Regions & Resource gathering areas seem all that is left - it'll be well worth the wait due to how these are being handled, I'll do my best to light a fire under butts if need be :ugeek:

in the mean time, cats.

actually, not really. The issue is that 3.0 has been almost obtainable for months now, since November. I was excited then. And then when the map pf Asulon went poof, I was excited because surely the staff would release 3.0 soon. But no go. So we have been told that 3.0 will be "soon"  for quite awhile now. After so long the excitement level diminishes and the response becomes. "oh they're releasing it soon? Probably in a another month or so." *shrug*

I do look forward to having a permanent map again, however. And the possible return of my main char. And the builds look fantastic. But really, I'm just tired of the wait. I'll be excited the day 3.0 actually is released.

I'm sorry you feel that way, however I do feel it necessary to respond to your comments here. It's hardly been 'almost obtainable' of months - we cut off building two days ago, and there were still some areas that had just had their final details done - and a couple that we needed to re-whitelist one or two people for. We only announced it as being nearly ready last month - and we made it clear before then that it wouldn't be any time soon. We weren't going to release a map we'd been working on for months in an uncompleted state - that would be a huge waste of time, and defeat the entire purpose of us making it into exactly what we need. It's been 'soon' for a month at most, and right now - it is definitely extremely soon.

The actual release date is to be decided upon very soon - currently, we have a rough estimate amongst the staff, but we aren't saying anything until we have the exact day.

Dear staff,

please write: "I will keep a backup of the 3.0 map on an alternate drive." 800 times. Thanks

Oh and there's the incredibly stupid amount and use of secrecy. We are told literally nothing about Anthos save from the usual vague sentence or two in each update. This all comes after the administration assured us there would be fewer secrets kept from us.

There's an unusual amount of ungratefulness lingering in the air here :3

Come on chaps 'n' chapettes. Let's not kick a gift horse in the mouth here! 3.0 has been moulded for your benefit, and a large number of people have been spending their evenings working tirelessly away to make that happen for you. The map itself will make up for the wait. I can assure you of that.

Danny basically just said...

"We're not giving the release date"

I guess I'm excited, but the lack of committing to a date is really annoying to me. It's basically causing us to push it back continuously because there is no drive or insentive to finish it quickly. I can understand that it wouldn't come out this weekend but it could easily come out by next weekend if there would be some sort of commitment or reason to finish it quickly. A release date would give people the reason to push through and get it done sooner than later. I'm sorry for complaining but that's just how I've seen it. I am overly greatful for what the builders and staff have been doing.

Ah, 3.0 I am very excited. :) Sorry to complain, but please stop saying "soon". I want it now! I WANT IT. :3 On a serious note, thanks to all the people who helped make 3.0 possible. :)

"Committing to a date" before we finish causes the builders to rush, which causes sloppy unchecked work, which in turn leads to an unfinished and broken map. This is not a guess, we have tried this before and it turned out to work horribly for us, so we decided to take our time and ensure that the map was finished before we officially made any indication of a release date. If we had gone with a release date of December as was originally intended when the map was first thought up, the build teams would have ended with cities that they don't like, the map would be without the various event areas, easter eggs and locations to explore, regions wouldn't be set up properly and things would break leading to even more drama, etc.

You may be annoyed, but I'd have an annoyed playerbase that finds out later on that it was worth it rather than an impatient playerbase that gets a broken map. Patience is a virtue, good things come to those who wait, etc. etc. I'm sure you know the sayings.
