Out-Of-Character

Information

Please

fill out the following questions as accurately as possible, and ensure the

essential details are accurate.

[Elf]

Minecraft

Account Name: guenther

How

old are you?: 13 (14 in a few weeks)

Time-Zone:

Central

Have

you read, understood and agreed to the rules?: Yes

What

previous experience have you had in role-playing?: I have had trouble finding a

Minecraft server that does serious role-play, and I have never done it in real

life. I do write stories in my notebooks though in which I’m a character, so I

think I’ll be good at role-playing.

How

did you hear about the the Lord of the Craft?: I was searching the web for a

minecraft server that does serious role-play.

Link

any applications that you have previously made for the server: http://www.lordofthecraft.net/forum/index.php?/topic/81763-elf-guenthers-app/

Have

you posted this application on the Minecraft Forum? If not, then please do so

(link above): Yes

Have

you read the Elven lore, and shall you ensure you make use of it and follow it

in your biography?: Yes

Definitions

In

your own words define the following terms. Do not take any definitions from

elsewhere!:

Role-playing:

A group of people pretending to be someone they are not (most of the time it’s

fantasy based characters) and making a story to go with their characters. They
would then speak as if they were their character and pretend to be in a time
period that they aren’t really in. (ex: “Would I like to go to the tavern with
ye? Of course I would, I would do anythin’ for a bit of rum right about now!”)

Meta-gaming:

Saying things in character that your character would normally have no way of
knowing. (ex: Someone msg’s you from far away and tells you that other person
you are talking to currently is evil. You then would tell the person that you
are talking to currently to go away because you want nothing to do with them.
This would be strange though because in the role play, you might be best of
friends with them and would have no realistic way of knowing that they are
evil.)

Power-emoting:

When you say something in the game that prevents another person from changing

it. ( ex: Guenther takes out a knife and kills you. Friend hits Guenther
stopping her attack. Guenther dodges Friend’s hit and cuts his legs off. Friend
avoids Guenther’s knife and kills her with a sword.) It eventually starts to
just get unrealistic.

In-Character

Information:

Complete

the following biography on your character:

Full

Name: Hiylu Celia Thillnibar

Current

Age: appears to be 18 (That’d be about 70 in elf years right?)

Sub-race

(if any): Considered a wood-elf (See history for more)

Past

/ History (include childhood, major-events, etc. 2+ paragraphs long): Hiylu
Celia Thillnibar was born on  December 12th
in her parents cottage just outside of Normandor. During her childhood, it was
hard for her to make friends because she stood out a lot. This was because
while her father was a High Elf, her mother was a Wood Elf. Hiylu has golden
skin, but she has brown hair. She is quite tall, but she is also kind. These
differences were a perfect target for the High Elves’ bullying. Hiylu tried to
be strong and never let it get her down. She would often tease back or just
walk away. On the inside though, these mean comments hurt her a lot, and she never
had that many friends because of this teasing. This caused her parents to teach
her at home instead of sending her to school like the other children.

                About twice every year, a
traveling merchant caravan would come and stay in the forest where Hiylu lived.
It was common for caravans to come through
the forest because of the fact that she lived outside of Normandor. Traveling
with this caravan were three human girls from Arethor: Jamie, Silvia, and Marcy.
They became good friends with Hiylu, despite her bloodline. This intrigued her,
starting her curiosity with the human race. She likes human so much because
they don't seem to care much about her bloodline and have always accepted her.
Because these human girls were her only friends and boys always teased her,
Hiylu often struggled with talking to boys her age. She has never had a true
relationship before and she doesn't know how exactly to have one. Once, a human
boy from Solace asked if she would like to court with him. Not knowing how to
respond, she was startled and quickly walked away. No one has ever approached
her in that way since.

When she was about 7 in human
years, her father (His name was Yulnuvul Thillnibar) passed away. He died in
the front lines of a war with the Orc clan of Gorkil. Ever since then, Hiylu
hasn’t been friendly towards Orcs and hardly ever associates herself with them.
Her father’s death added on to the weight of the bullying. Hiylu was always
smiling though, and no one thought she could ever be sad. She didn't want to
worry her mother (Her name is Karinah Thillnibar) because she already had
enough worry to deal with. Her mother tried to take care of her, but Hiylu felt
guilty because she knew there wasn’t enough money. She would often try to go
and find odd jobs to do for people so she could help her mother pay the rent.

She decided to leave home at the age of 18(The
point in time where I’ll start in the game). She promised her mother that she
would send money home to help. She was sad to leave her mother, but she was
also excited. She would think: This is an
adventure! Just like the ones in my books!
She plans to head to the island
of ArmaLuna to buy a house and enjoy the music there. Hiylu loves music almost
as much as she loves nature. She likes to sit in the forest at night and listen
to the wind and the animals. It’s her dream though to visit the Holy Oren
Empire at some point, though her mother’s well-being comes first. She also is a
member of the Reformed Church (even though sometimes traveling prevents her
from attending services.), and considers this a journey of faith.

                Hiylu often thinks about her
father because he was always very kind to her. He would tell her to follow her
heart and don’t worry about what others thought. Her mother said that he used
to tease her when they were young, but they eventually fell in love with her
and something changed inside of him. Hiylu always loved to hear her mother’s
stories. She would often sit in her mother’s lap while she told her stories of
her youth. She plans to return to her mother one day, but not before she has as
many stories to tell her mother as her mother has to tell her.

Ambitions

for the Future: Wants to see the world and study the human culture. Also, wants
to send enough money back home so that her mother can live peacefully for the
rest of her life.

Personality:

Kind (Except when talking to High Elves of course), mildly outgoing, curious (especially
about humans), and friendly.

Skills:

Not especially good at anything.  She
does odd jobs a lot for people, so she never knows what she’ll be doing. Often
reads a lot though, so she is pretty comfortable with speaking the ancient
Elven language. (Loves taking care of animals, decorating houses with plants,
music, singing, dancing, and sitting in the forests at night though).

Appearance

(this must include an in-game screenshot of your skin): Brown hair (I know it’s

supposed to be rare, but I’m special okay? ;) ), golden skin, and blue
eyes. She

is about 6’ 7” currently and weighs about 130 pounds.

Any

other details you wish to share about your character: Sometimes can be a bit of

a rebel (ex: she sometimes sneaks out at night to sit in the forest or hangs

out with humans).

Open-Response-Questions

Each

question in this section must be answered with a minimum of one paragraph which

must describe the event in full. Please be as descriptive as possible and do
not

break character or lore at any point.

____

1.

As you walk through the deep forests you hear the sound of whispering and

snickering. Upon inspection you realize that a group of High Elves are mocking

a small Wood Elf child. How do you react?

Answer:

 I
walk over to the High Elves, and say accusingly, “And what do you think you’re
doing?”

“Nothing that requires your approval,”
one of the High Elves retaliates.

“Well maybe it doesn’t, but that
doesn’t make it right,” I say.

“Why don’t you just mind your own
business half-breed!” another says.

“Because I wouldn’t be able to live with
myself if I did,” I shot back as I stood in front on the Wood Elf child; arms
open wide as if defending him from an evil monster. “You all think you’re so
much better than everyone else. Can’t you just leave him alone?”

“It’s not as much fun then,” the first
elf retaliated with a smirk, “So why don’t you just go crawl back into the
half-breed hole that you were born in.”

“I’m sorry,” I said with an equally
annoying smirk, “but I’m afraid I wouldn’t be able to find a hole big enough to
crawl into since the biggest one I can find is your mouth.”

“Why you little…” the first elf started
to say, but one of the other elves motioned at him to stop.

“Come on, let’s find something else to
do,” another High Elf says, “This isn’t fun anymore.”

As they leave, I turn to the Wood Elf
child and ask “Are you okay?” The Wood Elf child nods, on the verge of tears.
“Alright then,” I say as I take his hand, “Let’s go find your parents.”

2.

Whilst wandering through the Elven forests you come across a frail old man with

a walking stick. He collapses in front of you, falling to the ground with a

sharp thud. Out of his pocket falls a small pouch of gold coins, which hits the

ground and splits open spreading coins across the pathway. The man lies there,

defenseless - what do you do?

Answer:

I bend down to pick up the old man. “Are you alright, sir?” I ask.

“I think so,” he says, “These bones
aren’t what they used to be though.” I help support the man to a nearby tree
where he sits down in the shade.

“Let me help you pick up those coins,”
I say, walking over to where the coins were scattered on the ground and picking
them up. “Here you are,” I say as I give the coins and the pouch back to him.

“Thank you, miss,” he says.

“Now, this may sound odd, but… are you a
human?” I ask with curiosity.

“Yes, why do you ask?”

“Oh, I am just very curious about
humans,” I reply, “They’re always so friendly no matter of race or opinion. You
see, my curiosity with humans started when I made friends with three human
girls for the first time. They were so kind that I wondered what kind of
culture they came from and… I should probably stop, shouldn’t I? I’m probably tiring
you with my rambling, apologies sir.”

“Hahaha, It’s quite alright,” he said,
“Your youth gives energy to my bones. I better get home or else my wife will
worry. Thank you for your kindness miss, good-bye.” With that, he got up and
started back down the path.

“Good-bye!” I called after him as I
waved, “Be safe!”

3.

Whilst traversing the Elven Woodlands, you come across a small clearing in

which a colored carriage sits. A trader stands outside of it and calls you
over,

telling you of his wares. He points out that his carriage sells just about

everything, and that he's willing for you to haggle for a price. What does your

character do? (Please include:- item, haggling for prices and the discussion

involved).

Answer:

Looking at the items for sale, I spotted a fox trapped in a cage. It looked
miserable and uncared for.

“How much for that small fox cub in the
cage?” I asked cautiously.

“One-hundred gold pieces,” He replied
with a smile. One-hundred gold pieces, I
thought to myself with shock, I only have
30 with me. If I want to rescue the fox, I will have to haggle him for a
smaller price.
Considering my words carefully, I said, “How about twenty?”

“I could drop it down to 80,” He said,
“Are you going to buy it or not?"

“Maybe if I included this loaf of bread
and this bag of apples” I say, pulling out my lunch.

 “Make
it thirty and you’ve got a deal!” he exclaims, eyeing the steaming wheat bread.
It is clear that he didn’t have much to eat.

“Thirty
it is!” I responded with excitement. We shook hands, and giving him the food
and money, I took the fox cub away from the carriage. I was very happy that I
had been able to rescue a poor and trapped animal. “You cost me a lot little
one,” I said quietly to the fox, “but I’m sure it was well worth it!”

Thanks for reading my application! :D

Much better. I like your character. She's original without being too special. You made modifications to your application as asked and did it well. A few notes for you before you begin:

Elves aren't too religious and High Elves don't like religion at all. Please keep this in mind as you stated your character is a member of the Reformed Church.

There's no real difference between Elven age and Human age. Years are tracked the same.

When you tell other characters your character's birthday, there is no December in Lord of the Craft. Instead, please use "Snow's Maiden"; It's pretty much our December equivalent. You can check how we measure our Months or "Seeds" and what we call our days and seeds on this page. It may seem a little complicated, but it's really quite simple. There's currently no way to track which seed it is, so feel free to make it up as you go... If you have any questions about the time system, feel free to send me a message.

We've currently moved from Asulon to Elysium and Kalos. We will be moving to Anthos on the 23rd. Anthos will be a more permanent map than our current one and much, much more beautiful. (Anthos is also known as 3.0.)

Also, if you have any questions about the Elven language, feel free to send me a message. I'm quite good with Elven.

With that said, please wait patiently for a Global Moderator (GM) to whitelist you. After that, your adventure can begin.

Welcome to Lord of the Craft!
