simply go and collect needed goods by themselves. Kingdoms do not have income to pay for their workers and guards. For kingdom go and farm mobs to have money is not an income.

Although I agree that we can increase items drops for mobs a bit, to make life easier for hunters and warriors. And for money none or less than 0,5 mina per mob, because you can assume that hunter kill hundreds of mobs a day ant you do not want for regular workers earning more from regular encounters with mobs than from their real job.

If it is easier to simply go and kill some mobs to earn required amount of money, than to do your job, then it is not a good thing for economy.

As it stands there is more incentive to just go out and farm mobs than take on an actual profession and RP life.

I propose that mobs only drop items or a VERY small amount of minas and that there be a set exchange rate for items like there was in the beginning of Aegis. This official exchange rate could exist for a period of time to stablize the 3.0 economy by giving initial values for people to base transactions off of.
