The Antagonist And You

that's just availability application. you'll only actually become a servant of the antagonist if A) you are deemed good enough to become one and B) you are captured and corrupted in roleplay.

; P you can say if it's too mainstream or not once you see how many are actually considered good...or bad...enough to be corrupted.

Meh. Mob spam and overpowered magic is what made the Undead fun.

I have to agree with this. I liked the large crazy battles.

This. I was fine with lightning spam, hordes of enemies- but when I snuck up on a group of four undead, killed two, and found the other two had god-mod I was upset that I shortly after lightninged to death.

and it was decided that mob spawning and the spam of magical spells was a recipe for disaster that would not be repeated here.

It worked pretty well in Aegis.

Fighting against a Horde of Monsters to kill something that was OP was much more fulfilling that me running up to it and killing it.  I'd rather the Antagonist be overpowered, for you can fight Bandits for something that's not Overpowered like an Antagonist should be.

Good! Something to kill!

With that being said, will there also be an antithesis to the G****. The Undead had an antithesis and they were the Ascended, so out of curiosity, would these guys have the same thing?

Everything happens throughout RP. If you want something like that, why not create the group IC? Perhaps the GM's might pick up on it and offer a little assistance.

I think that doing something such as fighting through hordes of mobs to kill an evil enemy is satisfying and fun, but not if the mobs spawn right on top of you. I also think that a counteracting force to the evil (such as the ascended) is also a good idea but make it more of a guild of sorts, so people can retain there race and background and other standings more effectively. I am relativly new to LOTC but I have done my research on the old wars and I believe that you did it right, but it could use some minor changes (a few stated above)

Now this is purely my opinion so please nobody take offense (dont see how you could but still)

Cant wait to see what is in store for us

I took much offense. How dare you!!!  :yay:

No but really, we have an opposing force. Its players. You guys have the ability to stop the antagonist, the key will be released IG through hidden books and lore.

As far as mobspawning goes; this is an RP antagonist. And the view of myself, and the Gm/Admin team involved is that we want to stay away from this. Now this doesn't mean that mini ET ran, or GM ran events separate of the antagonist wont occur.

Personally, I'm not a fan of watching a large group of players attempting to slay a Wraith or whatever the RP Monster is.  It seems like a headache to be in and something that wouldn't be fun or rewarding.    When it's PvP, I doubt you'd be able to take on complete nations, some of them combined.

No one has said this will be the PVP aspects of battles. In fact, wraiths won't even be apart of battles. So what you aren't a fan of, neither am I. Which is why it's not apart of the antagonist.

I love the idea, I do; but something bugs me. I don't really.. feel fear. It sounds more of a Evil Guild rather than a full on Antagonist. Just seems bit weird, but it works somehow.

It's hard to really express its power and might without having to answer more questions and concerns w/o giving away lore. Some OPness is involved. Some very powerful and scary entities are involved. It can be viewed on the same level as a guild or a nation turn genocidal. Fear won't strike at first, but eventually no player will feel safe wandering roads alone or building into the wilds or deserted lands of Anthos.
