Looks the dwarf over, silent, his amber eyes reflecting light giving an effect that makes them look as if they were glowing dark orange. Kardel's cracked pale lips open, as his booming, grim voice emits from the crater at the center of his face.

 

"Ah'll Accept yer because yer reason is just. . .dat be all. . ."

 

Kardel turns and walks away, dragging his white ivory staff, crowned with a drake's head forged from mithril, with him, his iron tipped boots making a horrid 'clapping' sounds as they meet the wooden floor of the guild hall.

Resen fer joinin (At least 1 paragraph): My reason for joining da clan is cuz' since I was a boy I was interested in alchemy always wanted to learn about but I could never afford to learn more. Ive been taught by on old friend a bit about alchemy but I have much more to learn. About 25 years ago that friend died making me promise him to join the Dwarven Guild of Alchemy just like he did, and I hope to live up to that promise. Alchemy I think is something that will help me the old bloke to find something meaningful out of this absurd world. And I think that i would want to join this guild because I know the people there and I think it is the best guild for me to learn in alchemy in.

One day, while Raak was patrolling the walls he thought to himself, "This work is boring, just watching these citizens do nothing all day is not fulfilling enough for me." 

 

Raak, born and raised by a blacksmith, never really had much time to explore other trades. As his family was always tight on minas he had to help around the smith often. Since Raak was forced to do this labor, he grew up resenting the smith. While Raak always had a fancy for swordplay, the guard-life wasn't for him, he needed something more... mind-stimulating. With a grunt of annoyance, Kardel throws his cloak over himself and makes his way to Vaerhaven on his mountain pony, opening the box containing applications for the guild and reads them over, crumpling some of them in his hand and flinging them away. Kardel eventually comes to Raak's application.

 

"Well. . .dis be da way ah started olchemeh. Ah wus bored, an' toired uv mah current loife. Ah' fink ah'ma accept yer"

      Long before I became a man, I was living on the streets, knowledge and progression as my guide. I possessed no teacher, and I was forced to learn things for myself. Off The common tongue of others I learned how to write, and after that I went off to search for more promising pieces of knowledge. After many searches, first for a righteous cause to grow wise with, then a sorce of knowledge through magic, and fginally i find that I search for the power of creating alchemical treatments, and practicing and testing my knowledge and memory. First, I experimented with Blazing fern, in which I've made a crippling poison out of the seeds' grounded powder and a cider, along with the abdomen of a spider, and some of its silk. Now, I'm looking for more knowledge, hoping to find progression in the arts of Alchemy.

Emerges from the depths of the Karirdmarr, and notices Gauldrim there. His lips curve into a smile, as he nears Gauldrim, wobbling to him slowly, using his staff for balance "Gauldrim lad! Ah 'eard ye were gone fer good!" Motions to the seats in the common room, where a fire is roaring in the hearth "Sit wif meh, we 'ave moch ta discuss, bot' good news an' bad news!" Smiling and jesting, Kardel awaits to hear of Gauldrim's whereabouts and adventures.

Kardel eventually comes across this application as he is looking through the others. He reads it over, and raises an eyebrow at it.

Ah can't prumise dis lad ta becume un master uv olchemeh, bot ah can promise 'im ta become un expert olchemest at da least. Ah'll need ta meet yer en persun ta discuss."

 

Kardel climbs up the stairs of the headquarters to the rookery and opens the bird cage labeled 'Vaerhaven'. He ties a note to its leg and sends it off. The letter reads:

 

"Asgorath Spellsword, I wish to arrange a meeting with you whenever convenient. I like to know novitiates before they start studying, and the interview will decide whether you shall be accepted or not."

 

The letter is sealed by green wax with the symbol of Ogradhad: an open book.
