Racial Benefits

Alright, so the word is getting out that Orcs/Dwarves have gotten a damage increase in PvP to increase the idea that....Orcs are built for war. Fine by me. However, this is not the case. A human can be built for war, maybe not as...grand as a legendary Orc but the concept of "Built for war" has become the argument point of this entire controversy. I've come to the realization, after PvPing an ORC WHO WAS IN CHAINMAIL, that any Orc with HALF A BRAIN can beat virtually ANYONE in PvP. I'd easily say I am a superb PvPer on this server, square with some of the top ones on here. This whole idea of buffing people based on what race they chose is nonsense. It's pure power-gaming. It's come to the point that you stand an extremely small chance in fights with any Orc or Dwarf, for that matter., even if say, in RP, they are a GODDAMN BABY. It makes absolutely NO LOGICAL SENSE TO BUFF ANYONE IN PVP. EVER.

PvP was something people resorted to so that they avoided Powergaming, but now, PvP in itself is power-gaming.

What you're saying is that including something to make a race more realistic and make PVP a little more Roleplay respecting is Powergaming? Gee, I need to go look up that definition again.

Oh and why in the world would you be PVP'ing a baby? If they actually want to PVP with you tell them no. THAT would be powergaming.

Don't make sense to buff someone in PVP? Well I didn't know it was bad to give a race it's Roleplay benefits in PVP as well.

You'd also be surprised on how many "kids" actually try to fight people in Roleplay. Maybe you don't understand that THERE IS A WAR GOING ON. Giving unknown benefits to the defending group isn't a problem? Ahahahaahah.

Maybe you don't realize that a veteran human soldier and a regular Orc warrior are if not equal, over their own skill. This racial benefit has made ALL Orcs better. I'd have trouble fighting the good Orcs or aka the Legendary ones, but now, it's made me seem like a child versus an adult, there is no discussion about it. It is entirely unfair, which is the very definition of Powergaming, I'd say.

Unknown? Yeah, not sure why you've been complaining about the benefits all along then.

No, really, I didn't know anything about it at all. *cough*

That is what we call powergaming. There are strike reports for this.

Which battle? This buff was implemented yesterday. There was no battle. I'm talking about the war-claim battle zones.

People resorted to PvP to avoid power-gaming, yes? How the hell do we avoid getting 5 shotted (with barely any CRITS) in full iron armor now? This war will be over before we know it, because now the dwarfs don't have to play smart, they have to play fast. An easy charge into the fray could result in Oren losing a war easily.

I don't see why dwarves are buffed in damage. I'd buff their health.

Numbers.

Yes, I'm obviously going to strike someone because they have plugin benefits. Haha, that was the dumbest comment I've seen. I came here so that the Tech can discuss it, not so that Orcs 'stop doing it.'

So, let me get this straight...

A while ago, people were complaining about too much PvP going on on the server and about a lack of RP fighting. So, how do we fix that, I wonder?

It's simple: PvP buffs! It's a great idea!

The honest solution for anyone who does more damage is either to equalize all damage again, OR, make those who do more damage attack SLOWER. I didn't realize a giant ass war-hammer had the same swing speed/strength recovery then a sword, nope, didn't realize it because that doesn't exist. It was even said in this thread, they are stronger, but slower.

I didn't know a giant mass of muscle could run at the same speed of humans in PvP, AND HIT HARDER. HAHAHAAHA. Like I said, this entire concept of buffing with no disadvantage somewhere in the line is complete Powergaming.

Yeah, you really need to get glasses if you thought I was refering to that when I talked about strikes.

See? Wasn't that hard was it.

These benefits were widely discovered yesterday, so it was pretty unknown to everyone, besides a few who knew.

It's not my job to strike report everyone who does power-game on kids, but it does happen. I thought they'd know better, but it's not my job to ruin someones day.

Because the last thread like this I saw (it was about the battle I think) involved human players telling the other side "it's war it's not fair" repeatedly.

I do wonder what's going to stop someone from doing /setrace whenever they need a buff in a certain area.

Simple. Powergaming. Play your darkelf with an orcish race and we'll come down on you faster than a pile of bricks. All it takes is a shift right click to find out if you're doing it.

The attribute for being Human unfortunately is that they are Human. People seem to forget this fact that being a Human isn't playing another fantasy race. You're playing us, in game. You're playing you. With your traits, your attributes, your wants, needs, emotional patterns and means all follow exactly as to what Humans are. To what you are, and to what Humans are in game.

It just makes sense, and this is coming from someone who is technically human in form in game. Meaning I don't gain anything from this and can be considered unbiased.

That's completely unrelated. This is PvP in general.
