Creating A New Religon Based Upon A Dream?

I am interested in making a new character who believes in a new religion all together. He fell off a cliff and while unconscious dreamed of a dragon named Bane who demands followers in turn for power. He becomes obsessed, and insane because of this dream and develops a cult. I will of course make a VA for insanity and all the other things required for his religion/cult. But I was wondering can I make this religion without a requesting it to be accepted as lore?

I believe that, because it doesn't -really- exist, you are okay to follow your fake god mindlessly as much as you wish. As long as you thoroughly understand that this Bane is not in any sense real whatsoever. If you be sure to keep it only in your character's imagination you can worship it without any Lore. Be sure to check with a LM, as I am not an official source of information.

Thanks, yes I know IRL that Bane is fake, but my character, being insane believes it to be real.

I'm pretty sure religion is just free gain as long as you don't gain any sort of powers or items from the religion.

As long as it's all in your head and you have an approved Villain Application for it you should be good to go. I wouldn't even bother a Lore Team member about it. Your character is free to think. I'm an official source on this. :P
