Finally, Pvp Is Default

I would see this as a risky choice you have made. I will explain.

People came in Aegis to learn how to rleplay but than also PvP default. As with the war-claims being free and than most things being free from power-game. Now this seems intelligent from back than and you did gain quite a lot of members. Now to Asulon PvP went down and role play rose. This benefited the server quite a bit but than lowered some members who liked the pvp aspect of the server but raised player based role play. Now returning to PvP could remove some players yet again from the player base and the aspect of the server could be diminished once again as it was at the start of Asulon/end of Aegis. Is the GM's+ ready for this risky move with the current servers state?

Ligitiment question for GM's+

After reading Kalenz and Dohvi's post, I think they have a point. The 4+ rule should be larger at the very least, or somehow take into account the fact that there could just be four mages together.

Whelp, There goes the neighborhood. Time to see what happens.

Already saw a multitude of brawls break out. I think this was a horrible decision when PVP should be something decided on as a group. Especially considering that mass PVP lags people a lot. If PVP is set as default it ruins to effect of actually using your character's skills and weaknesses in a fight.

This is logic? Now that pvp is default a halfling can just throw on iron armor and just kill a group of trained soldiers. A HALFLING.

Sorry, Halfings don't fight.

It's had months of thought put into it. :|

Months of thought =/= good thought, quality thought, or sane thought.

I don't know who really made this decision, nor do I care.

It doesn't seem like much care and thought from the position of a large portion of the playerbase was put into it.

And an equally large portion of the playerbase are in support of this change. What makes one greater than the other?

Because it doesn't agree with his opinion, the only one that is important here, obviously.

This choice doesn't have to be something so painful as the server dragging its nuts through glass. If you prefer RP fighting, there will definitely be communities that choose RP over PVP. Play with them!

I'm kind of disappointed but this could potentially help. I prefer giving this a go and then having the decision changed than being close-minded to the PvP supporters.

No one should be making any good, or even, bad replies.

WE HAVEN'T EVEN DONE PVP DEFAULT FOR A WEEK YET.

Literally, have we even tried it in Anthos? No. If it is that -huge- of a problem, it's simple. We go back to roleplay default.

Change isn't always bad.

Well, I didn't know how to react at first. When I read this post, it left that feeling you get when you read a really good book with the worst ending. This effect was worsened by one thing; everyone posting.

Our server is a family, guys. We are supposed to be friends, colleges, and help and support each other. When you get people bragging about their choice being chosen and then bashing anyone who tries to argue, you worsen our bonds. Although everyone involved in an argument is at fault, its wrong to bluntly anger and be angry at someone who you come here to be with.

No matter who you are or where you come from, this server is apart of ALL of us. I myself voted for RP, but I am willing to try this new method. I've seen some other posts of people like me sprinkled in between the hate and arguing and constant downing. All I ask, people of our fine server, is to be understanding and kind to each other. No doubt some will try to argue with my stance on you all arguing with statements like "We aren't arguing!" but you are, even if you cannot see it.

Overall, I respect the decision and hope it works out well for the server. With that, I wish everyone luck and hope you all treat each other with respect and kindness. ^_^

Care and thought was put into it and the staff cared and thought that this was a better idea.

We began as a PvP default server and were successful for several months and then a similar decision was made to go to role-play default. The three or four of you that represent the majority don't seem to understand that. Those of us that support PvP default have endured this **** for over a year now with minimal complaint. We've continued to contribute to the community and role-play and now we've finally won the long, hard fight. Interest in Lord of the Craft has declined at a 45% angle while interest in Minecraft has risen at a 45% angle ever since we transitioned from Aegis to Asulon and switched to role-play default as one of many changes. Those of y'all that have a problem with it can pick up your ball and go home. This server will survive without you.

We're crunching numbers and trimming fat here. That's what servers do to guarantee that the machine survives and clanks onward. We're at a 50/50 split on PvP default versus role-play default and we know for a fact that PvP default was a successful factor for the server two years ago. So we can afford to risk losing 50% of our uncooperative playerbase if it has the potential to attract the numbers that we experienced back when PvP was default.

This is essentially a business run by volunteers. If you can't hang, go to the competition. There are plenty of customers waiting in line.

Because whether or not more/less people want it, it's not fair.

Hush hush, Mr. Bias.

And it's not that many people prefer RP fighting, it's that many people don't want to PVP.

(sorry for unconstructure post but there's literally nothing constructive that can be said on this topic. Time will tell whether it was a good choice or not)

Bili, I expected better of you. To clarify, during the poll that the staff took, there was a slight edge of players in favor of PvP... regardless, however, this player, as do all players, deserve to be treated with respect. It's straight up rude and impolite to automatically assume a player stating an opinion, regardless of which opinion it was, is doing so out of selfish or immature reasons. That goes for Hylian too, now that I think about it.

Please guys. We can have our disagreements. But let's be civil about them, especially those of us who are on staff and are serving as representatives of the server and what it stands for.
