Zezimus 1523 Share Posted January 22, 2013 In the raid yesterday you had atleast 7 guys and the Orcs had 11. Then you got another 6 from the hold which we tried to ambush but they got in the fort. Orcs vs Dwarves is fun because we know we have a chance but with Oren its just boring. Seriously why can't the Dwarves fight their own battes? Too many "Help, help, help, I need help" from the Dwarves yesterday when you guys largely outnumbered us. You had a lot more than 11 when you were sitting outside for a while before Oren came. Alliances are alliances and if you don't like them, handle them ICly. Thunder, that had been our original plan until another war started. To be honest, we were perfectly happy focusing on RP within the nation before all this. We all wanted it to to be fun but the amount of raging over every minute detail that isn't agreed with is becoming a strain for both sides. THUNDER37 162 Share Posted January 22, 2013 My idea for solving this is fairly simple. Look at real life battles.. The death count that comes with them is unreal. Let a ceremony be held, before we move to the next island (preferably soon.) which is a large scale burial of our fallen kin in which King thorik declares no more war until we reach our new home. That there is to be a cease fire of sorts. Many people won't be having kids on this island, and Dwarven ranks may be lowering a fair amount through these battles, etc... etc... Have the Rex present, where him and the King declare a time of peace, until they reach their new home. A blood pact of both sides. Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...

Zezimus 1523 Share Posted January 22, 2013 The issue there is that the dwarves believe the orcs broke the last pact and so we deem them oathbreakers. Suddenly signing a peace treaty wouldn't make sense in character, though it's probably best to just let RP unfold. Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...
THUNDER37 162 Share Posted January 22, 2013 From what I see there are three options: End the war IC'ly: This would have to involve some serious co-operation on both sides OOC'ly and a stretch of current RP to suit both sides. Possibly through my option, which would not only go for the Dwarves but the Orcs aswell. Along with Oren's knights or through another solution -shrug- End the war OOC'ly: This would make even less sense than an IC option and would simply end it. It would be more effective however and allow us to resume RolePlay imediately in peace times. Continue the war: This would enduce a massive amount of arguing from the community involved. No doubt there, however I believe this could be rectified by simply disbanding a massive amount of rules which are currently in place. Both sides can use what the heck on earth they want to attack/defend. For example: The entire ladder thing was Bulls***, mainly because when attacking a wall I use a grapple hook attached to a rope which I then use to haul up the ladder. So slanted sides etc... etc... Would have no effect on this. I don't massively get how this would effect any ladders... A time period between raids? Lower this to a day. There is no need to wait in RP.. If you're losing that badly, make a pact with the oposing side and pay them of for a time of peace via materials etc... Stop bitching that you're getting owned and accept that you may have to submit or die. Leniancy cannot be given OOC'ly in terms of a short break between raids. GaiusMarius 89 Share Posted January 22, 2013 Kinda hard to avoid when people like to find the tiniest loophole in order to start/join battles they know they'll win. This isn't actually directed at the dwarves, so much as the general population who seem to simply hop into battles that they would gain nothing from RPly. I wish that there was more cost to mobilizing an entire army, that way it would not be as easy as "Oh, so and so is going to battle, we better join up". I suppose what I'm trying to say is that when running a nation being "pissed off" at another nation should not be reason enough to go to war. I'm sure the US has been pissed off at other countries a fair number of times, but we don't go declaring war willy-nilly. And we don't go hopping into the fights of other nations all the time either, it simply makes no sense. Sultan 3953 Share Posted January 22, 2013 I spoke to zezimus, and he dose not mind about not attacking you, till 3.0 but if only you do not attack them but that dose not mean there is a official ceasefire as in rp that would not make sense for them, so its just a we stop attacking till 3.0. I remember there being at least one altercation a day over the past week and a half. So now we seek an end to it all, and as the one person said, it truly makes no sense for anybody to be warring at the moment.
