Using this thread as a way of storing and sharing my characters progress.

Background:

Tiana lived a simple life on her small family farm east of Kingston with her
father, Christofar. Her mother, who tragically died during childbirth, left
young Tiana without a permanent female role model. As a result Tiana often
enjoyed playing with the boys from nearby Kingston. They would spend hours upon
hours each day pretending that they were noble knights fighting off bandits and
evil wizards, something that she would later aspire to do for real. The
majority of Tiana’s childhood was very settled and she enjoyed herself, always
willing to help out her father. During her 11th year upon this world, whilst at
the market one day selling some of their new lambs, her father fell into an argument
with a nasty fellow over the price. Christofar and the man got into a shouting
match which very quickly turned sour. Her father was left battered and bruised
by his stall, as a guard dragged the assailant away. A young elf, passing
through from Malinor helped Tiana bring her father home. Christofar was
bedridden for 4 days, slipping in and out of conciousness before he finally
passed away in his sleep from bleeding on the inside.

Tiana was now an orphan. Only 11 years old and on her own in the world, she
couldn’t maintain her father’s farm, and in just a few weeks after her father’s
tragic death, Tiana found herself homeless and sleeping rough. Tiana spent the
next few years of her life travelling between towns, trying to find work. Sadly
there was rarely any to be had. At 17, she had made her way to the capital city
of the Kingdom of Renatus, Abresi, where she managed to find work at an inn,
where she was allowed to live for the duration of her employment. Finally, she
had a roof over her head and regular hot meals in her belly. Life was looking
up. This life was not destined to last forever though. Some people might see
prison as an awful place full of awful people, punished for the crimes they
committed. Not Tiana though. She saw this as an opportunity. Locked away for 2
years after being wrongfully accused of stealing a patron’s coinpurse from the
bar, she had plenty of time to reflect on the decisions she had made and the
life that she had led. On her 18th birthday, locked up in her cell,
she made a vow. She was not going to let anybody walk over her again. She was
going to turn her life around and make something of herself. She vowed that on
the day she was released, she would go out into the world and train in combat.
She wanted to protect people from crime. So that’s just what she did. She
managed to find work tending fields on a small farm, and with her wages she
paid a blacksmith to teach her the basics of handling a sword.

That brings us to today, Tiana, 6 months free, some basic combat knowledge under
her belt, and all the hope in the world. Ready to join the military, the town
guard, anything that would let her protect the innocent, so that one day, she
might even work her way up to knighthood!

Progress so far:

During her first few months in the land of Anthos, Tiana spent her time wandering between Abresi and Kingston, in the hopes of finding work. Whilst visiting Abresi, for what felt like the thousandth time, she took a chance and visited The Royal Oren Blacksmith, where a kind metalworker created and gave her a sword free of charge so she could protect herself. After leaving a small tip for the smith, she set off again back towards Kingston, where she found Westwarde Citadel. Dreadric Kalis met her at the gates, showed her in and tested her combat skill, before accepting her into the ranks of the Legion of the Cardinal Cross.

Fast forward a month or two and Tiana found herself stood in the main hall of the Citadel, equipped with a stone sword and some light chainmail, she was about to embark on her first ever patrol. Commander Siege took her and the other Legionaires out to the edge of the Kingdom. There was no sign of trouble on the roads, so they took the opportunity to find a clearing in the forest to test Tiana and one other new recruit, Mathis Blackburn. They trained in fighting with their fists, but little did they know that they were being watched. A bandit was hidden in the trees, he aimed and unleashed an arrow at Siege's head, luckily it caught him in the shoulder, merely wounding him. Tiana then proceeded to take an arrow to her shoulder and gut, before being dragged under the shelter of a tree where she was bandaged, whilst the other soldies beat the bandit back. During the fray, a young lad fell from a tree, he appeared to be with the bandit. He was restrained and taken back to the Citadel, Tiana being carried. too weak to walk. Upon returning, she was patched up properly and sent to recover in her bed for a long while. The teenage lad that had assisted the bandit was tortured for information, before being burnt alive and hung from a post outside the Citadel.

After her recovery, Tiana took a walk down into Kingston, where she found Commander Tahjeet Mubdee confronting a band of Orcs who had claimed to have stolen valuables from the Salvus vaults. Tiana was taken captive by the Orcs, and tricked into drinking a nasty brew that poisoned her. Left for dead at the side of the road, the monks found her and healed her up.

Upon returning to the Citadel, Tiana went back out on patrol with David Campos. Whilst out and about they heard an Orcish horn originating from The Trog. Tiana and the patrol she was with went to investigate. Whilst inside, nobody paid them any mind, until they went to leave. They were swarmed by many Orcs. Fearful for their lives and their well-being, the patrol saw an opening and bolted back to the Citadel, they had survived and escaped. Tiana was now starting to hate Orcs.

After a week had passed since the incident at The Trog, Tiana was informed by Tahjeet's squire, Ernest Dernwood, that Tahjeet had requested to speak to her. She went to find her commander, who informed her that she had been promoted to the rank of Armsman, and been charged with the recruitment and pro-legion propaganda management. He asked her to come up with a set of screening questions for new recruits, so she went and found a quiet place in her favourite tower. Upon leaving the tower to tell her commander of her progress with the recruitment questions, she was set upon and clubbed unconcious by a great lumbering Orc that had somehow broken into the Citadel. Fellow Legionaires pushed back the foul beasts and retook the Citadel, Tiana now had a deep set hatred for the Orcs. Commander Tahjeet opened fire with siege weaponry on The Trog. We were now at war.

That's her story so far, i'll update this as more significant events happen.
