Significant Roleplay Changes

Greetings Lord of the Craft,

Today I bring to you news on a rather controversial topic in this community. It is something that we as a staff have been scratching our heads about for months upon months, but while the community reached a tie, we have not.
The time of this post marks an important change in LotC, something not possible through normal mechanics, yet achievable through plugin-development.

Roleplay fighting now requires both parties to agree to it. Unless otherwise stated PvP will be engaged, exceptions include casters, children, and other major roleplay distinctions in combat.

It has been a difficult decision to reach, but after spending months speculating and arguing our positions, we feel that we have made the right choice.

Now, we won’t end it here, as we can imagine many players are going to be scratching their heads at this notion, so please join myself and Tythus tomorrow on a Livestream session where players will be able to ask questions and staff will be answering them.

In short, we can promise to cover four topics.

1. What we have found to be a negative factor of roleplay combat.
2. Plugin influence on this decision.
3. Knockout plugin update.
4. What happens now that the decision has been made?

At the end of the talk we will also include a session where the community can ask whatever questions they want in general and we will do our best to answer them. So, if you'd like to voice your concerns, comments, suggestions on whatever, meet me and Tythus tomorrow at the Livestream.

We can come to a compromise during the Livestream, as it will be time for players to reflect on this change and for you guys to voice your concerns.

 

There will be things that you are required to do before engaging in combat though. Those who are used to roleplay fighting can go ahead, there are no restrictions on it.
