~~~A Brief Introduction~~~

“There is but one type of magic, with only the views of the caster effecting it’s interpretation.”

The Reformed Mage’s Institution, previously known as the Mage’s Guild, is the most prominent and long-lasting institute for the study and training of magical arts, looked over by the Triumvirate, the Institution looks for those who wish to learn the magical arts in an environment that will allow you to expand it to it’s fullest potential. Leaving behind the traits that caused it to go into recess, the Reformed Mage’s Institution continues the legacy of the Mage’s Guild, bringing up the magical users of this world in a proper environment.

Creation of Magic

~The Herayolavach~

Before Time, before our world, before our races, there was the Emptiness. It was not simply a lack of something, it was a relentless void that destroyed anything that came within it, without thoughts or feelings of it's own. Whatever entered this nothingness, from whatever place it came, was quickly joined with it. This place had no time or hour, it was eternity, all time and no time, everything and nothing, continuously destroying itself. If it was possible to measure how long this endless cycle of destruction continued, some would say millions and millions of years, and if not for one thought, it would've continued for many more.

~The Lahevbra~

Where the Lahevbra originated from is a mystery none but the Lahevbra itself knows the answer to, out of nothing it emerged, a thing of pure love, compassion, hope, fulfillment, and power. Something even the Herayolavach could not consume, a light in the darkness, which inside of it was everything. There was but one thing the Lahevbra did not have, something to show love and compassion, something to fulfill, something to instill with hope. It looked to the Herayolavach and called out, but the Emptiness did not answer, continuing with it's feasting and indifference.

~The Hehgavach~

A thought, a simple act of meditation. The Lahevbra spoke forth this thought, sending itself through the Herayolavach. It opened it's yearnings and meditations, releasing them with it's pure power, for one moment, the devouring stopped, as the Hehgavach poured forth upon the Emptiness, it filled the void with it's raw power, such power even it could not devour it all. It contained substance and feeling, parts of all of the Lahevbra.

~The Goyuvbeshes~

The Lahevbra gathered this raw power, it pulled it into one space. Like a potter at the wheel, it began the Goyuvbeshes. First, he formed the Haretz, it contained the land, the ocean, the plants, everything any mortal can see, from the east to the west, he placed it within the Emptiness. Under the Haretz, he created the Lebah, a barrier between the Haretz and the Herayolavach, the landscape of this Goyuvbesh the most easily altered by the doings of mortals. Third, he gathered the rest of the power, the Mahina. With it, he created the Semayom, he did not give this formation it's own area of according, he spread it throughout the Emptiness, giving forth light and dimensions, allowing it to shine upon the Haretz to govern time.

 

~The Mehevab~

The Lahevbra looked upon this land it had created, he gathered parts of the rest of the creation, he instilled himself unto it and formed the Aenguls and Daemons, creatures to govern the Mahina and it's entailment throughout the Goyuvbeshes. He looked upon the Haretz, an empty paradise with none to enjoy it. Reaching out, he took a portion of the water, with it, he formed the creatures of the sea, placing them according to their origins. He took land and formed it into the beast of the world, placing them according to the origins. But last, he took forth pure Mahina, he formed it into the Mehevab, formed out of himself, two creatures he could love, and he did. He instilled one of his final gifts upon all the created, the gift of fertility, and soon, four children were born to the Mehevab, here they are listed according to the ages: Malin, Krug, Horen, and Urguan, with these four children, we were brought forth upon the Haretz.

~And so forth~

Such the tales of Ancient History continued, Iblees came down upon the land and deceived the four, he left the task bequeathed to him and began war against the Mahevab. They cried out to the Lahevbra in face of this evil, The Lahevbra looked upon the destruction caused by Iblees, reaching his right hand towards the Aenguls, and his left towards the Daemon, he sent them from their place to contain Iblees. The foul daemon called forth and corrupted the Mahina of the Mehevab, he requisitioned it into hordes of foul and putrid beast, and sent them against the masses that faced him. The Daemons brought forth flames, destroying these creatures, the Aenguls sent out chains of light, pulling Iblees towards the surface of the Haretz, and they prepared to throw him into the Herayolavach. Iblees reached out in a seemingly last attempt against the others, he sent forth his own Mahina upon the Mahevab, corrupting the very beings of the four sons and their descendants before he was sealed away. One of the Aenguls looked upon the Mahevab in pity, unable to undo the corruption caused by Iblees. She sent blessings to each, according to their kinds. The skies cleared, and the Lahevbra pulled back his hands, bringing the Daemons and Aenguls back to their duties as the guardians of the Mahina.

The First Mages

Iblees' rebellion placed seeds of corruption within the races, causing them to doubt their original purpose and go their own ways, such as the brothers, Philip and Rodrick. Through his straying, Philip ventured into the Lebah, the barrier between the Void and the Haretz. He went to the seal holding Iblees and lay his hand upon it. His touch, with the anger of Iblees behind it, weakened the seal, but it did not only weaken the seal, it flawed the Lebah itself, allowing a small flow of mahina to pass through it. Through this flaw in the barrier, Iblees showed the brothers how to harness this Mahina, and with promise of more, he sent them to gain his revenge on the Mehevab. Creating the first of the Undead. These creatures fueled with hatred, used the Mahina

to ravage the lands, bringing about it’s destruction.

Now it came about, that the Mahina began to intertwine with the individuals of the Haretz, soon, they harnessed the Mahina, able to use it for it’s original purpose, creation. They used it to influence the creations of this world, and to add new ones to it. These first Mages fought against the undead, but with the fury of a daemon behind them, the horde destroyed the land.

The most powerful users of Mahina gathered among themselves, they gave themselves a purpose, to harness the Mahina, to use it to it’s full potential, bringing about a true peace to this land. So it was that a Mage’s Institution was created, searching out and bringing in those with magical potential, to harness their abilities for the betterment of its purposes.

The Mage’s Institution came to be lead by a Triumvirate, three Archmages, some of the most powerful mages among the institution. They used their wisdom to continue to serve the purposes of the guild, bringing it into a new age of Harmony. The Dwarves invited this institution to live among the peaks of it’s southern mountains, they created the College of Wyverwyn, a beacon of hope and freedom for those who wish to learn the ways of Mahina.

 

The Ranks of the College:

Triumvirate of Archmages

The Archmages are the leaders of the Institution, forming the Triumvirate, among themselves they are the most authoritative figures within it, each Archmage can influence the decisions of the college, and do not require the others to do so, but large discussions will be made among the three of them.

Archanix

The Archanix is the Librarian and Record Keeper of the College, if this position is not filled, it falls upon the Archmages to ensure these duties are maintained.

Guild Masters

Guild Masters are the most senior personnel inside of the Institution, aside from the Archmages and Archanix. They are voices of experience for the students, and will address most of their primary concerns, if those concerns cannot be addressed by the teacher.

Teachers

Teachers are those among the college that are at such a state in their magic that they are available to teach students, though they answer to the Archmages, they are not to be trifled with, especially by a lower subordinate.

Adepts

Members of the Magical Art who have surpassed the need for a teacher, but do not posses the experience to bring on students themselves.

Students

Those among the college who are currently learning magical arts, they have no real authority within the college, their main duties being to follow the orders of their teachers and study.

Pilgrims

All Individuals within the college who’s purpose does not concern learning the magical arts. Pilgrims within the college may be promoted to other ranks that do not require magical affinity, such as the Archanix or Instructors.

Laws of the Institution

A mage shall not use their magic to serve purposes that contradict that of the institution and it’s leaders.

A mage shall not assault another member of the institution, unless agreed upon beforehand between the two, or if the victim is conducting actions that would cause damage to the Institution and it’s purposes.

A Mage of the institution must follow the orders of the Triumvirate.

A Mage of the Institution must uphold and respect the property of the Institution.

Above all else, Mage’s must maintain themselves with the orders of the Triumvirate, so that balance does not break within the institution.

Acceptance into the Institution

Mages who wish to join the institution must either already be skilled in the magical arts, or have a teacher to assist you in becoming skilled within it. If you are neither trained, nor have a current teacher, you may join the institution as a Pilgrim, you will be given quarters, and duties to uphold throughout the college. Pilgrims that wish to become mages may speak with the teachers of the Institution after joining as a Pilgrim, there the teachers may choose to begin teaching you.

To join the college, whether as a Pilgrim or an Aspiring Mage, take one of the papers located below and fill it out, place it back into the container, accepted individuals will have a wax seal placed upon their application if they are approved for an interview with an Archmage, they may then travel to the college to speak with the Archmage. It is best to note that you may travel to the college without filling out one of the forms, but an interview is not guaranteed.
