3. If  your Artifact book only appears blank when you try to read it, how will you know what information it has gathered about your future to use?

Well addressing question 1, i heavily doubt a conflict of interest as Abresi does not seek to have a library anytime soon.However, in the event at Abresi does somehow decide to build a library, and I am invited by people i know there, things will be much different... So it's hard to really say that i will not have a conflict of interest.

But I will not be copying Oracle's books for Abresi's libary or other interests(if it ever comes up) without the permission of the head librarian...

 

Addressing question 3, I guess i over-complicated it, I was trying to put across that the book is only readable to those that are Sharers of Knowledge(If you get what i am trying to say), and appear blank to those who are knowledge-hungry to boost their own power only.

Cyrus returns to Ac'talareh after a very long walk. He enters his room, hands still shaking from witnessing the killing of those he thought redeemable. Out of the corner of his eye, a singular letter was identified to be upon his desk.

 

He mumbles to himself "This life never ends..." and he walks over to investigate it. He breaks the seal with his thumb, and unfolds the parchment to read it. He practically tosses it to the side and retrieves blank parchment from a stack he has near the side of his desk. He writes this response:

 

'Dear Mr Crineas Acosta,

 

I have reviewed your application and found it interesting, but acceptable nonetheless. Your answer to the third question intrigued me the most, and definitely was the most creative response that I have yet seen. And because of this, your application into the Arcane Delvers is hereby accepted. Before you are inducted into our fold, you have one more task. To receive this task, I ask of you to seek out one ranked 'Regent' within the ruins of Ac'talareh and he or she shall grant you your task. I wish you the best of luck in this-

As Cyrus signs the letter, he pauses for a moment. The crosses out his title, mumbling "Pretentious." Cyrus then begins crossing out more things in the letter, still mumbling things akin to "Useless" and "Ridiculous"  until nearly all of the letter is crossed out. He sighs irritably, and folds the letter as is and seals it with wax. The letter is then walked up to the aviary where it would be sent back to Crineas. Cyrus shuffles back to his room and rests his face upon his hands as he sits back at his desk. He exhales irritably once more, and slowly drifts off into much-needed sleep on the hard stone of his workspace.

Why do you wish to join the Delvers? I wish to learn a new life from the Delvers. I want to help find the knowledge that many may wish to seek, this comes as important to me as I am one who wishes to learn about the ancient knowledge that many seek. In your own words describe what you think a delve is: A delve is a seeker of knowledge, one who wishes to seek the lost knowledge of the world, it is also a brotherhood, people who join together to find the lost knowledge that may have been lost in the world

 

If you found an artifact and that artifact could do anything. What would it do?  The Artifact would be a jar, this jar would be blank from the inside. However the past and the knowledge of the jar is endless. He or she who finds this jar could hold the knowledge to the ancient life of a king, or prince. He or she would look at it and soon, find that the runic paintings hold the knowledge to something big.

As Cyrus mopes about inside of his room, thinking about his life and other general things that people do when they feel sorry for themselves, a Ranger enters and sets two letters upon his desk. Cyrus looks up, then slides the letters in front of himself, and breaks the seal of the first letter. After reading it, he pens his first response

 

'Dear Mr Bergamot,

 

Your interest in enchantments intrigues me, and I'm sure some mutually beneficial relationship can be reached. You application has been found acceptable. Though there is no specific rank we could likely give you, I suppose a simple title, 'Delver', would suffice. All that you must now do is to approach the ruins of Ac'talareh and receive your task of initiation from a Delver with the rank of 'Regent'. Once you have proven yourself loyal and not ill-willed with this task, you will be inducted into our fold, and practically all the information you seek should be at your fingertips should you simply ask. I look forward to meeting you in person, but until then,

Upon finishing his response, Cyrus folds the letter neatly, then seals it with red wax. He then moves on to the next application. His eyebrows furrow as he reads it and pulls a parchment from his stack of blank papers to pen a response.

 

"Dear Mr Nym Vala,

 

After reading your application, I have come to the verdict that it is not up to the standards that I would expect. It was not a simple task, but the decision has been made on account of one thing; the last response of your application. The description of your ideal artifact was rather confusing to me. All that is required is that you submit a second application that answers that question with more clarity, then I'm sure you will be accepted. Until then,

Cyrus puts down his pen and folds the letter, enclosing within a blank application. He then seals it with wax, and picks up the other envelops along with it. Feeling particularly lazy, Cyrus calls for a nearby Ranger to run these responses up to the aviary. As the Ranger departs, Cyrus goes back to sit in his chair and assess his life once more.

In your own words describe what you think a delve is: My own words of what a delve would be of going in search of something. Whether it's finding an item that holds magical properties, to finding an organism that has never been seen or heard of. This could be considered to be new plants, animals or even materials that would catch one's eye.





If you found an artifact and that artifact could do anything. What would it do? If I found an artifact that could do anything, it would be a vial of water that is magically enchanted to refill every time it's drunken from. Giving a constant, fresh drink whenever and wherever needed. Simple but something that's a necessary thing for survival when traveling.

It was actually the reverse. In the keep I live in there is a mineshaft and it leads into Patriotic fools home. I did break blocks, but only to get out of the house. I tried to keep it the best I could, so I apologize for breaking in and entering. I'll wait till September 5th or an earlier date

Maendir wishes to join the Delvers to become stronger. Maendir has never truly been a man of magic and religion. In your own words describe what you think a delver is: A delver is a person dedicated to magic,  who explores and research things such as ruins, temples, and dungeons, to understand more about the world.

 

If you found an artifact and that artifact could do anything. What would it do?

The artifact would be found in a cave, buried by ice. In the coldest Tundras of the North, two gauntlets would be found. These two gauntlets would be the Fresnorite Gauntlets, granting anyone control over ice,water,and snow. These gauntlets would also amplify any magic users power who could use these three forms of water. However, the gauntlets would freeze the inside of whatever is inside, hands,hoofs, claws, etc. This would not kill you or force you to decapitate your hands, but first you would feel a coldness, than a numbing sensation, and finally loss of feeling and movements of your hands. This would prevent overexertion of the gauntlets, as many of those would have to rely on permanently using the gauntlets to do things. The gauntlets would still move and function even if someone had completely lost feeling. Even after the gauntlets were taken off, the effects of it would be permanent, as someone could lose feeling and control of their hands until they died or cured by magic. The gauntlets were hidden, to prevent anyone from tampering with the North, and also hurting others.

Why do you wish to join the Delvers? 

 

There are a few reasons. First among them is the need to be with my family. Kelsey von Craw and Robard von Craw are my children, and after being separated from them for so long, I want to make sure that they have a good life here in the Delvers. Second among that is the fact that my old town, Auvergne village, has been destroyed, putting me out of a job and home. Rather annoying, but I must make do. The Delvers seem like an organized group, and I believe I could do well here. Third is my quest for a place where I can live by a code. I am a man of honor, always have been, always will be. And living as a Delver, being one of the Rangers, would help me a lot.

In your own words describe what you think a delve is: A delve is a search for an item, possibly of great power, maybe for the search of knowledge itself. It is the Delver's job to do this, find knowledge in a world that has ignored it on so many occasions.

 

 

If you found an artifact and that artifact could do anything. What would it do? 

My ideal artifact would probably be a weapon of some sort. A morningstar! It's a type of mace, but spiked, and on the end of a chain. Those things are brilliant. But anyway... the morningstar itself would never dull, always remaining sharp and would jump into your hands in battle, ready for a fight. The usefulness of this would never end. Imagine you are surrounded by bandits! What would you do then? A morningstar, its chain whipping, the spiked ball falling into place. You would be ready in an instant, defending yourself from what once was certain doom. Every man needs a weapon in this dangerous world.

After an interesting conversation with a man about the stories of where their scars came from, a man hand-delivers his application to the Delvers to the front gate. Cyrus, who is conveniently in the gateroom, takes the app and strides down the stairs to his room, where he may address this application along with any others that may be there. Two additional applications lay in wait as Cyrus sits down at his desk. Lighting a nearby candle, Cyrus begins reading the letter he is holding. Upon finishing, he writes upon blank parchment:

 

'Dear Mr Maendir,

 

Your application was... interesting to read indeed, but it was found acceptable in my eyes. I was unsure whether I should accept this one, but decided to on account of your pending apprenticeship and the... imagination and specificity of your artifact. Upon reading this letter, I expect you to find a Regent so that you may inquire upon what task you will be given for initiation. Do not disappoint,

Cyrus seals the letter with hot wax upon finishing a rather rushed scrawl, and picks up the older letter there. In response, he writes:

 

'Dear Mr Xulore Ardere,

 

it is a pleasure to see another Ardere enter our fold, as I expect you to be much like a possible relative of yours, Mr Mythras Ardere. Nonetheless, your application was found to be acceptable. Please make your way to Ac'talareh where you will be given one last test of loyalty before you are inducted officially. Until then,

Cyrus wipes sweat off of his brow, finishing the next letter. He then moves on to the final letter. A small smile appears on his face as he reads, then begins to pen this response:

 

'Dear Mr Kristian von Craw,

 

After meeting you in person, it was already apparent that you would make a good part in this guild. Your application confirmed this idea, and I look forward to seeing you around more. As part of ritual, I ask you to seek out a Regent to ask what your initiation task is before you are officially inducted. Much luck to you,

Cyrus then seals the last of the letters and blows out the candle. He walks up to the aviary, where birds would be sent to the respective recipients. He then travels back downstairs and heads toward the dining hall to brew himself some hot tea.

I want to join a group of similar minded people, now that being said, I am a curious elf and tend to explore anything which peaks my interest. Just recently I explored through a mountain which housed a tonne of lava, unfortunately I never found anything but that's fine, exploring is half the fun. After being recently hired as an explorer for a traveling merchant, he inquired whether I am a part of the Delvers or not, when I told him I was not he seemed to be shocked and after a long conversation of what you do, it peaked my interest. A group of people who explore ruins and caves for artifacts? You got my attention at "explore ruins".

No I have not, so it would be interesting to see how I work with others. I am used to being a lone wolf as they say, but the more the merrier.

A delve? I presume that was incorrectly written for Delver? Well, from what I was explained, a Delver is those who seek artifacts for the betterment of their society. Their society being their group of people.

Anything you say? All I would ask out of an Artifact is eternal life so that I may explore the world, find all the mysterious and explore some more! Oh what would I do with it, depends really, if I get accepted into the Delvers, I would present it to whomever I have to though I would ask if I may claim it as my own, whether I get it or not doesn't concern me, at the very least I can sleep knowing I found something amazing.

Why do you wish to join the Delvers? My IC character wants to join to learn magic as a way to help others and protect people and show there's a way that magic can not be used as greed and for only power.He wants to learn more on the void and magic.

But me personally I'd like to see how it is to use magic and how much it can effect Rp and see would it boost Rp. And I'd like to have fun with magic and see what cause it brings to me as a player using magic.

 In my knowledge I know that the term delve means to investigate or research into data. So maybe The Delvers, they are looking to get more into learning and researching the powers of the void and understanding how to use magic. Delvers are seekers and explorers to see what will happen in the future.

 

If you found an artifact and that artifact could do anything. What would it do? Hmm Anything.? Elpizo finds an Artifact that gives him knowledge to know the where other Artifacts are at and knowledge what the Artifacts hold in them. Eplizo would use that knowledge from the Artifacts to share the knowledge to others.
