Why you want to be an AT member? I simply wish to rejoin the AT because I feel the need once again to do my part on the server. One can post as many times as he likes, but if one does not help aid the problems he sees then they are useless. I don't wish to be useless any longer. I was AT before for a short time, around a month or so, and left due to my hospitalization. I was barely able to do much at the time, and when I got better I just didn't have the drive or energy to ask for my spot back. I originally joined before the forum mess up in 2011, but was inactive. I rejoined September 2012. Why you want to be an AT member? I want to become an AT member to help the server to the best of my abilities, I see the AT as the "gate-keepers" of the server, only letting those acceptable to join into the world of Anthos. I would like to join among them, to help the new players who wish to join the server, to assist in the load the team has and to be a great asset to the team. I have quite a bit of experience of myself. Why you want to be an AT member? The application team is an extremely important part of the server. They are the gateway that all new members are faced with, and the gate that all must pass. Because of this, most players remember the person that accept them to the server, and, hopefully, they remember that person giving them advice, or helping them improve or add to their application. This ties into my experiences with the application team. I personally remember the person that accepted me to this server. It has been over two years, and that particular person has not been on this server, and has not been active, for such a long time, yet, I remember them, and I remember them assisting me, and guiding me through the process. I would also like to guide new applicants through this process. Nurturing a new player through the processes of joining the server, and getting them into the action, and the enjoyment, of roleplay within the server. I believe that I am level minded, and can treat new players equally, and aid them in the process of travelling through the process. The most direct way to aid these people directly, and impact them in a positive manner, is to join the application team, which is my intention upon the creation of this post. I tried the media team, but that includes too much minecraft stuff, and video editing skills of which I have very little. I constantly find myself looking applications over, deciding if they are good or not and keeping said decision to myself, knowing that i cannot post on the app, but it has never occurred to me that I might want to be an AT. When it comes to judging things fairly, and without bias, I think I am more than capable of this. When it comes to applications, i never let anything other than the application affect my choice. I have a solid grip on english grammar, and know too much about server lore and rules. When it comes to plagiarizing, I do not tolerate it at all, and I simply abhor cliches. I might be strict while reviewing applications, but I am fair while doing so. Another thing I'm really picky about is how the application fits into the server. If I feel that a character who is trying to be implemented into the server does not fit into the server, or that the applicant has no idea what he is writing with, I would deny the app, and send said applicant an explanation, and some tips for his future app. I also enjoy the concept of sending new applicants a guide to commands, how LOOC works (something that new players find confusing based on observation), and where they should go and what they should do once they join the server, so they dont ed up quitting on the first week. Why you want to be an AT member? I've been playing on the server for over two years but haven't applied for any staff positions yet. I feel that I owe it to this server to give something back as it has been such an awesome community for me. I have quite a bit of experience at reviewing applications as I was an admin that helped with whitelisting on a friend of mine's server but more importantly, I was a Proctor (equivalent of AT) on Herocraft. This involved going through a LOT of apps, giving constructive feedback and several other things. I held that position for almost half a year and helped whitelist over 300 people to the server. The app reviewing I've done in the past has involved a lot of background checks and seeing when people were last banned etc. I'm not sure if that is the same way that the AT runs but I'd love to be given the chance! Why you want to be an AT member? I can honestly say I enjoy reading applications, and guessing if they will be acceptedbased on what I think is a good application. Everything about the Applicationteam makes me want to join it. The fact that you have the responsibility to make sure everyone's roleplay is up to par, the interaction with new members, the fact that I can read applications, and accept or denythem based on how I feel they would do on the server. I also have many different characters that I have played, and know Orc, Elf, Human, and many more. This could be helpful because I could the best judgement possible. My final reason I want to join the App team is a little cliche, but it is true. I wish to help, and this could be a great way. On my short time on LOTC, I've become very attached to this community. I never really got an opportunity to get truly involved, though. I fully enjoy and admire what the AT does, and has been an interest of mine for some time now. Disregarding post counts and such, I'm actually very active on the forums, and spend most of the day just lurking around not really doing anything important. AT would give me an opportunity to start doing something useful and worthwhile instead of just browsing, doing nothing with my time on the forums. I know how much of an impact an AT member can make on a new member's experience on LOTC. Escharian accepted me onto the server, and I'm still talking to him today. It still makes me happy because of how welcome he made me feel, and gave me an great over-all impression of LOTC. So I want to be able to make that feeling happen for all the new members, and a way I hope to achieve that is through this application. (April 25, 2013) Why you want to be an AT member?: Well, I would like to be part of the Application Team because I remember when I applied, I had put quite a lot of thought into my application, and as a result, I received a compliment on my application from ski_king3, who was the reviewer of my application. To be honest, since I first joined LoTC I've noticed a gradual decline in the quality or roleplayers from newer members that I encounter, mainly because of their lack of knowledge of the server rules and how to prevent from meta-gaming or power-gaming while roleplaying. By becoming a member of the Application Team, I feel that it will help me be able to ensure that server applicants are up to the sort of, 'standard' of roleplay that LoTC has, and if they do not meet it, I will be able to try and assist them through their application so that they can meet this 'standard'. I believe it will also allow me to become a more involved member of the community by not just role-playing my character. Ever since I first joined LoTC, I have wanted to become a member of the Application Team, as I had friends who were members of it. It was mainly because I wanted to be able to have an impact on the quality of roleplayers that we allow onto this server. I know that if I am accepted, I will try my best to be active and review player's server applications to ensure that server expectations are met by new applicants.
