Elvish Races

Hey guys!

So I'm making a new character right now. He will be three-quarters elf, so essentially just an elf. However, I can't decide between a high elf and a dark elf. I've been looking on the wiki and comparing them, but I just wanted to ask people who have actually roleplayed as them the pros and cons of playing each race.

Thanks guys!

High Elves because racism.

Or.

Dark Elves because darkies.

What tends to happen when you're playing a High Elf is that you're expected to be lore correct. Considering the fact that your character is two thirds of whatever kind of elf you choose, you would most likely fit better as a Dark Elf, lest you want to hear the cries of people wanting you to be pure High Elf.

I'd say play a Dark Elf. High Elves pretty much all live in the Silver City and disprove of every other race, are racist and fancy and whatnot, while a Dark Elf can really be whatever you want him/her to be.

I suggest dark elf, as being only three quarters elf thus in that case only three quarters high elf would immediatly render you impure and thus unable to ever join the enclave of Haelun'or anyway. And outside of it you're just another impure high elf, nothing fun 'bout that.

I'mma let you finish, but being an impure ain't that bad.

Dark Elves are largely the 'fighter' sub-race of Elves, whereas the High Elves look to the academic aspects of living.
Make of that what you will, and decide what would suit your character more!

Wood Elves are fun too, remember.

Also, Highelves are more magically inclined.

Archer - Wood elf

Fighter - Darkies(#DarkieYolo)

Mage- RascistMagicPeople

Why does it need to be 25% something else (guessing human)? Why not play an elf if it's an elf anyway?

Not true! I managed to make it a couple days with a three year old half orc in Haelun'or. Granted that ended with Lenniel getting smuggled out to the druids to avoid the acid bath, but concealing your impurity is possible!

To clarify: I have no qualms with being impure. I think it would be a very interesting roleplay experience. He would be dedicating himself to study of... Pretty much anything he can, actually. I was also planning on trying to make him a mage. If that helps anybody's opinions... Thanks for the feedback!

You do not need to be racist to play a High Elf. The high Elven society is a way of life that not all high Elves share.
