Ok so I was wondering weather or not if Im allowed to build a simple and really fragile Hot Air Balloon. Aparently there has been a lot of people before who have built them and got blueprints for them. I wanted to make the whole roleplay for it. Even a post in the lore section. Note that Im not asking to make a complex steam engine ship. Just a balloon where in RP I will be able to transport my goods through the lands, but 100% asthetical. and that can be easily broken with an arrow. Also just to note the Hot Air Balloon tecnology has existed since the 3rd Century BC, known as Sky Lamps just if Timeline was a fact. Thank you and have a nice day.Final Veredict: As has been stated above, lore has been submitted for the implementation of Hot Air Balloons. The current status of it has been that it was accepted, but now that decision has been reconsidered and it will have to be reviewed again. Wretched 2075 Share Posted March 17, 2013 Hot air balloons are a form of aircraft, and for that to be made, a great deal of lore must be put into it with a great deal of support behind it. Many have tried this before with outstanding lore, but none have succeeded thus far. If you're really interested in making a hot air balloon, you'll need to work on lore rather than how it'll look. Maybe you should write up some lore and propose it to the lore team and over time you can create small air balloons and such in rp ;). The Womping Wizard 400 Share Posted March 17, 2013 I've had lore accepted and have built a hot air balloon under a few terms during the end of the summer but due to inactivity from myself and another it wasn't quite finished finished. I think it can be done again. However I'm not sure if a LM changed his/or mind because after Gauis' exit from LMship(I believe) it was moved to Dead/Denied. Understand that it would need lore, and explanation, but I could actually see the community using air balloons, as long as they are protected for PGing, as in maybe only carrying 1 person? Jistuma 1996 Share Posted March 17, 2013 People, a hot air ballon is not steampunk, it's a ballon with hot air. Truth be told nothing in lore forbides a hot air ballon but it would be a hard feet to aomplish. Also, you wouldn't have any way to coordinate where the ballon went, just like today, you can not control the dirrection of a hot air ballon, it follow the wind and only that. It would also not be possible to carry any goods in the ballon, and only 1-2 people max, or the weight would be too much.Make lore for it, take into acount all the problems it would bring, and take into acount that it would probably IC be useless, unless for the fact that it is a dream come true.
