In the Spicy Maiden in Abresi stood four Dragon Guards; Vectis, the Lord Commander, Ser Zandros and Ser Jeremiah, his Knight Commanders, and the Squire to Ser Jeremiah, Orgeron. In marched in a troupe of dark clad Lion Knights, demanding the arrest of Jeremiah for treason.

"You dare defy the Lord Chancellor?" Jeremiah spoke out, regarding the Chancellor's stance on his warrant.

Pertinax Horen began to count down for Jeremiah's total surrender as the crew of Lions surrounded him and Ser Zandros, armor equipped and weapons at the ready. At the other end of the bar, Ser Lerin Hrak came behind Vectis, aiming to stab him in the back.

It was all of a sudden when the fighting broke out. Swords were swung as the barmaiden cried out in horror, clambering beneath her counter and heading into the basement. When the dust had settled, the Dragon Guards lay slain at the feet of the knights, being spat upon and stomped on as they relished in their victory.

This would be the end for Vectis as his soul passed through the Monks' fingers and into the afterlife.

Count Maximus Baelish grumbled quietly as the dogs finished trying to attack, one of the Dragon Guards bodies falling from his sword, after slaying one. It would appear if you hit someone dogs enjoy to attack you. He pulls out a note-book, noting to himself not to hit someone who has dogs.

Pertinax stabs his sword through Jeremiah's helmet, finishing him where he stands. With a grunt and sigh he looks around to all the other Knights ending the last Dragon guards within the tavern. Pertinax shakes his head and slides his sword into his scabbard, walking quickly out of the tavern "On me Lions, we report this to the Emperor"

*Alexander chuckles lightly at the man who had previously threatened to flay him dies, not caring at all. Then looking to Jeremiah and uttering a slight prayer, then shaking his head as he stands at attention to Pertinax*

"Terrible and idiotic men always die. This one went by law. Owl will be pleased to hear this"

Zandros, standing by the wall, was not slain, as he watched his comrades slaughtered in horror. He did not draw his sword on the many armored lions, his instincts telling him to pick his battles. In a daze, he sat down as the lions left. Soon Silus Horen asked him whether he would remain with the Dragon Guard.

"Aye, an oath is sacred..." Zandros replied.

Silus nodded, as the barmaid brought Zandros wine.

Jeremiah du Draike, the brooding man so few had the chance to befriend, was a victim of circumstances in his life. He was never one to give up, even when slain unjustly by the Lions for the crime his Second Cousin committed. He has served as the captain of Adam de Valletta's house guard, unwittingly party to treason. Followed by his squire-hood to Ser Arhadir Owl, only to lose it when Adam's treason is made known. He would then serve as a retainer to Dalejin Kal'Tahar in the Wilderness, leaving to take up the sword in defense of House Horen as an Imperial Dragon Knight. But after this most recent trial, weariness was rooted deep in his soul. As Pertinax sword comes right at him the world slows down, and he hears laughter. "D-Dad?" he whispers, eyes wide in shock. He never felt the blade kill him as his soul passed beyond this world, never to redeem himself in the eyes of his ancestors for the crime he committed, the crime that killed him. Those who knew Jeremiah, truly knew him, would know how much he was tortured by taking his mother's maiden name as his own, de Valletta. How much guilt he had for shaming his father. None, however, ever knew the crushing shame of how he abandoned his family ten years ago to "fulfill his calling" as he called it. It is unknown if anyone succeeds him, or if anyone would even mourn his passing.

Ser Audric the Valiant places his boot on the corpse, pulling the longsword from its flesh as small droplets of blood slowly trickle to the ground. As the wolves begin to gnaw on the bodies of the Dragon Guard, he takes a small handkerchief from his pouch and wipes the blood from the end of the blade. With a slight shrug, he slides the longsword into its sheathe and steps outside behind the Knight Commander, muttering some words beneath his visor.

"Well, they didn't last long..."

Arthal hears news and shouts from the tavern, from his home in Abresi. He walks over, following the shouts and grunts of the men fighting. The Lions were leaving, Pertinax talking of reporting to the Emperor, and he looks inside, to Vectis and the slain Dragon Guards.

"It's funny but... we called it."

When Hunter Vanderson hears the news, he is speechless. Tears well in his eyes, as he mourns for the man he called a friend.
