Matt011011 166 Share Posted August 17, 2013 Ahhh.... So no more 'Super edgy dark elf assassins that can do triple backflips and throw daggers that they pulled from their sleeves and hit your directly in the eye'? M'kay, I can roll with this.
Parading 302 Share Posted August 17, 2013 PVP default should have been delayed until the Nexus release.
Haldon 72 Share Posted August 17, 2013 Lotc'ers. Take a breath and step away from the keyboard. Those who are getting upset, go make yourself a cup of tea and ask yourself if this is really worth getting worked up about. The decision has been made and though some of us may not agree to it, where's the harm in giving it a try? The staff know what they are doing, if they didn't the server wouldn't have lasted this long already. Give it a try, and as it has already been said if it doesn't work things might change back. I have always preferred RP fighting because it gives me more room to move with my character and her abilities, but I don't remember the last time I won a fight. I don't care because in the end the experience is fun regardless. I get Powergamed and metagamed, though never bring it up OOCly because honestly, continuing with the fight is a lot more enjoyable then having a pointless argument and getting angry over a game, so I roll with the punches, and I will do the same with this too. My point here is that wouldn't it be more enjoyable to just give it a try then getting worked up. If you are scared that things will go backwards with combat RP, then stay out of those sort of situations for a while and indulge in some of the other types of roleplay the server has to offer.

Baconthief 682 Share Posted August 17, 2013 I suggest that everyone who is upset, take your rage out tomorrow if it's still there. I was upset at the no knock-out plugin early as were many people) but the next day no one seemed to care. Just if you still find it upsetting, complain about it once you have thought put into it I dislike it too, and I'd wish for some form of compromise/meet in the middle, yet this is bearable and it's not the end of the world. Also this does not mean you can't request rp. Edit: Hahaha, guy above me XD That scene (@ your signature) was very bad ass, even from my perspective and it's worthy of a signature
Neri 3590 Share Posted August 17, 2013 lets see... the people who prefer PvP over RP combat most likely hit some place, if nto all acorss, this list : - probly suck at RP -probly use hacks, or special mouse that allows quicker input then the normal. -are probly an oren human zealot I didn't realize a human being could even be this opinionated until I saw this post. Why do I prefer PVP combat? Because it's quicker, easier, painless and lets me get back to my NON-COMBAT preference of roleplay.
Samson Option 9652 Share Posted August 17, 2013 No matter how fast thy click, it shant assist you as our dear Blawharag has proven in the past through tests. Anyways, there is a thread by Darkdragon274 and despite the apocalyptic rage fueled by the fear that your e-fiefdom [that may or may not be used to cushion your IRL feelings] will be clicked away, many PvP default supporters are actually willing to oblige with RP fight requests. Fear Not. I didn't realize a human being could even be this opinionated until I saw this post. Why do I prefer PVP combat? Because it's quicker, easier, painless and lets me get back to my NON-COMBAT preference of roleplay. DruinsBane 240 Share Posted August 17, 2013 In all honesty I'll give it a try by that I mean I'll /damage 20 if anyone try to pvp me. Don't think myself to be rude but I do put a lot of effort into describing (This may sound arrogant) my actions and I pride myself on never power-gaming most of if not all the time losing and finishing off my combat role-play less then half an hour if not five minutes. And you say this cuts down on power-gaming? It in its self is just trading that off for pvp abuse (Please note not all if most won't, but that can be said about role-play fighting.) And to top it off how do you think people learn to stop power-gaming by trial and error, now trial and error is cut from the picture. All this does is increase the problem. Now lets see if abuse of pvp is better then power-gaming, I'll watch from my of tower skepticism. (Here have a clown, cause god knows I need one.)
Baconthief 682 Share Posted August 17, 2013 Remember guys, the majority of people would prefer to rp. As that's what the poll dictated. If you want to rp fight, ask. Statistically and mathematically speaking, the odds are in your favor that this will end up into what you would like.
Lvke 1000 Share Posted August 17, 2013 I no longer care for this server. Thanks for the times bai now. Such an amazing attitude. Good bye.
Samson Option 9652 Share Posted August 18, 2013 Blackmail won't work, the PvP-bullies will beat you up for it! Or as I am told, never actually intended to beat anyone up, but I reckon generalizations are immaculate around here and RP purists are soothsayers ayeaye! Sporadic 2844 Share Posted August 18, 2013 Isn't it funky that the staff first said this issue would be decided by vote, which then came out in favor of RP default, and is subsequently ignored as the staff overrules with a new decision?
