Minea 124 Share Posted October 7, 2013 Even though I can see my horsie being stolen, I would like less OOC interference when it comes to horsies. Perhaps to add more RP, we could be able to breed say once a fortnight IRL and then people can become.... BREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEDERS~!!! *cough* bro this is already what happends... Neri 3590 Share Posted October 7, 2013 Make horses slightly less valuable but make them require some sort of upkeep? That'd be nice.
firespirit44 1323 Share Posted October 7, 2013 Can we stop talking about horses and get with the donkeys? Donkeys > Horses, and its insanely hard to get donkeys now.
DecoLamb 959 Share Posted October 7, 2013 Can we stop talking about horses and get with the donkeys? Donkeys > Horses, and its insanely hard to get donkeys now. donkey master race. i kinda feel like donkey owners would come together and start breeding foals since they're in such high demand
Heff 2460 Share Posted October 7, 2013 Possibly make it so they cannot be susceptible to player damage unless granted. I'm fine with the OOC consent with the Horse as frankly its hard enough just to keep a Horse. And frankly if someone had enough rp I would gladly let them take my horse. Also, possibly later on we can make it that you need to actually feed your horse. Then you wouldn't want your horse to wander but rather stay in a pen so it can be fed. Also, I feel that teleporting horses should be taken away. NO... please no more OOC consent! Edit: Get rid of needing OOC permission to steal... quite frankly it slows rp considering some magical force keeps us thieves from jumpin' on a horse and riding away from danger. Tadmonster 54 Share Posted October 8, 2013 Keep the OOC permissions. IRL, a well trained horse would make loads of noise and not let the thief ride him. Whether the OOC consent is given or not, a GM should watch and give Rp like "The horse bites at your hands" etc. The idea of a horse being stolen easily is pretty much impossible. The horse just wouldn't allow it, and in a real situation, people would be around all the time, and not 150 max exist in such a huge plot of land, much less several cities, so the thief owuld be caught stealing an entire horse much easier. Actually only a horse trained to deny other riders would do that. Most well trained horses kinda just accept a rider, because their trained to be ridden. It takes a lot more work to make them hate anyone other than the owner. EDIT: If your theory was true, it would be impossible to lease horses, run children's pony rides, or sell rides on the beach or rent horses out for trail rides and the like. Sync 11 Share Posted October 8, 2013 Eh. I'll stick to walking on my legs. Every single fucker I've seen on a horse just ZOOMS by me on the road, while everyone else at least stops for a minor RP session. thenagainI'veneverusedahorsesolol. Although, I agree with taking away OOC consent for the horse to be stolen. I mean.. it's like a thief asking permission to break your card window. "Oh, hey man.. you mind if I break your windows in order to steal your stuff?" "W-what? Yes.. yes I do mind." "Oh, well that's too fluffing bad." "OHGODOHGODOHGOD." Lasacow 75 Share Posted November 8, 2013 I agree with most of these premises other than the horse thieving malarkey What should happen is you are only able to try and steal the horse if the owner is online; when someone tries to steal a horse, the owner is notified, giving them the chance to stop the thief, and hopefully create some good rp. Also the horse should not be prevented from fall damage, otherwise people would just climb on their horse and use it to jump down big heights.
Trips 344 Share Posted November 9, 2013 So, what about us whose horse was stolen while we were offline, by abusing the lack of OOC-permissions and timezones? Well, I surely am not the only one whose horse was pushed out of a stable and stolen while I wasn't online. In my opinion the OOC permission doesn't need to be there again then atleast, unless we get some kind of compensation or horses back, since we didn't even get to know who stole the horse. Can you imagine logging on and finding that the horse isn't where it was left overnight. People have simply started to somehow magically teleport their horses indoors IC, which is even more silly, it just does not make sense.. that is of course, to prevent stealing of the horses, which is almost abusing of MC-mechanics in my opinion. However, the problem that happened with the lack of OOC permissions, resulted in many horses getting pushed out, creating the 'bad circumstances' or whatever, and then modrequesting to steal it, and the owners of those horses do not even get a notification who owns the horse, nor anything else, it's simply put gone. So.. Changes should be somewhat fair, not that 'those who abuse the quickest, profit the most' in my opinion.

Then I started putting my horses in a paddock with a singular gate they can't be pushed out of, or in a stall. No horses stolen since. I let people store horses in my paddock if they stop by and ask as well. Horses can get into my place with or without a player, but they need to be ridden to get out. Pretty easy. Really, you kind of need to pay attention to where you leave them. Stuffing them in a hole or an unsafe 'barn' if you can even call half the stables around here that, isn't going to cut it. You know where my stable is Trip, just come drop it off >:T
domainoft 191 Share Posted November 10, 2013 I leave signs when I find horses in places they shouldn't be. I have no desire to steal all of them but certainly would have been within the rights several times......places like 3x3 buildings wood plank buildings, and makeshift brewery's are not stables for horses.
