A Plead For Shamanism

((Hello everyone, I am VonAulus, or Grool as most of you know me. I have been playing my orc character for over  a year now and have tried countless, ((over 100)) to get shamanism training. I have asked almost every single one to teach with my last teacher leading me on for 4 months then getting banned. Mogroka promised as well but is quite busy with being sick and running a nation. I do not know what you can do to actually help any of us since you are almost all inactive. I do not want to get trained over skype or in forum messages. We, as the orcs, need shamans for our rp to thrive, and you have let us down. When is the last time we got a blessing before battle? A burial ceremony for fallen comrade? A spirit being shoved up our ass? I do not want to point fingers for our failures, but the shamans and their lack of dedication to our player base have hurt us more. There is practically no way to spread this great rp! Please stop failing us.

We need more, and it would improve the Orcish RP greatly. It was what made it more than just "we gu flat sumfin" as it added depth and a spiritual side of Orcs that wasn't seen much in RP ]]

((We have been pushing for a more spiritual orc race for a long time and have been promised things by our shamans and staff alike. Either get with the program or gtfo shamans and let it be redone.))

((I'm doing my best to finish this last tier under Mogroka so I can get credentials for teaching. Keep in mind that every shaman who's currently learnin is learning from Mogroka only. To my knowledge, all the other teachers were banned or have become inactive.

As soon as I hit that fourth tier in Shamanism, I'm going to apply for teaching. Trust me, I've had the same thoughts as you. Bringing this spiritual link back is definitely something we need to revive in the orcs, and we (at least I) are striving to do it. Mogroka is just very busy, and progressing is difficult.

I'll see if I can talk to Mogroka and get his blessing (along with the MT to teach. I dunno.

But thanks for putting this out there. Hopefully we can get something going here.))

((The sad thing is that none of our shamans even have the decency to post on this thread. Besides for Booger, we are left alone to keep wondering what will happen. Shoi promised us that shamanism was being reworked, another disappointment. Why can the magic team not re-form it and give it a jump start? We need shamans.))

We let the orcs down big-time, from the top down. Our momentum's gone and there's just not enough of an active playerbase to encourage anyone to return. I've tried several times to make a comeback and there's never anyone online, so I've pretty much abandoned the cause until the population picks back up. The race is deader than I've ever seen it and all of these server changes over the last year haven't helped it at all.

 

What sort've shamanism are you looking to learn? I won't make any promises I can't keep, but from looking at the list I'm probably one of the only shaman still checks this section of the forum.

I have been training to be a watch doctor for a long time. I think the orcs are just looking for any sort of shamanism roleplay. Make our race more honor bound through our religious and spiritual beliefs. I have had many conversations recently with orcs talking about what we believe with ancestors, spirits, krug, and many other things.

I can only train Farseers. I recently got an application approved to start self-teaching Witchdoctor and if I do become active, I was hoping to focus more on that and eventually be able to teach it as well. I feel like with this new evil coming, Witchdoctors could become an essential part of the orcs and lead to a lot of fun role-play.

 

The Witchdoctor magic is a clean slate right now. To be honest, no one really ever developed a whole lot of lore for that subtype, which is largely the reason I went into it as self-taught. Mogroka and other veterans can oversee these things for any developments that clash with the lore, but for the most part, we'll have the freedom to make stuff up as we go along once again. So it's really a great time to start sharing ideas and role-playing something like that, especially with all of these evils approaching.

 

Here's my suggestion. Submit an application to start self-teaching Witchdoctor Shamanism to yourself with Mogroka overseeing. It's really the only way to learn it right now and still remain legit through the Magic System. I recently got an application approved for the same which is currently In-Progress. I would also speak with Mogroka and try to get grandfathered in somewhat for the time you spent training that was not recorded on an application. This way you're not sitting around waiting to meet the full extent of the time requirements, since you've already been waiting long enough.

I did as you suggested and I am in wait for Mogroka to approve of me. Thanks Ned Lud. I also was looking through the old shaman stuff in the forums and could barely fin anything on different types of herbs and cactus. Maybe that needs fleshing out?
